This is an older RV park built on the terraces of a drive-in theater. The roads are a mix of asphalt and gravel and aren't in pristine condition, but if observing the campground speed limit, they aren't a particular concern. Because of the contours, some sites are fairly level to start, but then slope down; might be a concern for longer rigs. The owners are very pleasant and the rate is hard to beat for a full hookup site, especially if just looking for an overnight stay. They do lock up the laundry room at 7 PM, so that is something to keep in mind if you need it. We normally stop here when we're passing through. - Trailbuddy
May 2017 - $23.00
The park was a little difficult to find and located in a busy area so there was some street noise but not too bad. Out site was a little uneven sloping down making leveling a challenge. We were there for one night so did not use the facilities but the park seemed clean. Office personnel was friendly and helpful. - Travellers4
Mar 2017 - $23.00
I did not like the conditions of the roads which were rutted, pothole, and full of tree branches and uneven at best. The site was not long enough and had to unhook tow vehicle to park. Observed other sites parking in empty sites next to them which would be a problem for someone coming in and setting up late at night if a vehicle were parked in your assigned site. With barking dogs, vehicles driving fast and cutting between empty sites, I felt permanent sites could do what they want but transit overnighters were held to a stricter standard. The sites were very uneven and I had to back up a hill to rehook. I would not stay here again since management doesn't seem to be interested in repairing the roads or they would have done it by now. - Tj Hunter

Oct 2018 - $45.00
We stayed for three nights to see the area. Nice campground with long level sites. Train whistle seemed louder some nights. - lce3
Sep 2018 - $45.00
Just an overnight stay. Good KOA with mostly level sites, great folk in the office, easy ingress/egress. I am a repeat camper here and I will continue coming back. - olddeadhead
Sep 2018 - $45.00
This is a KOA Journey park...but I don't know why. The staff is great, the store well stocked and this is the place for you if you like train horns all night long. This park used to be gravel but has turned to mostly dusty dirt. One of the MANY Panhandle storms went through and you could barely see two rows for all the dust in the air. It also is close to the airport and even closer to a very busy railroad track. Just about the time I would doze off another train or two would go buy. Very sleepless night. I stay here only when all other Amarillo RV parks are full. - OpaS

Large Pull-thru's and full hookups with 30/50 amp electricity. Specializing in overnight sites for the weary I-40 cross-country traveler. Convenience store is located just across the street. Easy access to I-40. Open year-round ! First come, first serve (no reservations). We use this park each time going South and again back North. Recommend. - NanaK
Oct 2018 - $14.00
About 3/4 of the residents are permanents but each night there seemed to be 5-7 open sites for the transients. All pull-thru. A bit run down but fine for a few nights. Low water pressure but good electricity. Outside the city by a few miles. We would stay here again. - Wandering
Sep 2018 - $14.00
This place is run by remote control, office closed and pay is by putting an envelope with cash or check in. No reservation, first come, first gets a spot. Because it is cheap it gets full after 3PM. Get early in the day to get a spot. Convenient location to visit Amarillo. Many permanent Campers, some with many dogs. Cheap and good for one night stop. - summerdude

Stayed for a week, park is fine, well run, polite staff. Cable didn't work - returned the box they use and stuck with antenna. They did fix the cable. Lost water for a few hours, it was fixed. I would stay again, we had higher expectations and were a little disappointed. Went to Big Tex, once is enough. - retirednrving
Sep 2018 - $33.00
Our go-to park when visiting Amarillo. Check in is always easy, staff is always friendly, and there is escort to site. Nice, level pull-through. All utilities worked well. This park has been bought by The Big Texan and they are in the process of changing the name. Always enjoy the free limo ride to dinner at The Big Texan. - CanDo
Aug 2018 - $33.00
We have stayed here many times and have learned that during any holiday season you MUST have reservations as they most assuredly sell out. They are 100% pull through with (mostly) easy egress. One thing most reviewers don't mention is that they have free coffee and donuts in the office from 8:00 to 9:30 every day. As we pass through Amarillo multiple times a year, this is our preferred resting spot. - OpaS

Dec 2018 - $37.00
Easy off and on exit 60; 2 quick overnight stays headed between E TX - Colorado. Very clean, wide spots, quiet; pull thru with toad that we did not disconnect. Cold, so we did not use pool. Peeked into the restrooms-included shower, all clean. Appeared to be several long-term campers, some in larger sites with parking for several vehicles. Large meeting room with kitchen available for fee. As others have noted, watch for potholes at the truck stop as you turn onto campground street. - hamguy08
Dec 2018 - $40.00
Again we choose Oasis as 0ur over night stay as we travel west. The office and check in is one of my wife's favorite places. Everyone is very nice and accommodating. We have puppy dogs and the office put us near the green belt and dog park. The pizza is worth checking out it was real good. Our site was long and level. We had just a little leak on our water valve and we informed the office as we left and they were very thankful and said they would have maintenance fix it as soon as possible. This is a clean, professional run facility. - Davidsons
Nov 2018 - $49.00
Great place to stop and stay. Ultra clean park, big and very well managed. The staff was very friendly. Near fuel station and Cadillac Ranch (which is not what it is cracked up to be). The campground is great, stay there for sure. Will definitely be back again. - DustyBob

Dec 2018 - $35.00
This is an older RV Campground, but in good shape and clean. The staff was great at check-in. I needed a washer for my water supply hose and they just gave me one. Some airport noise. Close to the Big Texan. There's a limo service that will pick you up, no charge. - Ralph Pinney
Nov 2018 - $35.00
Smaller, older park. PROS: Helpful staff. Long sites, including several with private pet runs. Short drive to the famous Big Texan restaurant. Roads are somewhat narrow but no problems getting our 65-foot big rig in/out following directions. CONS: Lots of road noise being right by the highway. We stopped for one night during a horrible storm so didn't see/use much of the park at all and can't comment further. We will probably stop here again for a night on our way back across the country. - a_elkins
Jul 2018 - $35.00
This park is declining, but it is still a good overnight stop. It has FHU sites that are level and easy to access. It is close to I-40 and there is some road noise, but nothing that bothered us. The office staff was friendly both on the phone and at check-in. There is no pool or wi-fi. Our AT&T hotspot worked great. We travel this way fairly frequently and will likely stay here again. - codgette

Jul 2018 - $36.00
Reading some of the previous reviews make me laugh. This is a diamond in the rough, with extras. For example, some sites are long enough that you don't have to unhook. Two sites are for overnights only where you don't unhook. There are 2 sewer drains to each site which you don't see at high end parks. Great covered pavilion for cookouts, jungle jim for the kids, great grassy area to play in. Sites might be gravel but they are all level. Some sites are shaded, some not. For the camper that has trouble backing in, not to worry: ALL sites are pull-thrus. Yes, there are monthlies here but it is not a "tweaker" park. Showers are clean, laundry is clean with all new machines. And management is helpful with smiles galore. We stayed here when it was the other park and this is a 100% improvement. - cookie s
Jun 2017 - $36.00
Not much in the way of amenities and it's about the same price as other area campgrounds but we were surprised at how expensive it was for seasonal campers. We also weren't impressed about the cleanliness of the place. It was okay, but you could tell the bathrooms were only cleaned maybe once or twice a week. If you can't find anything else in the area and you're desperate for a place to sleep for the night, it'll due. - EastWest
Mar 2017 - $37.00
This place is a tough one to review because the cost for the month, or the monthly rates are within a range. If you plan to stay for the season, you'll either pay $375 or $425 per month -- and part of the electric bill is covered in those amounts. We have never stayed at a campground where people pay different amounts for longer term stays. All of the sites are identical with the exception of a couple of nice pull-through sites by a dog park but those are only available for short term stays. The office told us one price before we arrived and then, about two weeks later, the price changed to $425. The rates went up, we were told. Really? The bathrooms were clean but none of the vents worked in the ladies' room and if you went to use the shower very early in the morning, there were some kind of bugs on the floor. There are plenty of places nearby: we'll go elsewhere next time. - AmericaTheBeautiful

Jun 2018 - $25.00
We paid the cash rate of $25 per for a 50 amp FHU. It makes for an ok pit stop when traveling I-40. Limited number of 50 amp sites available. The RV portion of the park is definitely rough around the edges. But everything worked, the sewer did drain slow at times. WiFi was pretty good for us, we were at the end of a row next to the bath rooms. The site surface is mostly large stone, 1.5 - 2", over gravel and mostly level. Can be hard on the feet. If there is no one around upon arrival, check the gift shop. Not a destination stop, but ok for visiting Palo Duro Canyon and stocking up on supplies as there is pretty much 1 of everything here. - Bob and Inga
May 2018 - $26.00
Having experience with other local parks, I would say this is the least expensive quality park in the area. Arrived in mid-afternoon with no reservation. Got a decent site, though a little short for a 40' coach with tow. Typical dirt/gravel with relatively wide streets. Good utilities, power/water/sewer. - AFChap
Oct 2017 - $26.00
Nice place for an overnight. The campground is level on gravel. We barely fit in w/o unhooking our toad. Sites are close together, park was not crowded, but we had neighbors. Hookups all worked OK. Seems to be a well managed park. We would stay here again. - Sleeps Two

This park was a welcome stop along our travels from Balloon Fiesta to Nomadfest in Wellington. A cold front came through and it was great to re-group, do laundry, clean and stay warm. Front desk folks were very friendly and helpful. The Lizzie Mae gift shop is a great place to browse for the item one always needs in an RV, plus it has some Christmas items. Site was very level, large and long....no problem fitting our truck and fifth wheel, plus our extra vehicle and balloon trailer. - Carried Away
Sep 2018 - $37.00
Good location for a two day stop. But the park is older and in need of some TLC - paint on the fences (some of which are held up by steel posts), pick up the trash (cigarette butts my pet peeve), playground table has mold from wet spots, etc. Good Sam website rates it a 10 but no way. We did ask to have our site cleaned of butts and trash and they did that quickly. Our site was large and level with good parking for the toad. We seemed to be in the permanent section. I will say that the flies are pretty terrible. Have your swatter readily available! Did enjoy the retail store Lizzie Mars. Sam's club just down the road is great to resupply and has the cheapest diesel in town. - Blowfishqueen
Aug 2018 - $38.00
Excellent service, easy access. Most sites are gravel, with good spacing and fences between sites. Great gift shop, friendly staff. - Cowboy camper

The staff was friendly and helpful, the park was kind of run down, few trees, but level. We had a pull through with plenty of room for our 42' MH with toad. They had quite a few permanents. It is easy on easy off from the interstate. Palo Duro RV Park is good for an overnight while passing through. We would stay again if in the area. - bnlazy
Jun 2018 - $25.00
We have been here on and off for a number of years. The park had declined somewhat over the years. A new manager came in last year and seems bent on really fixing the park up. She has greatly improved the Wi-Fi, she has painted things up, made repairs, improved the landscaping and done a lot of improvements to the park. We are full timers, who are in transitioning to (?) something else. It doesn't take much to make us happy, but she, the new manager, seems to be trying hard. I have seen quite a bit of improvement over the last six months. - Mike Wilson
Apr 2018 - $30.00
We stay 3 nights, the Park was clean and maintained. We had no problem with the power or water. There were about 50% of permanent campers but they were in the back. Not a lot of shade. The sites were gravel and level. The staff was very helpful. There was some road noise but not too bad. Just be careful of the speed bumps coming in to the Park. We would come back. It was close to the canyon and close to some good restaurants in the town of Canyon. - Joenorton1
