Nice park but the highway beside it is very busy. It quiets down at night so we ended up staying for a week. Close to Walmart and Mount Rushmore was only about 20 minutes away. Very nice owner and staff. Nice Laundry facilities. Might stay here again. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Motorhome.

We were given, what the office said, the best site in the park. Site F. It is a beautiful site and very roomy. It's at the far right side of the park. It's a bit of a walk to the laundry but showers and restrooms are very close. There were several camp workers in the office when we checked in. They let us check early which was very nice. The entire office was so friendly when we came in. My only issue...and it's not huge, is the office said out site had good WiFi. We had nothing. Not even close. The gentleman that helped us back in to our site was very honest. He said NONE of the sites have good WiFi. I feel that advertising good WiFi when it isn't is wrong. We didn't even have cell service at this site. But, out cell is T Mobile...we ended up going into town and changing to Verizon, because we have had issues with coverage. That's not the parks fault tho. All in all, it's a nice park. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is conveniently located but not designed for big rigs, particularly if you are assigned to a pavilion site. The photos on their website do not currently reflect the park. The very narrow roads have disintegrated, toad parking infringes on the road. Be careful trusting the escort to safely guide you into the site nor expect the office to help resolve a problem. Trees dropped a sticky substance on both vehicles (seasonal?) Verizon service was minimal, park is located in a valley. Departure means a heavy pull up a hill. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Motorhome.

It's a ways off the I-90 ( about 12 miles). In the heart of the Black Hills. We were just there overnight. Hook ups were good including cable but Wi-Fi is very slow. Verizon signal wasn't bad. Roads in the campground are very tight for a large rig (40ft 5th wheel), but they do escort you to your site and help you get in. There was a little covered patio next to our site that is shared with the camper next door. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Older park. Tight turns and narrow. Took three guys and several attempts to get us around obstacles into a pull through site. Site was not level. Two rv's share a covered patio and fire pit (see picture). The sites are in opposite directions so your door and your neighbor's door face each other. Strange and a little too intimate for me. Two picnic tables but right next to each other. Ok WiFi but it was down for two days. We were given no explanation or probable timeline for it coming back up. Barely enough room for our 36 ft fiver with truck parked sideways in front. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is NOT Big Rig friendly. Hope you have good neighbors cause they will be close. Toad Parking non existent. We were escorted to our site and jumped over 4 sites and trails to get to ours. with power hook ups and tree limbs and other RVs to avoid. This CG was built in the 70's when a 34' Winnebago Chieftain was the big rig of the day. They were polite but they have visions of parking anybody anywhere. I will not be here again and will warn any body that they should find another CG, which there are many closer to the Black Hills area. We were in a 45 ft MH. Find another CG first if you are a Big Rig. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is mainly full timers. Looks very old. Sites are small. Roads are small. The average RV age is 15 to 20 years old. Wife had trouble with laundry machines. 1 full timer lives in a tent. No car. Has bicycle. That's a glamping bum. Wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Washrooms were clean, our site was a spacious pull through, the showers had abundant hot water, the WIFI was excellent, the cable was great. They refilled our propane tank while we were there and returned it to our site and helped us put it back. I suspect this campground would crazy busy summer and the spaces are not that big but we liked it so much we stayed two nights instead of the one we had planned. My only complaint is they have no specified fenced dog play area although you can walk your dog anywhere and they are dog friendly otherwise. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The road to Mount Rushmore on 16A/244 through Keystone is very steep and demanding grade both going up and down in several places. I would recommend that if you plan to go to Mt Rushmore either leave your trailer behind or use the 16/385/244 road further south through Hill City. We barely got up 16A/244 and a ranger said they often see rigs having to stop and get tows on the northern route in. We took the 244/385 out and had no trouble and it is all at a much more reasonable grade.

Site 49B. Staff at the desk let us move to try and get better satellite reception. Park is outdated a bit. Site was gravel, but level. We did use the laundry facility and it was clean. You do share a picnic table with the site next door. Sites are a bit tight. Pool looked nice, but it was drained. We did arrive after hrs so site #'s were a bit hard to see. Office left a map for us on the door. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Motorhome.

We were put in a site that was the exact size of our 5th wheel. The site was at the end a row in the direct sunlight. Temps around 100/102 degrees. No space to put our awning out. There were shaded lots that stayed empty for the time that we were there. You share a small covered area with your neighbor with 2 picnic tables under it. There was no room for your town vehicle on the lot so you had to park it on the little lane in front of the RV along with everyone else doing the same. So when you went to hook up to leave, if the RV & vehicle across from you was still there you couldn't leave. We left one day early as did the people across from us. We asked if we would get a refund and the lady just pointed to a sign that said no refunds. Very rude. The only place to walk your dog was right by a busy highway. Would never stay there again. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Phoned ahead and was told that nobody would be available between noon and 4pm so just pick a site and register after. Did that, then an elderly man walked up with an attitude, upset I hadn't stopped at the office. He threatened me with physical violence, then phoned the police. They must know him because they didn't show up. We hooked the toad back up and left. By far, the most bizarre, irrational behaviour I've seen in park staff in over 20 years of RV travel.

Not many parks open that time of year, maybe these "park hosts" were hoping to not have guests, but then just be closed. Park seemed good, but owners need to know how their hosts are treating potential guests. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Motorhome.
