Very nice state campground! We stayed at site #5. Only thing that I did not like about the campground was the loop road. The loop road was not in good shape. Another camper could not back into site #8 due to the condition of the loop road and the trees. With our 33 ft RV, it was stressful driving thru the winding loop but we made it without hitting any trees. Watch out for drain ditches on the sides of the loop road! For this reason, we would probably not stay here again although we loved the site itself. The natural bridge trail was nice and we did it with 3 dogs and 3 kids but it can be tricky and slippery in sections. In my opinion, site #2 is easiest to back into. Site #3 is not bad either. Site #4 is a nice pull thru. Our site #5 is hard to get into if you have a big rig but wonderful site once you are in! Bathrooms were very clean but not updated. Two out of 3 toilets in the ladies' restroom were out. Showers were clean (no doors / just curtains). Park is thrash free which means that thrash cans have been removed. Pack it in / Pack it out. - Tatiana

Although this park is small it is a great getaway for rest with trails and a park museum. It allows easy acess to two great lakes. Easy to make Reservations through state parks web site. We stayed in the RV section and camped in a tent (tent section was full of scouts but they were quite a mouses) but we now have a popup trailer for our next visit this fall. Good for a stop over on hwy 11 or a week of rest!! - goldfarmer

We stayed at Devil's Fork for a short fall getaway. It was a little late for full Fall Color but there was still enough patchy coverage that the park and surrounding area were beautiful. The campground is a bit tight but nothing un-navigable. The have a lot to do there and this would be a great park for families in the summer. The facilities are outstanding and staff was very helpful when needed. We'll definitely be back. - sc_shrpshtr
Oct 2018 - $28.00
Can see lake Jocasse thru the trees. Sites 41, 40, back up to water. Looked level but isn't. Asphalt. ATT ,2 bars no wifi several air tv. Grill and fire ring combo. Bathrooms good, clean. Roomy showers. Walked down behind our site on a path thru the woods to the lake, beachy area. Dump station tilts the wrong way, so our tanks didn't get throughly emptied. - 48 State Goal
Jun 2017 - $46.00
Beautiful area on the shores of Lake Jocasse. Getting there in our 37ft Motorhome was a little unsettling as the roads to the park are not exactly big rig friendly. The park itself is nice, the campground is a little tight and roads to sites are definitely not for big rigs. Sites are not the most level. We were in site 59 which was long enough for our rig and tow car. Site was clean. Didn't use bath house but took a peek - looked a little worn and like it could use some updating. We did use the laundry which was in next loop over and it was "okay" - not the cleanest facility. Since it was not in walking distance we had to take dirty clothes in car. Parked as close to laundry as we could and when we returned to our car, we had a warning ticket for parking in a lot, only 2 others cars there, that was designated for tent campers. The park needs to designate parking for those using the laundry facility. Also, upon check in, the park staff was not the friendliest. Seemed annoyed with tending to campers waiting to check in and abruptly gave us directions to camp site on park map that turned out to be inaccurate. Don't think we will camp here again mainly because of not being big rig friendly but will definitely plan a day trip to park to enjoy the beautiful lake. - Highway Honu

nice campground with paved roads. White Oak section sites are further apart. What's nice about this park is the hiking trails with waterfalls and a lake. - RedwineRVing
Aug 2018 - $90.00
We stayed here for 3 nights. This was the last rv section at the end of a very winding road. Only lot avaiable I was told. There were several lots vacant in other parts that people came on the 3rd night. The bathrooms and showers were nasty. Wet towels on the floor until the day we left. Mud was everywhere inside the B/R. Lots had just power and water, but there was the smell of someone dumping his tanks. I spoke to a Jr Ranger (twice) bout the dirty bath, showers and the smell. The only person that had a hose out was the site host. The Jr. Ranger looked the other way. I found out that he never passed the word to the park admin. The main check in is a long way from the parking lot . There is no drive up for handicap people. There are plenty af H/C spaces but it was a long walk to the door. Move your H/C parking close to the check in building !!!!!!!!!!!!! We had no cell phone, tv reception was poor and power went out for a time . Couldn't sleep CPAP has to have power. Never again will I leave my generator at home ! And never again will I stay there. - SubVet SSBN619
Oct 2015 - $19.00
This is one of our favorite camping locations in spite of the minor problems pointed out by other reviews.
The Roads are a bit narrow, some of the sites aren't perfectly level. We also found some erosion where the gravel driveways into the sites leave the paved loop.
BUT - The views here are amazing. The lake is fantastic. But mostly this park has some of the best hiking in the South. Great trails that pass many waterfalls and creeks. It's also great to take drives into the Jocastes Gorges and Ceasar's Head areas and enjoy the views, waterfalls and other hikes.
We found the staff very friendly.
But the BEST THING about the park - there is almost NO Cell service and NO Wifi except at the store. So we can focus on camping without being bothered by the office, or tempted to play with our electronic devices. - Buddy Ray

This is a clean park for adults. There are occasional distant barking dogs, but otherwise it's very quiet. Sites are gravel and dirt, near level, wide, not especially long, with no shade. Water faucets are somewhat below ground, making connection awkward. Some sites have unthreaded sewer connections. Voltage is good. Roads in the park are gravel, adequately wide, in good condition, with a few small potholes. The road into the park is asphalt, in very good condition, but essentially one lane; there's not room for two larger RVs to get past each other. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi is strong; typical speed is 60 kB/s, but can be much slower. Verizon LTE works well. Laundry: 1 top-loader ($1.50), 1 dryer ($1.50 for 45 min.). There is one shower. Rate is the daily rate; there are also very reasonable weekly and monthly rates. Cash only. - wjzcbn
Apr 2014 - $25.00
Lovely park with two lakes, fishing and surrounded by trees. Very quiet and private. Gated security. The owner is very nice and honest. I accidentally gave her $20 too much and she came back to return it. The only negative is some of the sites are not very level. We couldn't set up in the first one because of this. If we are ever in this area again we definitely would stay here. - DennisD
Apr 2010 - $20.00
A clean and quiet facility. Campground appears to be a work in progress: still developing. Road directions were a bit nebulous, but eventually found the place. All in all, not bad. - MaryAnnFrederick

We stayed here Labor Day weekend. Was very hesitant at first after reading other reviews, but so glad we took a chance! This campground is wonderful! We loved it so much that we stayed the whole week and going back again this weekend! This has been one of the cleanest campgrounds we have stayed at. The bathrooms/showers are constantly cleaned throughout the day. The staff go above and beyond, keeping everything clean and safe for visitors. You can tell they really care about their park! My 4 year old granddaughter really loved the putt-putt area and beach area. We stayed in a 25 foot camper, so had no issues with site being too small. Cannot wait to return!! - CDSham
Jun 2017 - $25.00
First of all the staff is great! We had a reservation for a 44ft campsite and we only have a 30 ft motorhome. Easy fit right? Nope! Not only could we not fit on that site (site 98), we also couldn't fit on any of the other 8 or 9 sites they had available for the two nights we had made reservations for. We had to leave and go find another place to stay! The problem with this campground is that the gravel sites have not been maintained well at all. There are a lot of washout areas. The site selector is also very WRONG.....Here is what I mean...The site selector says you are getting a site that may be 40 plus feet long, but that just isn't there. If you wanna go...you need to go in advance and actually see the site. The sites we saw were also very unlevel...even to the point where if we could have fit would not be able to level up our coach. I would not recccomend this campground....but as I mentioned the staff is great! They did give us a refund. The other loop may be better but we were looking at catfish cove. - Sgarrett415
Sep 2014 - $25.00
Full disclosure - we drove through this campground but decided not to stay here. Sites are small gravel areas not well defined. Very limited sites for large rigs. Suitable for a one night stop but there are better choices in the area for longer stays. - linnemj

This is our 5th stay at this fabulous RV Park. Big open sites, very easy to navigate, good grass between sites, lovely staff, clean restrooms/showers, picnic table, large pool, grounds well tended, trash collection, excellent wifi. The park is on beautiful Lake Keowee. Peaceful and brilliant night skies. We certainly recommend. - Harris England
Jun 2018 - $54.00
Park sits on a hill over looking a nice lake. Roads are paved and pull through pads are gravel, long, level and spacious and with a picnic table. There are no trees. Our campsite was close to lake so view was terrific. Wifi was slow. Park has docks and boat ramp. - Tom Willing
Sep 2017 - $50.00
Short, sweet and to the point: We'll be back! Beautiful campground on Lake Hartwell. Easy to navigate with our 45'. This place was really nice, clean, spacious, great hook-up, lots of water pressure, internet was also good. The site we had was quite level. In fact, all the sites looked good and level. Driving in and out was easy and had more than ample room to navigate. - Full_Timers_2017

We stayed at Palmetto Cove RV for 3 months while my fiancé worked. The park was very well maintained and the grass and flowers were manicured on a regular basis. The view of the mountains was spectacular. There is a very nice path that leads down to a bridge that leads to a big rock on the Saluda River, if you walk a little further you can get to a cute little "beach" area that has a fire pit and a little bench to sit on. Fishing and wading in the Saluda is fun for all. There is a very nice pavilion with rocking chairs, table and chairs, fire place, grills and smokers that are available for all to use. There is a lounge area up at the pavilion also. The office has washers and dryers that handle larger loads. There is Free wifi too. The people at the park were extremely nice, welcoming and accommodating. The park is dog friendly, as long as you keep them on a leash. Love this place!!!! My fiancé, and 2 dogs can't wait to come back! Just a wonderful park all around! I do not know that daily rate, ours was monthly at $500.00. - Fulltimers-42footRV Carhauler_ 3dogs

This RV park hits all five stars for me for convenience, electricity, sewage access, easy in and out, but most of all REALLY, REALLY nice people. - nancymoureau
Jul 2016 - $25.00
This is a somewhat unusual park, in that it is actually owned by a non-profit organization with origins back to Airstream. In recent years the campground has been opened to anyone with a self-contained RV as the campground does not have shower facilities. Sites are full hookup, complete with municipal water supply. If you're looking for a playground, pool, picnic table at each site, this is probably not the place for you. However if you're looking for a quiet, peaceful place with some of the friendliest campers you'll ever encounter anywhere, then this is a place for you. There is a small river about 200 feet off the south end of the park for a refreshing swim. Also there is a large covered area with many rockers for you to sit and enjoy the sun setting on the mountains to the west. If you have a larger RV, this is one of the very few places in the South Carolina foothills that can easily accommodate the largest RV's made. Palmetto Cove is close to many fantastic waterfalls, hiking trails and several very large South Carolina State Parks, albeit all with very limited or no accommodations for larger RVs. The campground always has full time volunteer hosts on site. About the only time the campground is really busy is when a rally is being hosted. Though they do not take reservations, a call ahead is suggested if you want to avoid being there during a rally. Other times they do space the campers out to give everyone a lot of space. Almost all of the campground sites provide good satellite access, and there are several strong over-the-air TV stations also available. Verizon and AT&T signals are weak in the campground but workable throughout most of the campground. - Johnson's

We had a great time at Solitude Point. Very clean and the owners were very helpful in making our stay the best ever. Our site was on a concrete pad with table. Many water falls were very close and Brevard nc was also close to visit. We will certainly return to Solitude Point! - dave edwards
May 2018 - $40.00
Very narrow road to top of hill to register! Staff very nice and takes you back down to your site. Lower sites gravel, upper sites paved. We are 45' so had a large back in - not easy to level but doable for a few days. Very peaceful. Wifi excellent. Off the beaten path but not too far from scenic drives. - Retired FL CSM
Nov 2017 - $20.00
We stayed at Solitude Pointe for a little less than a month (reflected in price above) and enjoyed the peaceful park like atmosphere very much. This is the first campground we stayed at that provides an outside garbage can that they empty. That is so much nicer than seeing bags of trash everywhere. I highly recommend the Sat evening group camp fire -it's a great chance to meet others and enjoy a lovely fire. We paid a monthly rate plus electricity cost. Laundry is $2.50 per wash and $2.50 per dry on the honor system. Our site was a bit difficult to back into and required us to remove our hitch, it was just too much of a drop back into it, but the owner helped and it was much appreciated. But once in, it was level and paved so we stayed very clean. Our Verizon was non existent so we finally purchased a booster and then got three bars with that. Wifi was adequate but a bit spotty over the month. I think the owner installed some new repeaters and then it was much better. If you want to use a dish, I recommend the sites closer to the road, there is just no way at the top. Hiking is the main attraction around these parts. - Djinfl

The park itself was more of a subdivision. All the lots and the roads were well thought out. The office was nice, staff friendly. My site was large enough to accommodate my rig and tow vehicle albeit a little tight lengthwise. I had a nice view of the pond. The pad was level and all the services worked as they should. The wifi was okay. I was clocking enough speed to surf the net but not anything else. To be fair though, the local provider was there installing faster service. Overall, very nice place to stay for awhile. - -Stony-

The Mountain Views on the Ridge lots are fantastic! The resort is now managed by a professional management company. All sites are full hook up and almost all have high speed internet (all will have high speed internet within two weeks). One ridge lot recently sold for 1.6 million. This has been listed as one of the 15 best RV resorts in the US. Very nice power pedestals, water pressure here is excellent. - WKR
May 2018 - $85.00
This Class A ownership resort, with rental spaces available when the owners are not on site, is located at an elevation of 3200 feet in the Blue Ridge Mountains. LOTS of twists and turns on the way to the park, so it is EXTREMELY important to follow the driving directions provided by the resort and not your GPS. Be very aware of bridge heights when driving to this resort, as some roads have low bridges under which most motor coaches will not be able to pass, thus reiterating the importance of following the resort's directions. It is very advantageous to book online, as you are able to view each available site (pull in or back in) and select the best for your needs...from a basic site to one with built-ins. Upon arrival, check-in was smoothly conducted by very friendly and helpful office personnel. Once checked in, we were guided to our spot by a resort employee. Sites are nicely spaced, allowing for privacy. This resort is beautifully landscaped and interior roads are wide and easily navigable, even for the largest of coaches. Located at the top of the resort (the Ridge) is a beautiful clubhouse, pool, fitness room, and tennis/pickleball courts, along with some gorgeous homes. There is a second, smaller pool located in the lower portion of the resort. A 9-hole par 3 golf course winds its way throughout the resort. While staying at the resort, we traveled to Whitewater Falls, Gorges State Park, Brevard, NC, Chimney Rock State Park, and the Biltmore Estate. We had a beautiful spot in the resort, but because we constantly come and go touring the area surrounding where we stay, and because the roads to the resort are not the best (some are currently being improved), we will not return to this resort. If you use this resort as a destination...staying here once you arrive, then this may be just perfect for you. - HRTravelers
