We came for the rally and stayed the full 10 days. A little pricey, but we expected that going in and accepted that without hesitation. Our site was a long and level pull thru. They had shuttles that ran into town and to the Buffalo Chip. Unfortunately, there was not a lot of free flowing information from the park staff. It felt like pulling teeth when I was asking questions. As such, we did not use the shuttles because by the time we figured them out, it was easier to walk into town and ride our bike to the Chip. Very nice park! Definitely big rig friendly. If/When we go back, we will stay there again. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Motorhome.

There is an establishment onsite that serves beer, breakfast and dinner. We did not visit it, but everyone that we spoke to that did raved about quality and prices.

Overall Rating:

We waited until the annual motorcycle event was over to arrive in Sturgis. So this review is given aside from that iconic event. This is a large RV park with gravel roads and wide interior roads, making for easy maneuvering. Each site is a pull through with the exception of the sites at the upper bluffs which are back-in sites - these sites have a great view. We stayed in the lower section which is designated on their map as Custer Park; site 23. Each of the sites in that section have concrete slabs approximately 16' wide by 50' long. The rest of the sites are gravel and some have young trees that offer a bit of shade. The grounds are very well maintained and the utilities worked great. The restrooms are very clean and each (Men's and Women) have a laundry that was also clean and fresh. They have free wifi, but our Verizon hot spot worked just fine so we never used the park wifi. AT&T worked fine there as well. The booking and experience on site was supported by a friendly staff. Sitting just two blocks from Main Street, the park gives easy access to the little town and the walking trail in the city park nearby. And the park is set away from the highway to give you privacy and a relaxing, quiet stay. We stayed 4 nights and would definitely go back should our travels take us back in that area. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We used this park as our base camp while we explored the northern part of the Black Hills in day trips. While were there (Labor Day weekend) there was a Mustang car rally which we really enjoyed.

You can only stay 2 nights at the Passport Rate. Full hookup and parked on a not real level concrete pad, not a problem if you have levelors. A ways off one of the main roads so it is very quiet especially at night. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed in a cabin for a few nights while I explored the area. Staff was very friendly and always helpful. Enjoyed the potluck dinner where they provided the main dish and everyone from campground brought a side dish. Awesome way to meet your neighbors. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Cabin.

Park was clean and check-in was efficient. Most sites have a concrete pad for the RV. We were there on Father's Day and the park hosted a potluck where they provided the main dish. We on the lower level of the park but for motor homes mainly there is an upper level that has pull in sites with great views over the surrounding area. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for easy access to Deadwood and Devils tower. We made a mistake on our planning and overlooked a night in our 6 week cross country trip. When I realized we had no where to go the next night I called the office right at closing and they were gracious enough to grant us another night for us and our traveling friends and EVEN gave us our discount! We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park has several levels and is mostly gravel but many sites have cement pads. I think all sites are FHU with mostly pull through on the main level and pull in on the upper levels. There is no cable TV but most sites are satellite friendly. The bathrooms contain the laundry facilities. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 2 days using Passport America, and the only thing about that was there were a lot of spots with concrete pads, but I guess when you use PA, you only get a gravel site. The site was nice though, and we love the location, it's close to everything in downtown Sturgis. Wifi was free and good with lots of repeaters throughout the park. OTA TV got about 8 channels. Water pressure and taste is good, sewer and other hookups are conveniently located, and it was easy to level up, just one board. The gravel is pretty loose for motorcycles, but not bad. This is a large park situated on 3 levels, and we were on the lower level, which I actually liked. I heard the views from the upper levels were great. The park appears to be very organized, nice cabins and nice tent areas too. We enjoyed our stay here. No train noise and it seemed quite quiet, but we weren't here the week of the rally, but a couple weeks before. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

So much to do here. We rode to Spearfish Canyon to see the Roughlock Waterfall and Bridal Veil waterfall. We did not hike into Spearfish falls. The bloody Mary's at Saloon 10 in Deadwood were great. Go to all that the Black Hills offer, Mount Rushmore, Needles Highway, Custer State Park, etc.

No pool, no golf, no gym, or anything such. This is not an RV resort. However, it is a very clean and efficient place to park and live while you explore the wonders of the area. Or, witness the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The park is neat and clean, Wifi is good - better than most - and the water 350 ppm. The rate goes up, as it does in all of the RV parks in the area, during bike week. The rate here is $525 - $1,000 for the duration - five days. The Passport America discount is good for only two days. Then you revert to the $35 rate, plus tax. That would not be such a good value. But, fair. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a week and toured Deadwood, Spearfish and Black Hills Forest. This park is convenient to all these areas. The lower level is all gravel and most with concrete pads. Staff is awesome! Wi-fi is probably the best we have seen in ANY park! There is a very nice grassy area that is good for walking pets that don't like doing their business on gravel! We stayed on the third level terrace in a pull in (not pullthrough) spot with a view of town in the valley and the surrounding black hills. New level concrete pad, great wifi and a tree for shade. Nice laundry (big machines, affordable). No other amenities to speak of. Was quiet while we were there. Nice big field across the road and a long winding sidewalk leading to city parks that were great for walking. Saw deer up on our level nearly ever day. Great location for visiting the many attractions. Only downside is that music is piped through a loudspeaker in town 24 hours a day and when the Knuckle Saloon has an event, it is LOUD LOUD LOUD. Luckily, with the AC running, it was muted. WIndy every day and had hailstorms twice while we were there. Weekly rate made our two week stay very affordable. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Spearfish Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, Deadwood, Custer State Park and Mammoth Site are all MUST SEE. Dakotamart grocery store right down the hill. So much to do and see here that you will want more than a week to see them all. Park is 70 miles or so from Rushmore and farther to Badlands
