Another case of older reviews pulling the rating down. This is my first time to stay here. So I guess it is possible that recent upgrades make this park better than the 7.4 rating it gets. This park is almost perfect. Utilities are modern and first rate. Interior roads are smooth and wide. Restrooms are beautiful. Service is above and beyond. Sites are easy to navigate and spacious. Many reviews mention "full timers". My view is that these were the best kept sites in the park. No cable but lots of OTA channels. There is some noise from the airport and highway, but not excessive. - 70 Nole

Let me start by saying that we avoid RV Parks if it all possible. I would rather Boondock to be stacked on top of each other. However, traveling in Texas in the heat with two small dogs, that is impossible. Having said that, this park was nothing like that. Every time we went into the very nice common area and restrooms someone was cleaning. Maintenance is being done all over the place every day. There are a lot of long-term guest, but they are very proud of their yards. (Yes, we had a yard-with mature trees for shade and privacy!). Everything was immaculate, and I would stay again in a heartbeat. - Christec
Jul 2019 - $40.00
We stayed one night in a 45’ MH. The spots are kinda tight but it was long enough for the rig. Had to unhook toad but no big deal. People are very friendly and helpful. - CLVOIGT
Sep 2019 - $25.00
Nice overnight stay near Lubbock Texas. Stayed 2 nights with our dogs. Enjoyed dining in Lubbock. Large sites with trees. - paul34
Jul 2019 - $25.00
This a an adequate place to stay for overnight. No cable tv and no wifi. Dirt pullthroughs. There are only two spots available for overnighters, so reservationsre a good idea. - RCH
Mar 2018 - $25.00
Stayed for one night heading to Bandera and one night coming back. Perfect for what I needed. I paid the owner $25 for the night and asked if I could stay again in a weeks time when I came back. No problem, he would hold it for me. This is a good place to stay the night, nothing more. - william1996
Oct 2019 - $38.00
Very nice campground. Wind stirs up the dust and train noise would be only negatives but the campground can’t control those issues. Check in was a snap and staff was very helpful. Nice store adjacent to indoor pool and hot tub. - HeadinHome
Aug 2019 - $34.00
Intended to stay here while having service done at Lubbock Freightliner. Park is a little tight on the turns at the end of the rows. Most sites for transients are pull thrus, BUT I do not recommend this park for BIG RIGS. Sites, while level, are tight and VERY SHORT. Some sites have trees that overhang your rig. 40' and under should have no problems here. - JP and P from Florida
Aug 2019 - $38.00
Requested a pull through so we wouldn't have to unhook for an overnight stay. Some sites are too short to accommodate a trailer and tow vehicle, but we were able to get a site that did. Unfortunately, that put us very close to a busy road and RR track, but with the AC running, the noise was minimal. The staff were very helpful, restrooms and laundry facility clean (washers and dryers only accept credit cards but were very reasonably priced) and good WiFi. We used the indoor pool which was clean. - dands
Jul 2017 - $27.00
Only 6 nightly spaces, the others from what I saw were long-timers. The long-timers kept their spaces clean. Roads are asphalt and are very well maintained and the sites are concrete and level. We had a table and BBQ pit. Pool was very crowded due to the large number of long timers. Campground is located to good eateries and a club discount store across the street. Quiet, except someone did complain about a nightly visitor running their generator, no rules against that. There is one shower for men and one for women. Showers were not very clean and mold in the stalls. Otherwise, we would return. - SD75mac
Mar 2017 - $30.00
I will ditto the reviews of 2016. There are only 7 overnight sites. Costco is right across the street which makes it handy. - waxhands
Nov 2016 - $25.00
Great location on the west side of Lubbock near the Loop, so it's easy to get around. We stayed in a "nightly" site which was easy to navigate, ample size, cement and level. Utilities worked well although water h/u was below ground and somewhat difficult to connect. No cable and WIFI was sketchy, but the $25 per night was a good deal. We have stayed here before and will stay again when in the area. - Scott & Nancy
Apr 2019 - $33.00
We had stayed here many years ago and found it nice. We again found it easy to get around in and all hook ups worked well. We used an hot spot so did not use the wifi. Sites could be farther apart. - peddy dick
Sep 2018 - $33.00
This is a great located park in Lubbock. It has quite a few long term residences but every site is well kept so that should not scare you off. One important thing to keep in mind is Lubbock is a college town and Fridays and Saturdays during football season will be booked solid for all home games. We needed to leave on Friday because of this. We didn't give it a perfect score only because both the electric and water are very close to the ground making connections difficult. If your electrical cord or surge protector doesn't bend well you may have a problem. If you don't bend well the water connection being 8" off the ground will have you taking a knee. The pull thru sites are quite long but they are half gravel half concrete. When you pull up onto the concrete pad to align with connections you will have unhitch (5th Wheel) but there is plenty of space on the side or behind your trailer to park tow vehicle. Motorhomes with toads will not have issues because the sites favor them. We will consider this park first on any trip to Lubbock. - Maximilian
May 2018 - $23.00
We gave the park a 5 rating because of it's location... had it been in a less convenient location, we'd give it a 3. WiFi was terrible and when we mentioned it, the owner said "good luck if you can get it... some people have to go outside their coach to get it...". The electrical box was almost at ground level which meant we couldn't use our surge guard without it laying on the ground and it rained hard 2 of the days we were there. The park was clean but crowded, not difficult to maneuver into the site. Laundry facilities were clean (4 washers, 4 dryers). Site was level but concrete pad was badly cracked. - Aus10
Dec 2016 - $40.00
WOW! despite the other reviews, we chose to stay here and had a completely different experience. So, looking at the fact that we were there "off season" vs the reviews in summer... there must be a big difference in having lots of traffic and messy campers in the summer. We found the place to be very clean and pleasant. There was no trash all around, the water was nice, the fishing was fun and pleasant.
There were a lot of big rigs there and most all of us had some problem with getting leveled (we had to try 5 sites to get one where we could level--- arriving in the dark made it harder). The other rigs had obviously used levelers as well as boards to shore up the rig to level.
The woman running the entrance the night we arrived was very nice; the woman the next day was rude and downright hateful.
Highly suggest NOT driving on around the lake thru the residential area with a motorhome and ESPECIALLY if towing--- very narrow and tight.
We can hardly wait to return and have a boat or kayak with us.
We got local tv (plenty of channels) but had almost no cell service-- Verizon : none, Grandson's ATT was always at 1 bar. - ginger2you
Jun 2016 - $35.00
It was very busy during our stay and most of the visitors piggy-backed and parked their extra vehicles on neighboring campsites. I didn't have enough room to properly park my truck. Campers were rowdy and we had to deal with loud music and UTVs into the wee hours. We even had other campers bumping into our trailer and arguing outside our windows from parties that got out of hand. The park police and camp host did nothing to keep things under control. The lake itself has much to offer. - armijot
Jun 2015 - $30.00
Not a great place to stay. The main campground is A and B. Those sites were very close and didn't look too level. There was a live band playing on stage both days we were there. We stayed in campground S, which is across the lake from A and B. The music was at a comfortable level for us, but we were ACROSS the lake!! Would have been miserable to be stuck on that side. Note - this was not a publicized concert. We had no idea of the band until they fired up on Friday.
We would stay there again, but only on the S side. Also, this park DOES NOT take reservations, so for us we drive 2 hours with no guarantee of what is available when we get there.
Lake bottom is nasty, gooey mud that will stick you up to your knees. The S sites are right on the water, so not a bad place if you are just using the RV as a base camp for boats or jet skis. No picnic tables or shade included with your site, just a grassy parking spot. Our site was fairly level, but many others were so far off that they couldn't even get close to leveling their trailers. We did get rain, and most of the spots got really muddy, but it is lakefront so that's expected. We stayed in a fifth wheel. We would probably stay there again, just due to location, but definitely not high on my list to go back to. - rm0852
Aug 2019 - $40.00
This place is out of the high traffic of Lubbock but actually it is very easy to go into Lubbock. Large pull throughs for big rigs. Cable TV, 50 amp water and sewer. No shade. Very little grass in large RV parking area but does have grass inside dog park. Make reservations prior to getting here because this is a very busy place. We have stayed here quite a few times and will stay here again. - Bpetree
Aug 2019 - $35.00
No shade, but cable tv worked great. Okay for an overnight stop. WiFi did not function at all. - russingr
Jul 2019 - $36.00
We have family in Lubbock and were in for the 4th of July and always stay at Mesa Verde, it's our go to place in Lubbock. We had a family situation and had to stay an extra week to take care of things. They moved things around and worked it out for us to be able to stay with no stress. - DKRITTER
Oct 2017 - $10.00
Neat and well maintained county park. Sites are asphalt paved, about 24 are 50/30/20 full hookup. The rest look to be just 30 amp electric. Rate is going to be increased to $25 in a few months, $20 for seniors. Location is across street from the county jail on the South side of town. It is also next to an active railroad track. Both back in and pull thru sites are available. - Russ & Glynna
