Oct 2015 - $40.00
We had a water site and it was not worth the $40.00 it cost . As stated before, water is a scum pond. Lots of noise in morning. A lot of long-term sites. - This Old Man
Oct 2015 - $31.00
Not sure if I should even give this park a 3. Lots of long termers that live full time. If you want to sleep in, forget it - there's motorcycles and loud trucks leaving early in the a.m. There is NO cable unless you want to make a $100 deposit for the box. And you don't pick up anything over the air.
By the time we realized the paper the office gave us didn't have a WiFi code on it, was too late for us to go to the office and ask. Couldn't call as there is NO cell signal in the park.
The restaurant is only open on Saturday nights.
This part of the lake needs attention. Green algae way out in to the water.
The putt putt course had caution tape all around it. The pool was closed. The roads are not in good shape. No picnic tables at the sites. Odd layouts for hookups. You could tell at one time this park could have been a destination with lots to do, but it's worn and thread bare now.
Be very careful driving in and leaving as the road is basically single lane with ditches right on the edge.
Why did we stay here? The park where we wanted to stay was full, and we needed to be in the area. We would not stay here again - if we needed to be in the area & could not get our preferred park, we'd stay farther away & drive more. - 3catstravel
Jul 2012 - $30.00
RV Park is set back away from traffic, very very quiet, sites are spacious, cable with zillion channels, long termers are nice, water front sites are for overnites in summer, but river view still there for other sites inside rows. Staff are excellent, Joy in particular!! Pool is nice, marinas on the river, with boat rentals and cabin rentals. I had a problem with a work contract there in Chatanooga and the manager was gracious enough to give me a refund, they didn't have to do that, but they did. Sure the geese are around but all you have to do is hose down your site, they stay on the river and come ashore to walk around. Some of the sites don't yet have the new cable connections in but the staff are in the process of completing this. All in all its a great place with mountains on each side of the marina, so cell coverage is scanty, but I had no problem with their WIFI and I was pretty far back, its an issue they try to work on constantly. I definitely will try to come back just to relax!! - Ms Mary
Jun 2018 - $20.00
An amazing peice of property that could have so much potential. $20 a night for electric and water for our RV. We've always wanted to stay here because it looks so pretty when driving by on I-24, but what a disappointment. The bathhouse is an embarrassment. The light doesn't work, there is trash all over the place. No door on the stall. No paper. The garbage doesn't look like it's been picked up in a week. Really sad because the property could be so lovely. - Harbinger77
May 2017 - $18.00
This campground is on a peninsula in the Nickajack Lake/Tennessee River and is a prime location for those who like to fish or kayak with boat ramps, fishing piers and boat trailer parking. I did not see a lot of geese or droppings. It has a lot of seasonal campers but the ones we met were all friendly. It also has a lot of tents especially along the water. It may be difficult to find an available site in the summer because of the seasonal campers. I was able to reserve a site by phone in May. The office for checking in is a little tricky to find due to lack of signage and is in the middle of the park up on a hill. I recommend that you go to their website (www.marioncountypark.com) and print a map of the campground so that you can see which roads to take. It appears that the people who manage the campground live in a yellow mobile home which is where you check in. The dump station is near the office. There are 2 bathhouses. The one by the office is new and has 2 personal rooms with 1 shower, 1 sink and 1 toilet. The other one is very old with only 1 shower, 1 sink and 1 toilet. There is no sewer at the campsites and not all of the sites have 50 amp. The sites looked level, pads are gravel, only a few have a picnic table. There are fire rings all over the park. You can see this campground from I-24 but the road noise did not bother us at all. It is easy to get to from I-24 exit 158 which has a Loves's Travel gas station and restaurants. There are beautiful views of the water and mountains. The list of rules says no alcoholic beverages. The only complaint that I have with this park is that it has low water pressure. - Lini
Apr 2017 - $20.00
We arrived in our 40 ft RV and were a little confused which way we needed to go as there is a sign for tent campers and one for RV camping. We thought "we're RV camping, so let's go that way". Wrong. We had to go up to the office where it said tent camping. Anyway, the campground is very nice with decent sized spaces. We were in space 29 which has a fire pit and a nice view of the river. There are a few geese here, but nothing to gripe about. The only real negative I have is the trash left laying around. The fire pit had cans and cigarette butts thrown in. There was also trash thrown all around one set of trash bins. I cleaned both up in an effort to make it nicer for the next person. The shower/restroom area was so-so. I've seen better, but it was ok. We may come back again. - Jeannette E
Oct 2018 - $50.00
The park was very nice and the people were very nice. We didn't receive our Good Sam discount because we were told that we were given the weekly rate which was better. I am not sure if we were supposed to receive both or not. We were escorted to our site and they stayed to make sure we were positioned so our slide outs would have enough room. It was very nice place to stay. - JLHickerson
Sep 2018 - $50.00
Excellent customer service - she rode me around in a golf cart so that I could pick out a site that I liked. Unfortunately, the one that I picked was not level (pretty bad), but we made due for the two nights. Very nice views. Nice dog park. The pool looked very nice. Seemed like a very quiet and safe campground. My husband complained that the bathroom was not adequate seeing as how there were so many nearby tent campers. Also, we had to pull up pretty far in order to open the slide (tree in the way) and then were too far from the sewer (so just skipped using sewer). Still overall, a nice place to stay at for a couple of days - we would return. - Deb and Chris
Sep 2018 - $45.00
We like the country atmosphere here. There are trees everywhere, but not that got in the way of my slides. The current owners are doing a lot to make this campground a destination rather than just a place to stay. The down side is that the sites are not very Level - many motorhomes had wheels off the grounds. By careful parking I was able to keep all wheels on the ground, so it is possible, just not easy. On the positive side, all the utilities worked fine. The WiFi was, unfortunately, typical RV Park WiFi - just so so. Overall, though, this is a nice place and I will definitely be back. - MFTDoc
Feb 2018 - $28.00
This is a nice campground. It is by a lake and a public park. We were able to run and swim our dog early morning without a leash. The park is clean. There are some long-term rigs there. I wouldn't say it handles big rigs very well--at least not 40' motorhomes! We pulled in after dark...I would not recommend unless you are familiar with the park! Their website's directions are not correct so be cautious! We tried a couple sites before deciding on one. Pads are gravel and soft (maybe just because it is early spring?) Our front jack went in about 6 inches. The pull-thrus are half-circles so if someone is in "front" of you your ability to pull out of your site could be very tight. There is no sewer at the sites...only dump station. Overall, I think it would be a great park for smaller rigs. - Gma Linda
Sep 2017 - $30.00
Love this park. This was our first time here since its 1.5hr out from our house. Very friendly staff also making sure everything was ok. Plenty of room for our kids to play safely and a huge bonus was the big playground area. Lots of area to fish which my husband loved. They had a big fire pit at every lot. Also a pole to hang a lantern if you needed one. Right off the interstate and close to a local Walmart if you forgot anything. Only thing that I personally don't like is they don't take reservations and do anything online. BUT WE WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK - Campingfamily4life
Sep 2016 - $28.00
This is a very nice, clean campground located on Nickajack Lake/Tennessee River. Friendly management that were very accommodating! I have a small Casita TT, but the park could accommodate up to the largest Class A, I'm sure. Since I was only staying for the night and not even unhooking, the manager took me to a pull through site looking right at the lake. It was so pleasant, I hung around until almost noon the next morning! Electric and water hookups at sites, dump station on site. Perfect if traveling through because it is literally 2.5 miles off of I-24. They are open year round except for two weeks in January. They don't officially take reservations but if you know that you are coming in that no, you can call them and they will hold one for you. I will definitely stay there again overnight and hopefully for a few days sometime! - coosa
Jan 2019 - $40.00
Great access to the property with easy on and off interstate with straight roads for travel that takes you to a semi secluded piece of TN. Out of all the places the family has had the opportunity to stay, I felt like this adventure was one of the best. Even though not open, their zip line course looked top notch and looked like it would be loads of fun. (Can not wait to go back in March when they open). The RV site itself was perfect for setup. Even with our large Prevost, hookup was no problem. The property manager met us there and was very knowledgeable about the property as well as the hookup procedure. It was a seamless check in. We had the opportunity to hike this beautiful landscape. The scenery is astounding, with the mountain views and the deer and turkey roaming the property. So a big Shout out to Baggenstoss Farms for creating such a wonderful experience. - David_The RV Guy
Nov 2018 - $40.00
Clean and newly renovated bath house. Friendly customer service. Family friendly with a zipline course, 9 holes of frisbee golf, fishing and hiking. - Kelly Arnold
Jul 2018 - $54.00
Very accommodating staff. Easy access to Chattanooga attractions. Kids activities get approval from our grandkids. ( pool, bouncing & playground). Best dog play area I have found. Sites offer lots of shade from the hot southern sun. Most sites have adequate privacy & size. The only negatives are the bright pole lighting at night & the hilly gravel roads. - Dugster
Jul 2018 - $48.00
Bathrooms are dated/need updating. Drive up to park was all uphill, twisty road. Spot 30 was a little tight and not too level. Pool was good but lots of kids (they we good, just lots of them.) Roads/sites in park are gravel, and a little tight. Park clean and grass mowed. My meter showed 114 volts, ran our AC's just fine. If you are just passing through, not the best of choices. If you want a relaxing spot off the beaten path, then probably OK. More of the $35/night park. - The World is R Oyster
May 2018 - $52.00
The park was crowded, spaces were tight, they did not enforce quiet hours. - myo
Aug 2012 - $25.00
We went to visit and look this campground over, and the owner gave us a very detailed tour. Talk about friendly! We had driven to this park 5 or 6 years ago, only to drive away and put it on our "do not go here" list. We thought we'd check it out once again, and we were very pleasantly surprised! The park is clean, showers and bathrooms extra clean. The cabins are very well appointed. The activities list goes on and on, and they are very motorcycle friendly. Visit the site and have a look at the pictures. They're honest pictures that give a true reflection of the feel of the park. I would give them a much better score if they had more sewer sites than they do. - TaylorShopping

The Pros: Pet friendly, wi-fi available, great view, peaceful. The Cons: No bathroom or shower facilities any closer than the 1/4 to a 1/2 a mile walk from camping area, no public telephone, no food, beverages, or ice at location, must drive 8 miles for anything. No cable or satellite access. Management is very unprofessional (a woman running around half dressed). I was there for Valentines Day, and any respectable persons do not care for such behavior. Most residents or visitors were men, so we guessed its acceptable to most there. This park is geared for hang gliders only apparently, at least now. We were there several years ago and it had different management, public restrooms, showers, public phone, and served food at campsite area via a concessions unit. It was obvious to us they neither cared or wanted private individuals in their park. It appeared the park has many permanent residents in it, hang gliders we assumed. - Jerry & John
Jan 2007 - $69.00
A very clean, and well cared for facility! Staff was courteous, helpful and responsive. The park is nestled at the base of Lookout Mountain in a delightful rural setting. It is located next to hang gliding landing field and caters primarily to those who come for hang gliding but all are welcome. Chattanooga is an easy drive with many activities available in the area. It was fascinating watching the hang gliders being towed up for their flights or watching them glide gracefully to the ground. All the people we met during our stay were warm and friendly. I strongly recommend you consider staying at this safe and family oriented facility. - Rowbear
Dec 2017 - $28.00
Some of the interior roads are not big rig friendly. Last year we drove through 1 of the areas on the island that were pull through...they must only be for small campers and tents. We had to remove our ladder to squeeze past a tree. This time we knew where to go! Right on the lake, quiet & peaceful in the winter. We only saw 1 other camper in the area. The rest seem to gravitate towards the area by the entrance. Nice big playgrounds. Con is there's no sewer and some spots are uneven. - Ontheroamagain
Nov 2017 - $30.00
PROS: Beautiful lake. CONS: Excessive slope. High-crime? - Not friendly. Huge park. Not one park employee or camper said "hello". Glass window and cop car at entrance made it seem like a high-crime area. - Website said site 183 could accommodate a 57 foot motorhome. The site could barely handle a pop-up trailer. Our motorhome is 34 feet. Utilities too far away; had to extend our electric cable. - Excessive slope. We could have broken our necks getting out of the rig. - Website should be updated to show which sites are sloped before laying out 100+ dollars. - tdrager
Oct 2017 - $30.00
Great campground with numerous lakefront campsites! Pros - level sites, fishing, water activities, great scenery Cons - Not full hookup, A bit crowded and close sites, checkout is noon. - RandyP
Jul 2018 - $30.00
Small, close and not very level sites for what I expect from a state park campground. Clean facilities and friendly staff. Free WiFi is a perk. - ToddCase
Apr 2018 - $20.00
They had only one site left, B3. It was NOT big-rig friendly, although we managed to get in and out without hitting anything. There are four campground areas. It looks like A, C, and D may be bigger and easier to maneuver. Office people friendly and helpful. No site that I saw was level. - melissabrvs
Mar 2018 - $17.00
The sites are tight and some are very very unlevel. Pay attention to the website when selected a site. Section B and C have the worst unlevel sites. Both do have some very level sites too. The park does have a pool and playground for those that have families. - ranic59
