site 15 I stayed in the Spring Creek Primitive Campground. There were no facilities, but there were several porta-potties and each site had its own trash can that was picked up each morning. The sites are right on the water of Spring Creek. The end of the campground over looked the TN river. Sites were small and tight except for a few, and all seemed pretty level. I was in a 25 ft TT. The trailer fit in the site, parked the truck next to it. We camped at Mousetail Landing State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Spring Creek is a primitive camping area, mostly tents, some sites would be too tight to get my TT in to. I used Google Maps to see what ones would work.

Nice very will maintained older park. Note that there is a VERY steep hill once you are in the park leading up to the campground. The hill is not long, only about 0.25 miles, but the average grade is about 15% and the steepest part of the hill is about 25%. We camped at Mousetail Landing State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of the nicest parks we've been to. Very clean and well kept. The rangers and care takers are dedicated to their service. We stayed two nights on our way to the Grand Canyon and would go again if it weren't so far from anywhere. That and no wi-fi is the reason for the 9 rating. We camped at Mousetail Landing State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful campground for tent and small rvs. The hill leading into camp area is super steep. A big rig or long 5er will struggle. The sites are also small. The Rangers were nice. We camped at Mousetail Landing State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring what you need for your stay. A long way to town. If you come in from I-40, go to Linden and go to park. Don't trust your GPS going in on back roads from Lobelville.

Overall Rating:

The park rangers were very friendly respectful, and very easy to get along with. There were good and friendly campers close by. There was a very small amount of trash left by the last campers, but no problem there. The campground is the largest and nicest I've been to. There's a lake for swimming and fishing. There's playgrounds for children to play in. There's daily hikes the rangers take campers on to teach them different things about the plants and animals and fire starting. There's also boating, fishing, geocaching, golfing, hiking, swimming, horseback riding. I found the campground very peacefull and easy going. We camped at Mousetail Landing State Park in a Tent.

Rate reflects senior discount. Beautiful, rustic state park, located several miles from any town so bring your supplies with you. There is a small convenience store about 3 miles away, grocery store in Linden or Parsons. Heavily forested, the main campground was clean, staff friendly and helpful. They have a nice visitor's information center with a gift store. They sell firewood and will deliver it to your campsite. Roads are asphalt, pads are gravel...most are fairly level. The park has a lot of hills, walking and biking can be challenging. Nice fishing pier and small swim beach. Restrooms were clean. There is one washer/dryer, old, but they work fine, reasonably priced ($1.00/.75). Park is kept clean and neat. Sites are nicely spaced but the camping loops are small; it was mostly empty and quiet while we were here, but when full, we expect it could be noisy. They have a walking trail. Playgrounds looked clean and modern. Electric was steady and stayed on. Water pressure was 40PSI. They have trashcans in the campground at each site. There is a primitive area about a mile from the main entrance for tents. The park also has back country camping. We enjoyed our stay; it is a very nice state park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Mousetail Landing State Park in a Motorhome.

Mousetail Landing State Park is one of the newer parks in the Tennessee State Park system. It is a beautiful little park located on the Tennessee River. The campground I am writing about is the RV campground located in the main park. There is also a rustic campground that is lakefront that has several really nice tent sites or you can dry camp in a smaller motorhome or TT. The RV campground is located atop a steep hill, but once you get there it is shady and quiet. (I can't stress enough that the access road is very steep.) The road on the third loop is very difficult to get a longer trailer out of. We were pulling a 31' TT and had the truck off the road on one side and the trailer tires in the ditch on the other side. Our new 40 foot 5th wheel wouldn't make it. If you camp here, you'll love it. The rangers are super friendly and there is a lot to do including fishing, boating, and hiking. The Buffalo River is nearby and it is an excellent river to canoe or tube. There are several small fish restaurants just across the Tennessee River in Perryville and the food is great. There is a convenience store located near the state park, so if you forget something it isn't far to get ice, drinks, gas, diesel, or whatever. We camped at Mousetail Landing State Park in a Travel Trailer.
