My family and I have been here for a year while we've been waiting on my husband's transfer. I hate to leave because we've had such a good experience here. The owners have only been here for a couple of years, but they've been making improvements. There is a playground, clean pool, large field for playing in, and the owners live on the property and are always available. We keep to ourselves and don't require a lot, and we've never had a problem here. For instance, on Christmas Eve, the owner brought all the last minute packages we got (and there were MANY), during a storm, and he had the best attitude. They always offer to help, and I've never seen a bad attitude in the staff. The place is still improving, and I know it's just going to get nicer each year. It isn't fancy and big, but for a place to stay or live for a while (if you aren't needing anything more than a place to stay) it's great and has all the necessities. There are bathrooms, showers, and a dumpster that's easy to get to. if we come back here to TN again, we'll stay here. There is a mix of full time and overnighters. - akwright04

Campsite in front of us had a truck with a flat tire and another car that looked like it had not been started in years! Other sites were run down and surrounded by dead plants. While there were a few newer campers most sites looked really "lived in." Thought it might be ok after the lady at the KOA recommended this place to me after I could not get a site there. I even talked to the manager here before I book and questioned him about some of the poor reviews. He assured me improvements had been made and those bad reviews were from people that had been asked to leave. Our site was not very level but we did finally get our RV leveled. We were able to get our slides out but unable to get our awning out due to site being so narrow. An old grill was left on our site. Should also have turned around and left when I saw the disarray of the office. It was just horrible. Thankfully only staying here one night. Will not be returning here!! Gave it 2 stars because it at least had full hookups. - Beth Cornwell
Jun 2017 - $35.00
Perfect for an overnight stay. Off the interstate under the trees, level sites. Welcome rest spot after a long day on the road. I read earlier reviews and it seems they were taken to heart. Pikes of gravel are being worked into the sites, restrooms looked recently painted. Pool was busy. They were having a family reunion and those folks seemed pleased. Sites are very long. - Champ203
Jan 2013 - $25.00
Great little quiet park with a dozen RV sites on the hill, that gets great cell phone and air card reception. Tents sites down by the boat ramp on the river (no hookups at tent sites). The owners are wonderful people who keep everything nice, neat, and clean (no derelict trailers). Clean bathhouse with small kitchen for use during gatherings in the pavilion. All sites have fire rings and picnic tables. Great safe place for a long term stay or a quiet weekend of camping, fishing and boating. Playground for the kids. Only drawback is the 1/2 mile gravel road that is fairly hilly...we had no trouble getting in though...would highly recommend! Admin note: Park is seven miles north of McMinnville in Rock Island a non-existent town. - kakampers

We have stayed in all sorts of campgrounds around the US and generally are not very picky. That said, this is the worst campground we have ever seen. We drove in and out within an hour. The drive in is very difficult. We spoke with the owner several times, explaining at we had a 35' class A, and she assured us this was no problem. The roads in are very narrow and hilly with many blind curves. The entrance to the park is extremely steep and narrow, with a sharp drop on one side. We have driven our RV through mountains and snow in Colorado (ex. Breckenridge) and California (ex. Cobb Mountain), so we are very used to hills. However, the entrance to this park was almost impossible, and would have been impossible with a less experienced driver. Once we parked, we found that the hookups were at the back of the sites and very far away. Power was 50' away from the RV and water was at least the same distance. While we were attempting to set up, we let the kids go to the playground. We quickly learned that there were wasp nests in the playground equipment, when our 4 year old was stung. Overall the entire park was very run down. No sites appeared to be level. This is probably an OK park if you are just looking for somewhere quiet to fish in your tent and don't want any amenities, but this is not a place for a nice RV or family vacation. - Cocoabeachfam
Jul 2019 - $25.00
We stayed in Loop 2 for two nights. Our site was fairly large and quiet. We mostly used this as a place to stay while visiting Nashville, but did hike a little and the trail was nice. The park is very busy; there was a large family reunion and a wedding. - JeniLynne
Jun 2019 - $25.00
Loop 3!!! As noted in other reviews, loop 3 has spacious sites with a fair amount of separation. The water and electric services were in great condition. The site surface (asphalt) was smooth, but I had to do a fair amount of leveling for my Sprinter-based RV. (The RV itself dips a little at the front, so it's not unusual for me to have to do at least a little leveling.) It rained a lot while I was there, so I didn't get to hike as I had hoped, but the trails looked nice. Oh, speaking of rain, on loop 3, I noticed some rain water collecting near sites, but nothing that would interfere with your activities. However, on loop 2, I noticed the collection of some water on the sites themselves. Overall, this is a great park, and I'd definitely return. - ramble_on
May 2019 - $32.00
We stayed in site 114, which is in Campground 3. There are 3 loops in this park, and #3 in my opinion is the best. No way I'd stay in #1, as they are all pull-thrus and on top of each other. #2 was OK, but the sites were definitely smaller and many were quite sloped. #3 had the most spaced out, level sites and longer driveways, I think it was renovated last year. Our site was one of 2 that had sewer available, but the design was so bad I wish I had gone for a site with more privacy and just used the dump station. The hookup is on a bank so high that it didn't leave enough slope for good flow when dumping the tanks and was a major pain. The site itself was fairly spacious, with pretty good privacy from the road, and even a creek for the kids to play in. The next campsite's picnic area was basically right next to ours, which I didn't care for. Next time I'll go for one of the sites in the back of the loop that have much more space and privacy on both sides. The park itself is nice enough with activities to keep a family busy for a day or two. Long Hunter State Park is only 30 minutes away with water sports available. - VolFan9183
Aug 2019 - $25.00
Very steep and narrow campground road is difficult to navigate with a typical camper in tow. Sites are very tight and the steep narrow roads make backing in difficult. Trees and undergrowth greatly hinder the view of the lake, which is mostly the back of the marina anyway. Wifi was intermittent and cell phones barely worked and no TV reception. We won't return. - User2063
Jul 2019 - $42.00
We just stayed one night & want to come back & plan a longer stay!
Sites are so unique on platforms. Some platforms are steep grade entering, but level where you hook up. Loved parking on the platforms—plenty big enough for picnic table, awnings & even your row vehicle & another vehicle if needed.
Our back tent bunk fit over the rail, so it was like sleeping in a tree house. In the morning we watched variety of birds from our bed! Just so cool! Some sites have different views of either the marina or the lake. All are wooded & shaded. We didn’t see a bad site in the grounds. There was so swimming area nearby, but it looks like you could drive to a beach if we had time. Also very close to the marina where numerous boating rental options including jet skis & house boats.
There shower house was impeccably clean & just nice! Well ventilated & plenty of room for keeping your stuff dry while showering. The water pressure was ok, but plenty of hot water.
There was a fire ring beside the platform with an additional spigot for washing dishes.
Definitely a place to come back to! - CartonC
Jul 2019 - $20.00
This park was surprisingly beautiful. Spent one day boating on the lake, another day canoeing on the river, and each night BBQing at the unique wood deck campsite. This park is clean, quiet, and beautiful. Also had good wifi at our particular site. The only downside may be the access to the water from the campsite, and the confusing roadway. Other than that we had a great time and will be back! - Peter Schuessler
Jun 2018 - $20.00
We have stayed at many COE parks over the past decade and were shocked at the physical layout and cramped conditions here. Motorhomes, fifth-wheels and pull-behinds are crammed in like sardines near the lake. If you have a boat and do not mind being a few feet from your neighbor in an unlevel site, then Floating Mill will meet your needs. Our reserved site (made with due diligence and reading multiple reviews), turned out to be one that cannot be safely accessed with a 42 foot motorhome. We talked to the host and were allowed to spend one night in another site-- could not level and evening power was very low: on average 105 to 107. Our surge protector shut down power once (meaning that it dropped below 104). The bathrooms are ancient and in very poor condition: rusted doors, one toilet did not work, etc. The one bright note is that the hosts were outstanding in working with us and really are clearly an asset to the park. Interesting note: the host said that the first time they came to the park as guests in their larger motorhome, they could not get into their site and left to spend the night at a truck stop. We would NEVER consider staying here again. For anyone who frequents COE parks: this is unlike any that you have seen! And, that is a shame because the lake is beautiful! - flrvers466
Sep 2017 - $13.00
We only spent one night but really enjoyed being there. Would not hesitate to return! Beautiful, clean park, wonderful view of the lake. Easy entry and exit. Would highly recommend. - Meyka
Jul 2017 - $30.00
Restroom/shower by site 91 was dirty and almost unusable, but if you walked down to end of the campground there was a newer restroom that was a lot nicer. Great views of water and nice campsites. - Radelm
Aug 2019 - $30.00
We camped on site # 7, which is a lakeside view for 3 nights. The view of Center Hill Lake was awesome. The site was fairly level and plenty of space for camper and truck. It was a smaller campground, but taken care of nicely. Our site had some wood damage due to weather, but not anything that was a hinderance to us. It was very quiet the time we were there, even with boats out on the lake. It had two boats docks in the campground/recreation area and 1 sand beach for swimmers. We didn't have to use beach, as we were allowed to swim in the lake by our campsite. The lake was extremely clear and great to swim in. The campground had lakeside sites and regular sites also. For us, the lakeside sites are the ones to have. Overall, we will come back to this campground. - kycamper02
Sep 2017 - $15.00
Super nice park. Would've given a perfect 10 but three major defects. Dumpsters are few and far between. Restrooms/showers were not convenient and seem to be added like an after thought, but realize this is very hilly country and they did an excellent job of utilizing what ground they have. Biggest down fall is the signage or rather the lack of. One sign telling of upcoming park road, but none at the turn. If I hadn't used Google Street View prior to our trip I would have missed the turn completely. Wife's Verizon & my ATT were both strong enough to work, as well as our att Hot Spot for the laptop. No OTA TV. Excellent waterfront site, however Labor Day weekend is not the perfect time for a quiet, peaceful setting. Boaters were eager to share their music with everyone, if you wanted it or not. Will return at a less busy time. - garmp
Oct 2014 - $24.00
I'm writing the kind of site specific review I would find helpful...hope it helps someone! Lakefront sites are close together but there are a few gem spots. #11 and 12 are close together, but are great if you're with friends; they share a little path down to the water. #15 is great because it has a path to the water and at the end of the RV sites so no there's no close neighbor on one side. #9 is great for the same reason, you have some rocks to get down to the water but not so on top of your neighbors and great view. #19 has a great view of the water but no direct access. If you have kids it's great because the playground (which is really nice) is right in your backyard. The bathrooms were clean and the attendants were the nicest around. Burgess Falls is a quick 20 minute drive away and absolutely beautiful; take the hike all the way down to the bottom. We did it with our 4&5 year olds in tow, it's not difficult. This is one of my favourite campgrounds. - mamabird73
Aug 2019 - $22.00
Things haven't changed since 2018 review. The park was great with nice walking trails etc. but the campground sites lacked clean up on the parking pads, bbq and fire rings. Couldn't get tv reception but able to connect to our hot spot to catch up with what's going on which was fine with us. The height on the bridge crossing was fine but we managed to hit a side mirror so watch the width. We stayed 3 nights, Sunday-Wednesday. It seems like all the sights are booked on weekends though. - ursula white
Oct 2018 - $29.00
The State Park trails were outstanding and educational and the short canoe tour was enjoyable. We would return for the park itself. However, the campground gets a thumbs-down rating: Asphalt pad, 6" out of level. Ours was dry but there were many swampy campsites, There was a grill, fire ring and a nice table, but the ground was poorly maintained. Gravel patios adjacent to the rv sites would improve the camping experience dramatically. Signage could use improvement. Reserved campers should just pull in, rather than searching for a check in attendant. Overall, not impressed with the campground. It is due for an update. - Russell Moon
Aug 2018 - $25.00
Nice, quiet little park. Not a ton to do, but some good hiking and the campground is relaxing with good space between sites and lots of wildlife. The old enclosure area is really interesting. The facilities do need some updating, especially the electrical, as we did experience some low voltage during peak times. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. - VolFan9183
Aug 2019 - $15.00
On the banks of the Caney Fork with the occasional cool breeze from the tailwater on the waterfront sites. Fabulous! The COE always seem to do it right. Spacious, level, 50Amp, water, gravel site with borders, picnic table, covered two layer table, lantern post, firepit....etc. Nice clean bathrooms, great water pressure showers, and washers & dryer. Campground hosts are great and the garden around the office is filled with flowers, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Hard to drive by without enjoying! Unfortunately several waterfront sites are closed due to bank erosion from the high releases this spring. Big Rock Market just up the road has a fantastic selection of fishing kayaks. Also provided us with river shuttle service and killer BBQ! - Blowfishqueen
Jun 2019 - $11.00
We loved this place, but had only one night and couldn't extend due to MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. Our campsite was perfect and right beside a running stream. - ginger2you
Jun 2018 - $30.00
Nice little campground convenient for those wishing to fish the Caney Fork River. Sites are level and easy to get into. Our site #24 had partial shade, but it was in the 90's when we were there and I wished we had a site with more shade. There is a nice open space between #24 and #25 with a walkway that leads to the river. Should have been a great place for the kids to play, except that everyone decided that was the place to let their dog use the bathroom and didn't clean up after them. My only real complaint is there are no sewer hookups and the dump station is pretty minimal. - VolFan9183
Sep 2019 - $32.00
AMAZING!!!! As always, Tennessee state parks do not disappoint.
Beautiful scenery, trails to walk, beach area to swim. Clean bath houses and good size playground. Site had the playground in its “backyard”. Mostly wooded sites and all asphalt. Some sites would be too small to navigate bigger rigs but it tells which ones when you reserve.
Will definitely be back!!!!! - stephmartin
Jul 2019 - $32.00
nice state park will come again. friendly staff. had church service right there and gave us breakfast - countryshooter
Jun 2019 - $32.00
We thought this was a great place to stay. We like smaller parks where the sites aren't on top of one another; you could see a couple of neighbors, but not the whole park. Nothing extravagant, but everything you need if you like being in nature. Beautiful scenery and great places to hike/walk around. We will definitely go back. - 2smiths
