Arrived at 4:30 PM, attendant is in the booth from 10 to 2 and the camp host was not available. Followed instructions posted to call recreation.gov and reserved site for the night in about 5 minutes. A very friendly camp host came by and checked on us about an hour later. Site was level with metal picnic table on a concrete pad, fire ring, lantern post and a wooden table. Site was gravel, but some sites are paved,$3 more. Restrooms and showers were clean but dated. Campground has fishing platforms, fish cleaning stations, playground, basketball and volleyball courts. We were there on a Tuesday with about a dozen other campers, but could see where it could be crowded on the weekend. Enjoy a nice quiet and peaceful night. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The National Fish Hatchery is next to the campground. Granddaughter loved to feed the fish. Paved trail at the end of the campground goes by hatchery. Saw deer, herons and hawks while walking the trail.

Beautiful setting with great spacing of the sites for the most part. Sites 24, 31, 33, 29, 27, 25 were amazing....make reservations early for those. Wide open during the week and filled on the weekend. We had a riverfront so it was closer spacing. The cleaning service does a great job of keeping the park/bathrooms clean! Dam generation was not friendly for kayak trout fishing during the week. We did get to go out Saturday and Sunday until 10am. Lots of trout on fly upriver! The dump of trout on Friday from the hatchery was a zoo...a person on every rock. Feral cats here that need to be sterilized. A kind gentleman does feed them but winter has to be hard....kinda sad. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Motorhome.

Lovely back roads that cruise the country. Beautiful! You can swim at the base of the dam after you cross the dam from the park from the small parking area.

When we arrived without reservations, we had to wait for 45 minutes because the host was not on premises. Finally, a really nice volunteer researched what sites would be available, returned and escorted us to a site, and got us registered. In all, this took two hours. We are big fans of COE CGs, and this is the first time we have encountered such a situation. If you are the host, you should be on-site doing your job.....that's why you get the free site. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Motorhome.

Our site was a little tight. The gates are locked right at 10pm so don't be late. There were lots of families there with little one riding bikes everywhere, so it's very family friendly. Bath house was close and clean. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Typical COE park - nice layout. Most sites are large and spaced out well. A few sites right on the river are smaller, and spaced closer than those off the river. One exception is site 48 which is very large (although spaced close to others. Sites are generally longer than given on the COE website. Many pull-through sites. In heavy rains, the CG may hold water in places. The trout fish hatchery is adjacent to the campground property and is worth a tour. The tours are unscheduled, but the hatchery is open to visitors between 7:30AM and 3:00PM. The hatchery staff is available to answer questions. Groceries, fuel and a hardware store are 2-3 miles away in Celina. Verizon coverage is 3/5, others non-existent. Fairly heavy tree canopy, so satellite reception is "find a hole in the trees". If you kayak or canoe, this is an ideal campground. There is a boat ramp at the CG, the take out is at the Donaldson City Park in Celina. At normal generation levels at the dam, the river moves at about 10 mph, which makes for a 1.5 to 2 hour trip to the take out. The river water is flat but moving, no water hazards, beautiful trip. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Fifth Wheel.

79 sites with w/e, 16 pull thru, most with some type of shade. Several situated overlooking the Obey River and below the Dale Hollow Dam. Located adjacent to a large trout fish hatchery(tours welcome) with trout fishing allowed in the runoff waters from the hatchery. We camped here in a popup motorcycle camper. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Tent Trailer.

Located within 10 miles of shopping facilities, propane etc. Bring light fishing tackle and catch a trout dinner while here. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Beautiful campgrounds on the Obey River just below the Dale Hollow Dam. Trout fish hatchery adjoins the campground. Kids would love this and is interesting to adults as well. Campers were catching limits of trout from streams leading from the hatchery. Sites were level and well spaced. Loved this campground. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Tent Trailer.

This is a nice COE park. Usually crowded through the summer month's. Cool in the summer as it's below the dam. Would likely stay again. Water and electric, no sewer hookups. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Motorhome.

This is a COE and we received a 50% discount because one of us is 65+. We camped along the river on a back-in site that was level and large. It was peaceful and beautiful with many old trees and shade. We did not have any other form of transportation and there was nothing within walking or biking distance to do. Most campers had boats and enjoyed the lake. We would stay here again but would bring a car. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice, quiet campground along the Obey River. The sites are large with trees, a paved pad and a fire ring. There is a nice paved trail along a creek that is stocked with trout from the fish hatchery that is next door. There are several pull-through "buddy sites" for 2 families to camp next to each other and a fish cleaning station. The attendant carefully explained to us that this is a no alcohol, a family campground. The attendant can give you directions to the "swing bridge" that goes to an island on Dale Hollow lake. There is not much to do near the campground except fishing and boating. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Tent Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This campground is well shaded by mature trees and has many spacious sites. Waterfront sites are particularly nice and are located along the tailwaters of the Obey River below the Dale Hollow Dam. The campground was well maintained though restrooms were a bit dated and void of soap and toilet paper although clean. My wife will likely not let us return to this campground because of the crushed limestone she was sweeping from the camper during our stay here. All sites are composed of this material which does track into the camper. Use of a large awning mat would likely have mitigated this somewhat. The site we had originally booked was number 23 and it was flooded upon our arrival due to a heavy rain the night before. Beware of site 23 and 26 if rain is in the forecast! Overall a nice campground. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Travel Trailer.

Wonderful park with BIG sites...just beautiful, the personnel at the gate were wonderful and very helpful and always asked us each time they saw us when we entered or left with our tow vehicle if everything was ok and if we were enjoying ourselves and they were just as nice when we left. There is a great trail to walk and a nice fish hatchery next store. We are already looking forward to our next trip to this ultra nice army corp of engineers park. I recommend it as a great place to spend some serious time. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground (ran by the Corp of Engineers) is on the tailwaters of the Dale Hollow Dam and is one of the nicest campgrounds we've stayed in. The campsites are very spacious, level, and all are provided shade by large, mature trees. We camped in site 31 (pull-thru) and even though it rained, all of our gear stayed dry because of the canopy provided by the trees. The campground is flat which made for great bike riding for our three kids plus the campground has a 3/4 mile bike/hiking trail that is paved and flat. There is a fish hatchery nearby which provided great trout fishing. Two playgrounds are provided. One was older with the typical merry-go-round, swings, slides, etc. , while one was newer that was more like a climbing structure. On the lake side of the dam (about a 2 mile drive from campground), is a swinging bridge that goes to an island that provided nice hiking and a fun place to swim. My only complaint is the bathhouse (at least the one we used (close to site 31)... I can't comment on the others). While they were clean, they really could use to be updated (at least the mens). The sinks were chipped and rusted as where the hand dryers. The showers did have hot water. The large pull-thru sites are some of the nicest (sites 24, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33). Sites 34, 35, and 36 are also very nice. Overall, this is a great campground and we look forward to going back again some day. We camped at Dale Hollow Damsite COE in a Travel Trailer.
