Stayed here 2 weeks, and while at first we were put off by the traffic noise from Rt 16, in time it become just background and was not too bad. Economical too for the area. Power was good and stable, water pressure adequate. No cable TV, but OTA had decent selection. Verizon signal very good. Wifi was iffy, and of course better when campground was emptier. Roads and sites are all gravel and seemed fairly level, with good maneuverability and decent spacing. Bath/shower house a bit dank but serviceable, although we did not use their showers. Owner has For Sale sign in front of campground, and is a 1-man show, but he is still diligent about maintaining the place and provides personalized service. Little camp store does not have much, but does have nice selection of DVD's and books to borrow. Wild rabbits all over are fairly entertaining...especially for the dog! They do accept and hold mail for campers. While I would look for more scenic campgrounds in and around Custer State Park on a return trip, I would not rule out staying here again, as it was good base of operations for our many day trips in area. We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

So much outdoor stuff to do in Black Hills and extended area, from Badlands to Devil's Tower, 2 weeks was just about right for us. Great craft brewing scene in region too, pick up a guide. 99-cent pancake breakfast at Ft. Hays , in walking distance, not bad deal. Stop at Black Hills National Forest headquarters practically right next door for trail guides and maps. Stratobowl Trail just down Rt 16 is pretty good and leads to interesting bit of aviation history- who knew?!?

Campground has a good location for visiting Rapid City and surrounding attractions. Located right off 16, but we didn't notice any road noise. The couple run the place and were very friendly and helpful, offering a few suggestions for some stops we might add to our travels in the area. Sites were spaced well and pretty level, mostly pull-throughs. Bathrooms were clean. Newer washers/dryers. If you aren't looking for a resort to keep your kids busy, this campground is perfect. We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a "no frills" campground, but for its purpose, I could not find any reason to give it less than a 10! If you are looking for a resort, bypass this one, but if your purpose is a safe, clean park to stay while you explore the area, I highly recommend it! The owners are a wonderful couple that live on-site. They are welcoming, friendly and informative, especially about the area attractions. The park is mostly grass with some gravel, level, and well maintained. Easy access from the highway, and very centrally located to Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, Keystone, ( about 25 minutes) and if you want to head north, easy to reach Sturgis, Spearfish and Deadwood (about an hour ride). There is some construction going on right next door, but they are done by 5 and only work M-F. E were gone most of the day anyway. Laundry room is small- 2 washers, 2 dryers. One of the washers cost $1.00, the other and the 2 dryers are "honor system" for $1.00 each.
Beautiful views from the back of the park. We were very comfortable here! We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Motorhome.

Sites were too close together for minimal privacy, no cable TV, minimal intermittent Internet connection at best, no fire rings, shared picnic table, very low water pressure, and the topper this morning - the strong smell of an over flowing septic tank. Okay for a one night stay..... Maybe... We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Clean, well managed park. Central location for Rushmore, Badlands, Devils Tower, et. al. No cable tv, but over air local channels clear, and our satellite worked perfectly. North-facing full hook up sites are gravel. there are some sites with side by side utilities, during high season if doubled up, the south-facing sites are grass. Low season, the owners only assign the north facing spaces, so we had a double sized site with picnic table, room for our tow vehicle beside our MH and plenty of grass for the dog. Stayed for a week, we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ask the park owners for advice! They had great maps, visitor brochures, and some insider suggestions on what is worth paying for and what might not be worth the price. We would have missed Needles Hwy and Iron Mountain road without their suggestions.

Firehouse Brewery downtown Rapid City has an excellent pork tenderloin sandwich.

Great basic park! Full RV hookups, mostly pull-throughs, tent sites, cabins. Small playground. We only needed a place to park as we toured the area, good central location. Very neat clean, grass and gravel sites. All kept mowed neatly. Managers are very nice and accommodating. We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The park was well maintained and campsites were spacious. We were escorted to our site by park staff who made sure our hook-ups were working properly. The managers were very friendly and informative about the surrounding attractions, weather, etc. There isn't any cable, but was able to view about 9 stations with camper antenna. WiFi was weak, but we had our own MiFi. We would stay at this park again. We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is a nice park, does not have all the clubhouses and junk like the big corporate parks do, which is why we love it. The spaces are level gravel with grass between. The owners are so nice and told us many great things to see and do in the area. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at TeePee Campground for one week. The sites were spacious and everything was working correctly. The hostess showed us things to see and do and especially scenic drives that we shouldn't miss in the area. The bathrooms and laundry were clean and the campground was quiet. TeePee does not have many amenities, but we do not park here to swim or have parties. We are too busy seeing all the sights! After we get home, we visit with other campers and it is very pleasant to talk with them in a well-mannered park. The owner reminds dog owners to keep their pets on a leash and I have seen her pick up waste and garbage if necessary! We used the Wi-Fi every night and had no problems with it. We could see that the owners installed new sewer hookups so they keep up on improvements because they care about their park. We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I will say that the park was quiet, and the bathrooms very clean. On the down side, the WI-FI hardly ever worked and we were very close to the main office. SO, if your really needing WI-FI, this is not the place to be. My biggest complaint was the fact that the manager has 5 cats in her office. Was going to get myself a cup of coffee until I saw a cat sitting on top of the coffee maker (YUCK). I think that would be a health issue. Another issue was the fact that I had a electric extension cord plugged into the 110 socket. The manager told me that I was paying for 30 amp and that I needed to unplug it. I told her I cook outside and not in my camper, and that it is a 15 amp, and I was paying for 30 amp and that it is only used when I used the air conditioning. So that made me very unhappy. SO, I wouldn't stay there again, especially for health concerns! We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week while doing some touristy things in the Black Hills. It was a very basic park, no amenities. They had just put a bunch of new water piping in, and it was muddy in areas. The hook-ups were very oddly configured making it hard to hook up all things at once. The water and electric were usable at the same time, but the sewer hook up was about 20 feet in front of the water and electric. We had to use our tanks while there, and unhook and move forward to dump the tanks when we were ready to leave. The Wi-Fi did not work for us even though we were right next to the office. Although it was the cheapest we could find in the area, we really got what we paid for. Will look elsewhere next time. We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for several days. The sites are mostly level and grass. Good location if you are looking for a central location to see the surrounding sights like Mt Rushmore, Custer State park, Sturgis, Deadwood, Badlands, Devils Tower and other attractions. This is the place for value and also convenience to Rapid City. This was the lowest park that we found with hookups. We enjoyed our stay and will return. We camped at Tee Pee Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
