We thought it had a nice park setting, but the sites are so close together, you can't open your awning, and you get to sit right by your neighbors sewer hose. Real inviting. NOT.

After we settled in, we went to pick up some groceries, and when got back it was pouring rain and our site was a lake. We had to sit in our truck and wait because we couldn't get to our door. What a mess.

We are Good Sam Members and they would not honor it because they lower their rates. It didn't make sense.

They have to improve their showers. No place to put your belongings, not even a shelf for your glasses. If you are a bigger person, you won't do well in their showers. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The driveway from the south is a hairpin turn, so enter slowly. Check-in was quick and efficient. Although our reservation was prepaid, a credit card was provided "just in case". We were given a map of the area. The office/general store is well stocked. They have beer on tap and wine tasting. We were directed to our site and the guys were very helpful in spotting our rigs. Spaces are close but plenty of room for slides. Lots of trees and grass. A nice quiet place to stay. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This area is rich in things to see - Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park. Definitely tour this park - morning/evening is best if you want to see more wildlife. We visited mid day but saw the buffalo herd, donkeys, a couple goats. Cute main street area.

Think of your best KOA stereotype and you have this park in mind: Crowded, narrow sites, lots of kids (with little adult supervision), and expensive. They have a small pool which is crowded but good for a dip on a hot day. Utilities were fair due to the amount of rigs they pack in: water pressure low especially in the morning, Electric would drop below 116 volts at time and never over 120v. Wifi is very interment, sometimes works great other times cannot get internet connection. If this park would take out 20% of the sites they might be able to improve. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in mid October so it was not very crowded. The property is absolutely beautiful with a creek running right through it. There is also a walking/hiking/bicycling trail right next to the property. The laundry facilities were new and very clean. Showers were very clean although a little small and possibly crowded if the park were full. Full hook ups, Cable TV, and wifi that worked most of the time! We would definitely stay here again. Tips for other Campers:

Good gas station just up the road, north of this property. Crooked Creek has propane available to purchase.

It is the perfect location to see nearby Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park and many other sights.

Was guided to a pull thru spot. Very level and all hook ups close. Cell phone service was good, their cable tv was good. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Had a problem with washing machine, gave me back money and went to a different machine. Spots were a little close but we were there off season so was no problem. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We didn't think this was a resort park but was clean and a nice place to walk the dog. The sites are real close but since we were their in the off season we didn't have anyone camped next to us. Their was road noise but it was quiet at night. The staff were real nice. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

I cannot recommend this park highly enough. We had initially made a 7 day reservation at the nearby KOA but after 3 hours cancelled and looked for other options. We found this gem of a park not too far way and loved our visit. They have cable TV, great WiFi and 4G cell phone service, none of which are found at the KOA. The owners could not have been more friendly or helpful. They are originally from the south and bring that southern hospitality to their family owned park. We would highly recommend that you stay here. Only minor issues are all sites are back in, no pull throughs, but the owner directs you to your site and helps you back in easily. Water pressure is a little low but no big deal. Loved our stay and we are so glad we found this park and would definitely come back again. Give it a try, you will not be sorry. I hate to say it, but they really need to take resort out of the park name. The sites are tighter than any other we have ever stayed in. There are campers, tents and everything right next to each other. It is not quiet at all. It is also right on the road so there is quite a bit of noise from that.

I was really shocked at the rating of 9 for beauty from Good Sam, that makes no sense to me.

The people in the office were very nice and there is a nice little store for essentials. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Not all pull-thru spaces have sewer hook-ups, yet you pay the same price. Ours didn't have sewer, and it was tight getting into the spot. Very close to each other. Grass sites. The dump station is awkward, far off the lane and back-in. Was told to enjoy the All-You-Can-Eat pancake breakfast as if it was either included in the HIGH rent or was inexpensive. Pancakes $1 each, sausages $3, bacon $3, eggs $3, coffee $2!!! Not exactly all-you-can-eat--more like "eat what you can afford"! Difficulty in getting onto Wi-Fi; SLOW Wi-Fi in the evening. Otherwise, the facility was clean and quiet. No road noise. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

The bathrooms were way too small for this size campground, were not clean, and are not handicap accessible as their website states. WiFi did not work anytime during our stay. The sites were grass covered and wet most of our stay and it had not been recently cut. Would not recommend. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

The park sites were extremely close (3-4' apart). We had reservations for 5 days with full hookups. When we got there the owner said that "full hookups" to them meant the "honey truck" would come to your sight twice weekly and drain your black water. With the gray water we were told to drain the gray water on to the ground. This is very unsanitary. Due to a power failure on and off all night we left the next day. We made reservations 30 days in advance and received a horrible RV spot. The park was clean, but you were crammed in. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The location is ideal for exploring the Rapid City area, minutes from Mt Rushmore. Bathrooms and showers were always clean and laundry facility was great. Good breakfast at a reasonable price was served daily from 7-10 am. Staff was friendly and helpful. Be warned, the sites are very tight. My awning nearly touched my neighbor. And the "free" Wi-Fi does not include iOS devices, so no iPhone or iTouch can access it. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We will not stay here again. The sites are very close together and, as some of the sites are back to back, you constantly have people walking through your site to get to the pool, bathrooms, or laundry. We had tenters using our water spigot because they had no water available. The electric box for the camper in back of us was laying on the ground and some sites shared water so if both sites were using water there was no pressure. Because the sites were so close together it was difficult to get rigs in and out. On the positive side the workampers were excellent which is the reason I gave this campground the rating I did. Stayed here three nights a week ago. Only 2 good things to say about this place. It was clean and quiet. If you like to be very very very close to your next door camper then this place is for you. It is not for me. I could not even put up our awning because we were so close to our neighbor. Had to move the picinic table every time just to get to our camper or not even use the table. No place to set up a lawn chair except in the drive way. I would not say this is a good place to stay unless you want to spit on your neighbors camper. The only reason I gave it a 2 rating was because it was clean and quiet. We checked out other camp grounds and found better and cheaper ones around. You just got to look.at 42.88 for this place with Good Sam club price. I found better and more room at others for 32.00 with full hook ups. You all can stay here if you want but as for me I will not. Overall Rating:

Overall, this campground is OK. We stayed here in October which was close to the end of the camping season. The sites are somewhat close but there are nice pine trees between the sites. There are open grass fields and a "crooked creek" surrounding the camp ground. It is very close to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments. We were able to visit both locations in one day. Campfires were not allowed. The person in the office was friendly, but the grounds keeper did not seem very nice. He took away our picnic table and shut off our water hose without talking to us. The park still has several more days before it closes for the season. We would stay here again but not in October. We camped at Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
