Twenty-one spaces on an asphalt parking lot. Very narrow and short with little room to maneuver in and out. The 30 amp power at my site had reversed polarity. I checked the 30a at sites 15-20 and found two with reversed polarity, two completely dead, one burnt/melted, and two okay. Litter was everywhere. Any place with such a severe disregard for visitors safety can't get more than one star. Only the 50a was safe to use. The one positive is that you are in the Nashville city limits. There is no shopping or entertainment in walking distance but there is a short drive away. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Travel Trailer.

This place is hard to rate. The location to Nashville cant be beat. The price can't be beat. BUT, it's an asphalt parking lot on both sides. The preferable campground is on Smith Ave. It's fenced in and the utilities are in better condition then those on Walsh Rd. They do need attention and there are no circuit breakers on the boxes. The electric was good, good water pressure. Only 1 or 2 spots could fit larger motor homes , it's a tight campground. I'm at 39 feet and hung out into the roadway, while being backed completely up to the fence. The utilities on the Walsh rd. Side are pretty much destroyed and incomplete. With what looks like a couple of squatters living there. Even on the smith side the guy next to me appeared to be living there. The area felt safe enough . We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Motorhome.

We did not stay here. We went there and when we went up the hill to the spaces we decided it wasn't for us. I think I saw another area for parking that might have been marginally better. The campgrounds in the area charge &50-$70, feel safer and there is a shuttle bus for $10 R/T to downtown. I feel that is a better alternative. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Motorhome.

Two different areas with hookups. We were in the 'across the road on the hill' area. We had lots of empty sites on both sides of us. This area only had 30 amp outlets with both water and sewer. The police referred to in an earlier post have a 'mobile booking unit' that they bring here. So we did see lots of activity which my wife enjoyed watching. Plus, it made the area very secure. Nothing fancy but a great base for visiting the city. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Motorhome.

Race weekend and very busy. Parking sites are tight with no room between slides but have fully hookups. Near all the downtown attractions with super personnel running the office. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Fifth Wheel.

This is basically just a parking lot with full hook-ups, but the location makes it priceless. We stayed here to enjoy all that downtown Nashville has to offer, and we weren't disappointed. The park is about 2 miles from downtown, and I don't think we paid more than $8 for an Uber ride all weekend.

Don't stay here if you're looking to have a fire and enjoy the great outdoors, but it really is an excellent location to check out the town. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Fifth Wheel.

I arrived on the Saturday of CMA Country Fest and was happy to find a space as it is first come first served. There are about 20 sites with full hookups. On Monday everyone left except for 1 travel trailer. On Tuesday the police arrived with what amounted to a mobile jail. About 5 PM police cars started arriving with "suspects" in the back seats who were processed and placed in the back of the mobile jail. Sometime after 11 the police left.
The trash was never picked up after the crowd left.
On a positive note the "campground" is close to downtown. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Motorhome.

We chose this "park" for its proximity to Camp Bow Wow Nashville. It's not really a park. It's more like a parking lot. No reservations, just show up and pick a spot. First come, first served. It's cheap and close to downtown Nashville. We called a mobile RV repair in Nashville and they had never heard of it. There was just enough room to put our slides out. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Motorhome.

As others wrote, not really a "campground/park" but available except when there is the monthly flea market (4th weekend of month usually) or fair time. It is really the only RV place in Nashville for a reasonable price for full hookup (no public restrooms). Sites are very tight, about 15' wide. 40' motor homes fit, but large 5ths/trailers will have problems because very little maneuver room unless you can get at the front of the parking. Also, even on 4" of blocks we were not quite level. However, only a couple miles to downtown makes up for some inconvenience. Normally (they say) not many RVs here, but at least 75% full when we were here. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Motorhome.

This isn't an RV park, rather vendor parking for the fairgrounds, but it is a perfect spot to stay while visiting Nashville because compared to full service parks in the area, the price is much better. It is secure and convenient to area attractions. Lot spacing is very close with sunny/open exposure. Site surfaces are asphalt. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Fifth Wheel.

Hard to rate a parking lot. No rating for service, no idea where the people collecting money are located. No rating for cleanliness, it's a gravel and asphalt lot with a plug, a faucet and a hole. Front row seats to the weekend flea market across the street. No campsite numbers, just power poles in the ground at the back of back-in spaces. It is completely surrounded, on every side, by train tracks so if you are a light sleeper, it might be a problem. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Motorhome.

It's hard to rate this park because it isn't fair to compare it to most rv parks. If you know what you are getting here, it probably rates higher than the 5 I gave it. If you try to compare it to a "normal" rv park, it would probably rate lower. Thus, the mid-range score. It's all about the location--close, easy access to interstates, downtown, and to major shopping centers. And the price is much better than those nicer parks that are further out of town. We felt quite secure here, even though the neighborhood ranges from industrial to low income housing. We stayed a Tuesday & Wednesday. Wednesday night flea market vendors started showing up, and told us (very politely) that other vendors would be coming in starting Thursday and we were "in their spot." Okay with us since we were leaving then, anyway. We didn't call ahead, and we were never contacted by anyone to collect payment. Utilities include sewer, water and electric, and the sewer was just an open hole in the ground--no cover, but worked okay. We would stay here again. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Motorhome.

This isn't a campground, but a vendor RV parking for the fairgrounds. If there isn't an event, the lot is fairly empty. It's first come first serve and good for just staying over night, which was all we needed for our visit. Even though in the city, we felt safe and it was quiet except for racing at the track on the grounds on Sunday afternoon. We would stay here again. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is one of the strangest parks we have camped in, but for us it was perfect. We go to Nashville to go out to the music venues and not to hang around the RV park. We have stayed in nicer places (Seven Points, Cedar Creek, and Nashville Country) but none were as convenient to our haunts downtown and the Station Inn and Bluebird Cafe. It was two miles to lower Broadway and less than a mile to 3rd and Lindsley and Douglas Corner. We were almost by ourselves the whole time, maybe five other RVs at the most. It is basically one strip of the parking area around the fairgrounds, about 100 yards from the motor speedway track and a similar distance to the agricultural buildings of the fair. The sites are up on a little hill and you can actually watch the cars race if you pick the end space (we did). It is very quiet and we felt safe here because the sites are so visible to the streets below. To be sure it is primitive and not beautiful, but it has full hook ups, a great location and quiet. We had to cover our bedroom vent because the street light was right above us and very bright. Next trip to Nashville we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else! We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The Tennessee State Fairgrounds is a great place to stay if what you are looking for is a spot close to downtown. It's about 2 miles due south from Broadway Street. At $35.00 a day it is a great value in the Nashville area. We have stayed here twice, once for two weeks a few months ago and three weeks this time. It's not in a great area but it's isolated from the surrounding neighborhoods. Although we were the only RV here most of the time we never felt unsafe while we stayed here. Other RVs came and went on the weekends depending on what events were going on at the fairgrounds. It's like every state fairgrounds. There is a asphalt strip up near the middle of the fairground that has space for about 20 RVs. Other than the bathrooms and showers there are no other amenities, but you do get full hook-ups with 50 amps. There is an overflow area of about 200 spots but we rarely saw anyone in them. We will stay here every time we come to Nashville. We camped at The Fairgrounds Nashville in a Motorhome.
