We stayed in Campground 1. Many of the sites sit by the lake or have a lake view. Ours did not mainly because we are a long motorhome and the majority of spots could not accommodate our rig. Campground #1 now has full hookups on about 1/3 of their sites, which is a great improvement. Before we booked a site, we rode through the park to see of the available spots, which ones could accommodate our rig. We chose site 100 which worked very well; however, our satellite did not work at all on top of the rig. One needs a tripod so that one can manually move the dish to an appropriate spot. We had a good time and everyone is very nice. Also, the rangers are very visible making constant trips throughout the campground. - leciel19

EXTREMELY crowded with LOTS of kids, dogs, smokers, loud cars (engines AND music). We arrived on a Tuesday and we were REALLY surprised at how busy it is!
The lake is really pretty and so is the park leading up to the campground. But then it becomes a different world. Even the camp host's site was cluttered with a lot of "stuff" outside and it's the first site you see when you enter the loop! There are apparently no rules with regard to hanging clotheslines etc. to hang ALL kinds of stuff on, which gives this place a little bit more of a down-home, backwoods feel then we were hoping for.
I think that the biggest thing that bugged me was the lack of cleanup between us and the campers that were in our site before us. We found a whole SLEW of watermelon rinds, beer bottle caps, cigarette butts and....wait for it..... PILES and PILES of DOG POOP in our site. And while I feel like the campers should cleanup after themselves.... if they don't.... then it's the park's responsibility to do it!
Definitely won't be back, but not bad enough to leave early :) - doggpurr

Visited the park in the winter so there were not a lot of people there at the time. The bathrooms were very clean and well kept. The sites were decently level and were big enough for most travel trailers. We had a lake site and that was very nice to wake up on to the water. Greenwood lake is very large and the fishing was decent. We will certainly plan to go camping here again. - Coachgrady

We stay here multiple times a year. We love it in the winter the most. The campground is pretty much empty and the weather has been pretty good. The place is quiet, clean and pretty. Friendly staff always ready with a wave as they pass by. - CampsiteFlags

This has absolutely been one of my favorite SC State Parks to stay in. Our site was lakeside and had a beautiful view (campground #2, site 112). The park and site was very clean and easy to back in and set up. The outdoor "living" area was a little small, but big enough for a couple of chairs, the picnic table, and fire ring. The view, however, made up for any issue we had with the lack of space. The only issue we had was that there was a lot of dogs barking. The campground host also had barking dogs, so they didn't say much to anyone else who had dogs constantly barking. But again... the view was relaxing enough that it made up for anything else going on. - FlowerChild7275

We stayed here because of the two 5 star ratings ... they were wrong. Nice people who run the place, but the mostly permanent residents kept their places surrounded by junk. I won't go back. Repeating myself, nice folks running the place but it is a mess. Below average IMO. These reviews are supposed to allow us to help each other and the two people who gave this place top reviews have done a disservice to the rest of us. - Ron N Janice

We passed through this area of South Carolina just as the Spring Break / Camping Season kicked into high gear. Very few RV Parks / Campgrounds even had an opening. The friendly folks at Moon Landing stepped up and offered us a spot. Moon Landing (and its associated parks) cater predominantly to the 'Seasonal' or Weekend Camper / Boater as many of their parks sit right on Lake Greenwood. The various properties come complete with all the amenities one would expect from High Priced 'Destination Campgrounds' - but the Moon Landing folks provided their brand of Cadillac Service at a Pick Up Truck Price. With only 5 spots in our area, we had plenty of room to walk around and very little traffic. Our spots came with Free WiFi - which Moon Landing upgraded during our stay when one of the campers suggested how to improve the signal. While we never experienced any issue with the WiFi, we felt their prompt attention to a potential problem warranted mention here. Another benefit of staying with Moon Landing RV Park is they provide FREE firewood for the campfires. When our plans changed, and we decided to depart a few days earlier than anticipated, Moon Landing, unsolicited, provided us a rebate for the unused portion of our stay! Amazing. We'd definitely stay here again. - Todd and Heather

What a sweet campground!! Clean, quiet, peaceful, & run by some very friendly folks. It's located on Lake Greenwood & there are such beautiful sights to see when the sun is rising over the water. My only regret is that we were only able to stay for 2 weeks. - hippichik

Another jewell in a rural setting not far from Greenwood lake. Just off a country road so no noise, but your neighbors and they are 30-40 feet away. Very large level gravel sites. - Seawolf

This is a nice small park located within 1 mile of Lake Greenwood. The park is an easy drive from I-26 and is 25 miles from Greenwood, SC. Sites are long, so they can handle any rig. View from our windshield was to a large field with scattered trees, Very nice! Back in lots are great. Every lot has 50 amp, water & sewer. Owner/Manager is great. I was on lot #6 and I got satellite no problem. Crazy Parrot @ T-Roys Marina is 1/4 mile away and the food is great! They also have boat access. - Freightguy

Very enjoyable stay at Dreher Island Campground...love the location of the sites in relation to the lake. The gas and general store are really a great feature, as are the campsites being paved. --My suggestion would be boat ramps in close proximity to the camping sites. --Also, due to supply/demand, it would be nice to see more camping areas on the island. It is a wonderful place, but must book way in advance. (booked June 2019 in Oct 2018) - CSB801
Jun 2018 - $35.00
Here are a couple of the things about our recent trip. The campground is all paved in the front Campground so you're setting up on the pavement which makes things a whole lot better. The pavement is only the size of the camper, so when you step out your stepping right onto gravel and/or grass. The road coming into the front campground is narrow but it is pretty much at water level so easy access in and out of the water for you and your kayak if you wish to take one. Facilities are very nice. all the bathhouses have been remodeled and are even air conditioned and heated. this is very very nice during the summer time. The boat ramps can get very busy on the weekends. there's one that is set up for large tournaments so the boat traffic in the area is very high so the water became very choppy so be careful when using a kayak. There's not too much around the Island so driving to get something was roughly a 10 to 15 minute drive to the closest town of Chapin. Groceries store (6 miles), Walmart (20 miles) The camping store/Ranger store does have a couple of items like ice, basic camping supplies, propane, charcoal, Etc. They also has some food items. they also sell live bait for fishing and rent fishing rods. The Back Campground is up higher than water level so to access the water was a little more challenging but the sites were very beautiful. Some of them were not paved and were gravel. There were several swimming areas around the State Park which meant accessing the water was very easy. There's a couple of hiking trails The only thing that I would say is negative about this park is the campground roads are really narrow. Backing a trailer into your site can get kind of difficult especially when people around you have cars parked everywhere. - Stephen Howard
May 2018 - $35.00
This park is 30 minutes from the interstate which makes it time consuming to get to because the roads are narrow and winding. It is a beautiful park with lots of trees. Many of the sites are lakeside with great views. The sites on the lake are a lot cooler because of the breeze. Many of the sites are hard to back into. All of those on the inside of the loop are hard to get into, with sharp drop offs. The sites were all paved and fairly level. The sites are narrow with limited area to put chairs or tents. - winnie1

Grounds were wonderful. Most sites have a view of the lake as the sites are tiered. Roads are wide. Site #79 was spacious. It an an outdoor kitchen with a fireplace and BBQ. Pool and clubhouse are very nice. Not a ton to do in the area outside the park but if you are looking to kick back and relax, this is the place to be. We would definitely return to this park. - SCYurkins

Agree with the previous post, this is a beautiful and relaxing park with all of the amenities. Also Break on the Lake, a new waterfront restaurant opened in the area. - Altered Ego
Apr 2018 - $47.00
Highly Recommended! This an ownership park with 85 very large sites. They are concrete or pavers with patios most with seating, some with outdoor kitchens and all are nicely landscaped. The lake view lots are beyond words and the sunsets are breathtaking. The management is incredibly nice and accommodating. We met a handful of owners and they were all friendly. The club house is fully loaded with pool, spa, outdoor kitchen, fireplace and laundry are clean. There are 2 separate dog areas with bags provided, one that is quite large but neither are fenced. There is a boat launch and dock so you can bring your boat or rent one. The WiFi works for everyday email and basic surfing. We liked this park so much we are returning for a month in early fall. They price their sites at 3 levels - lake front, lake view and the last (and least) are sites that still have a lovely view but sit back from the water. The price noted is based on a weeks stay in a lake view lot. Although somewhat remote, there are 2 restaurants in Cross Hill (5 min drive) but Greenwood is 20 minutes away and has everything you could need. - Rollin Ritz

Small 16-site park. Friendly owner. Decent Wifi. Passport America. On our way from Asheville, NC to Atlanta, we found this little park and we were not disappointed. We scooped up the last available spot, and it looked like everyone else was longer-term. Owners were very nice and lived in the house in the front of the property. Not much to do in the park, but there was decent Wifi (was able to stream low quality with a few interruptions). The site was wide enough to park the truck next to the trailer. We had 50amp FHUs. 4LTE Verizon. - Unknown_Normal

This is a gem of a hidden campground. Located on a major highway with easy in out access. Very clean, friendly helpful owners and a great pool. They also take passport america without any stay restrictions. Far above our expectations. - Dixster
