Unusual cg because sites are nestled in the forest, very tastefully. Each site has a private picnic area including campfire ring. Our picnic table was just steps away from our RV over a wooden plank bridge. The table was located beneath a covered roof, even guttered for water drainage. If the creek bed had not been dry, we would have enjoyed hearing the running of water. We walked the cg road to see one of several open fields. A view of the mountain tops was amazing. A very quiet cg. Owners maintain it very well. There was 4G WiFi. Great cg. Thank you. We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Motorhome.

At first we were told they were booked for the weekend. The owner called someone who had a reservation to check on them, the weren't going to make it after all, so she called me right back and said to come on. She was even willing to forgo the three-night minimum because my wife was working late and it was going to be late when we arrived. Nice sites with fire pits and tables. Tables, however, were small and only seat four people. Some of the sites were very close to each other, but they may not use them as they were empty during the holiday weekend. The only reason I give this place an 8 is the location. It's along the interstate in the Tennessee mountains. Not that the interstate was a problem, but there wasn't much as far as attractions in the area. However, if you want to go and relax and not do much of anything, this is the place. Will definitely consider going back. We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Motorhome.

Dollar General is around the corner, so it's just as good as having a camp store. We ate a local eatery called Maple Grove. Great prices, excellent food and very good service.

We booked here from April to October with our 28' home. While many comment about the roads being narrow, there are TWO exits so one does not have to traverse the steeper one if they find it too tight for their liking. In fact, the owners bend over backwards to accommodate any particular needs. They have been very gracious to us, bringing firewood to our site, which is in a beautiful shaded spot. There are 32 spots here, the last 5 or 6 holding long term campers like us. This place is peaceful and serene if you want to get away from places with no trees, pools full of small, noisy humans and being right on top of your neighbor. The bath houses are immaculate and there are two laundromats and several restaurants very close by. There is also the Pinnacle Tower Trail adjacent to the property, if you like hiking. There is a beautiful stream running through the property. Don't pass this place by. It is a gem!!! We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Motorhome.

Restaurants include Maple Grove, Unicoi Grill, Clarence's Drive In. Scott's Farm has homemade ice cream and in a May, hosts the Strawberry Festival. Two laundromats on Route 107, Main Street. People are terrifically friendly and helpful. We really like it here and are contemplating buying acreage here.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground with incredibly nice staff. However, it is on the side of a mountain. The roads are very narrow, steep, and difficult to navigate -- leaving the park requires a hairpin turn onto a steeply inclined uphill road followed by a steep descent. The staff was very friendly and helped us navigate to and back into our site. Once situated, the campground itself is beautiful. A creek ran behind our site with a wooden bridge to cross over to the covered picnic area for our site. The views were also spectacular. Other than the difficulty of the roads inside the campground, it was a nice experience. We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Motorhome.

As others have stated, very narrow roads in this park. Very concerned with our 33ft 5th wheel, but didn't hit anything. Bath house/bathrooms out of service during our stay, so can't comment on them. We stayed in spot 14, which was plenty long and easy to back into. It almost paralleled the road but climbed steeply up so that our wheels were about 5 feet above the road. There were two more sites between us and the road, which would have been pretty close, but no one was in them during our stay. Wifi was slow/spotty unless we walked towards site 16, which has an antenna near it. Leaving the park from our site requires a sharp left climbing turn that has a steep drop off if you cut it short. We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at WoodSmoke Campground on our first outing with our new travel trailer. There is a Walmart a few miles from the campground and we used our weekend as a time to get things we had not thought of for the new camper. There are also many small restaurants and shops in Unicoi and Erwin, TN, close by. The campground is a small family run facility. It is immaculately clean (Cleanest camp bathhouse we have ever seen in many years of camping!) and all sites have some degree of shade. There were a few seasonal campers, but most sites were open for rentals from short stayers like we were. The camp ground was nice and quiet. I-26 is less than a mile away, but there is very little truck traffic on that portion, so you don't notice traffic noise very much at all. We did hear train whistles two times and thought that was charming. The owners are very conscientious and helpful. Our only confusion was why they put us on a corner site with little privacy when there were several other more private, more heavily wooded sites available the whole time we were there. If we had it to do again I would ask ahead what sort of site we were renting and express a hope for privacy. But we were still happy and enjoyed our stay. We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stumbled upon Woodsmoke Campground because our original choice was full. The reviews of Woodsmoke sounded good, so we decided to request a site via their website. Usually when we request a site online from a campground, we do not hear from them for days. Woodsmoke was a pleasant exception, as they replied within an hour of our request. I was able to call the following day to confirm our reservation. The lady I spoke with was extremely nice and accommodating.

Our initial reaction was that this campground was too close to home, as it is 30-35min. As soon as we drove into the beautiful private entrance, we realized that we were badly mistaken with our initial reaction. Just a half hour from home, we felt we were hours away.

The owner met us at the office and politely guided us to our spot and assisted in getting us perfectly positioned in our wonderful, private site. Our site backed up to a small stream, which added to the wonderful ambiance of our experience. The sites were large and well spaced. The bathhouse was extremely clean. It is obvious that the owner's take an exceptional amount of pride in maintaining this campground.

At the entrance to the campground is the trailhead to the Pinnacle Tower Trail. This is a 4.8mile hiking/biking trail. The views from the tower are beyond words! I mountain biked this trail two times during out stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a must for anyone able to make the trek!

Within walking distance (or a very short drive) are a Dollar General store and a package store with all of your liquor, wine and beer needs. The package store had a great selection of craft and high gravity beers as well as the yellow fizzy stuff.

Woodsmoke is great whether you are coming from near or far. The owner's are exceptional, the facilities are phenomenal, and the location is convenient. We have ruled out return trips to other campgrounds after a wonderful weekend at Woodsmoke Campground! You must experience! We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This park is clean, well maintained and simple. We stayed for 2 nights. Did not use the bathhouse, but did see them on site. No on site laundry. No activities for children, but my kids enjoyed just being outside. Sites are gravel and well spaced. Roads are a bit tight, as stated previously. Our travel trailer is 36' and we found some of the turns to be tight, but doable. The real gem here is the staff. They were amazing. Very knowledgeable, helpful and hard workers constantly on the move bettering this park. The scenery is nice being this close to the national forest. The park is wooded and natural. If you're looking for a quiet, simple place surrounded by nature with full hookups- this would be for you. I would stay here again! We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Travel Trailer.

There are very friendly and helpful staff in this family operated campground. It is a heavily wooded campground just off the interstate. The access road is a bit tight for larger rigs. The sites are pretty close together with few or no trees or bushes between many of them. We stayed for 6 nights while visiting family so we were gone almost all day. Since it was pre-season, the campground was practically empty except for us and a few long term rigs. We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Owners were very nice and location was very convenient for a one night stop over on our way south. Not somewhere I would go for a vacation. Some of the sites are close together but the other campers were very quiet and the vibe was good. Although it is close to the highway, we did not notice any road noise. It is a very convenient stop-over. It is very fast off and on the interstate. They have very woodsy, shaded sites. Some sites are close together, most sites could be very private if hook-ups had been placed on the opposite side(?!) I have found this lack of foresight in other parks, very friendly owners. Our site needed quite a bit of leveling but had a nice yard and creek side rushing water sounds were soothing. A nearby restaurant (meat & 3) was worth multiple visits, food was delicious. (We had dinner and breakfast). Unpleasantly well-lit and no charm however. Still, the best choice I have found in the immediate area. Quiet. Good dog-walking, it smells of forest and moss. Absolutely beautiful place!!! Very friendly people. We got in well after dark and everyone around my site turned their headlamps on so I could get parked. This park is way back in the woods so there is no light at night, no highway noise, and most likely no place with a good view of the sky for a roof mounted satellite dish. I am in site 18 and have no signal. Wi-fi is good and people are very friendly. If you are in the area, this place is a must!!! For $25 this is the nicest place I've stayed for any amount. This is one of our favorite campgrounds. It is most appropriate for those who truly enjoy the outdoor experience, not for those who are expecting to be entertained nonstop. It is very quiet, beautiful, clean and well maintained. Woodsmoke is an excellent value for the area, approximately one half the cost of the closest KOA campground. They have wi-fi and about 1/3 of the sites can see a satellite TV from your rooftop. The other sites would require a portable dish. The restrooms and showers were very clean and the water was hot. Ample trash cans. Sites were well separated and level. Leaves raked and trees pruned. The price is as low as you're going to see in the area in a private campground. Gravel road going into the place is narrow, but effectively is one way. We camped at WoodSmoke Campground in a Motorhome.
