If you're going to be stranded by a freak winter snowstorm, this is the place to do it! Fortunately, the storm didn't come until after we'd already taken in the area sights. The front office was consistently friendly and accommodated our extended stay with a neighborly and inclusive air. Built 12 years ago, this place truly is a resort, neatly manicured and well-maintained. With over 200 RV concrete sites, paved internal roads, ample dumpsters, numerous artistic sculptures, amphitheater, pool, clubhouse & bar, pickle ball courts, Dog Park, playground, hiking trails, propane, rental cabins and wedding venue, there's not much overlooked. Immaculate laundry/bath/showers in multiple locations. Still, there were some minor issues. Site 107 was extra-long, but surprisingly, not level. Our water connection had a moderate leak but maintained good pressure. Electricity was reliable and located mid-coach. 3 sewer connections offered unusual flexibility. While Wi-Fi was weak (even during off-season), cable was strong and offered many clear premium stations. The off-season is a definite value. A great RV stop in a great location! We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Located a short distance off I-90, the CG is just minutes from the casinos of Deadwood and a few minutes more from the town of Spearfish.

The developer of the CG also built a convenience store/fuel stop close by for the convenience of guests. Diesel fuel prices matched those in greater Spearfish. If you need DEF from the pump, you can find it in nearby Belle Fourche (10 miles).

More like a resort than a campground. Stayed during lower cost season so price was great for amenities we got. Central location for Spearfish, Deadwood, Devil Tower. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

We love this part of the country! LOVE IT! And this is an excellent RV resort. So much to do in the area, close to pretty much everything. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. Beautiful cabins for those without an RV. We've held family reunions here twice. 5 days and 6 nights each time, and no one was ready to leave. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Great RV park. We have stayed her a few times before & it has never disappointed. This time it was just one night 9/15. Sites are large, nicely spaced, utilities ate thoughtfully placed & all work as they should. Can't say much that hasn't already been mentioned. Having spent the previous night in a very muddy CG we were quite pleased with the concrete sites. We will always stay here when in the area. We camped in a 44' coach & didn't disconnect toad. Site was plenty large enough. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

It was Sept 14 and I think the season was about over. The cafe wasn't open, nor the pool, which were a disappointment. The park is beautiful. Roads are paved and large. Site had grass area. Not much road noise. The Frawley Farm is a distance. I think this would be a really nice stay when all services are available. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Definitely at the high end of our budget. Beautiful park. Laid out with angled lots with plush grass between sites. Three laundry buildings. $2.50/wash and dry. Minutes from Spearfish, Deadwood, lead and Sturgis. Enclosed dog parks for large and small dogs. We saw some washing their rigs. Something most parks discourage. Stayed 5 1/2 days. RV park was clean and facilities were always clean and kept up. Did not use the hot tub or pool but it looked clean and inviting. They have a venue for weddings and special occasions, and had a wedding going on while we stayed....no interruptions to us, they are off in the middle of the park. The resort was very nice but the Service was bad. The employee who checked us in was unfriendly and gave no instructions about where our campsite was, where the dumpsters were, etc. She handed us a map and said you're in back in #--- then walked away. When we saw they had a pickleball court (no net out), we went to the office to inquire about the net and the same employee said 'just use the tennis net' we pressed her for a pickleball net and she shrugged and said she'd look for one. She returned a few minutes later with a net. Her job is customer service, she didn't seem interested in wanting to help or in making the customer feel welcome. There were other employees but we did not have any encounters wjtb them, so we can't say they are all like this bad. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Wow. If ever there was a 10 rated resort, this is it. We stayed 7 nights in a 40 foot fifth wheel and would have gladly stayed longer. We were here for a RV rally with 30 coaches atending. The park is already huge and still has room to grow. The sites are long and generously wide. All sites are paved and have a table picnic table; no fires allowed. Grass and trees between sites but not enough to block your rooftop satellite. You have all resort facilities including pool, game room, meeting areas, and dog walk. There are beautiful cabins also if you have guest joining you. All utilities worked flawlessly. Site 335 was a backin. Don't let that scare you! The roads are plenty big and the site good and wide. You back onto a berm which blocks the view of the road and the road noise. It was great and I prefer this to the pull thru sites. The location in the black hills of North Dakota is perfect. Get outside and have some fun! We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a really upscale park... I've never seen so may Prevosts in one place! The roads are wide and paved and the sites have concrete slabs, although the back-in sites were narrow. The staff member who attended to me when I checked in appeared to not be thrilled with her job and was not particularly helpful when explaining how to get to our site. Wonderful campground in the Black Hills with scenic views of the hills. Plenty of well kept grass between sites and your neighbors choice of 3 sewer connections keeps it away from your picnic table. Level, concrete pads with concrete patio and table. Lots of amenities including golf, tennis, basketball and pool. Sites are very long as the area is near Sturgis and some of the largest rigs and trailers available carrying motorcycles find sufficient space. Good WES and Wifi was lagging. Even though no Good Sam or other discounts were mentioned during their on line reservations, they were more than happy to apply the discount on check in for all nights. May be a little noisy if you camp close to the Sturgis rally time. Road noise is not a problem when inside, outside tolerable. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

This is my first 10! I always have something that can be improved, but nothing came to mind about Elkhorn Ridge. From the brilliant design and layout to the beautiful artwork around the park, I really liked everything. It's more expensive than a gravel parking lot, but I feel it a good value because of all you get here. If every state had ONE campground like Elkhorn, I'd be a happy camper. Just hanging around this gem of a campground was very relaxing and enjoyable. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

On the plus side, the pull-thru site we had was very long, level, concrete, with lots of room between us and our neighbors. Electric, water, and sewer utilities were fine. All of the internal roads are paved. The campground has a lot of facilities for families and gatherings. On the negative side, this campground has the worst wifi we've ever experienced, and the sad part is, they acknowledge that fact and won't do anything about it. The service is extremely slow (to the point of being unusable), and you have to sign on every 5-15 minutes (the service signs you out when it senses inactivity). The only way to try to fool the system is to slowly download a file or stream something so it senses that you're still there. And that seems to defeat the whole purpose. We spoke twice to the staff about our issues and they acknowledged that they were well aware of them, and said their manager knows. Considering the previous comments about the wifi, and the Q and A on this page, the management has known for some time and won't do anything about it. Also, they have a new bar (5 seats in the gift shop corner of the check-in building). They charge $7 for a pint of beer (before tip) that you can find anywhere else in Spearfish for $3-5. High prices and no atmosphere. Unless you're desperate for a drink, it should be avoided. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.
