Stayed overnight. Right off I-40 but construction is making access difficult. You have to go to exit 75, follow the service road east, go under I40 and back west on the other service road. Very friendly and helpful people. They provide a pilot vehicle to take you to your site. However back in sites utilities are on the wrong side you have to pull in and disconnect your tow vehicle and pull it back around behind the RV if you want to use the tow vehicle. Thus the limo mentioned in the other review. We stayed connected since we are heading out first thing. And back out in the morning. Lots of room, soe trees but not big enough to give a lot of shade. Site is level. WIFI is excellent, I see 6 routers for the park. Ours is 867 MBS but some others are 144 I would have rated the place as an 8 except for this oddity. We camped at Big Texan RV Ranch (formerly Amarillo Ranch RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Overnighted here between Santa Fe and OK City. Site was clean and long enough to not disconnect. The Big Texan Steakhouse is operated by the same outfit, and they run a limo with longhorn hood ornament to take RV'ers to/from the restaurant (you saw a hew hundred I-40 billboards advertising this restaurant with "free" 72-oz steak). Very convenient if you want a steak and don't want to disconnect your tow vehicle. The steakhouse is a little touristy but the steak was good. Office staff was friendly and efficient. We were escorted to site. WIFI was OK for email/web. We camped at Big Texan RV Ranch (formerly Amarillo Ranch RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We liked this park. Don't expect lush, grassy landscapes, but they do have very spacious pull thru sites with good working utilities, including strong wifi. To exit the pull-thrus in our section you would pull forward and turn down a shared central aisle that everyone used; very easy and efficient. While they were very busy, check-in was still pretty quick and efficient. The grounds were huge and well-kept with plenty of room to walk the dog. We camped at Big Texan RV Ranch (formerly Amarillo Ranch RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy friendly check in. Escorted to our site (I never would have found it) Level gravel site with good power- cable didn't work, SLOW WiFI. 3 dog parks but NO shade. Pool and spa are great. Lots of little stickers our dogs picked up plenty. Limo ride to there steakhouse was fun . We camped at Big Texan RV Ranch (formerly Amarillo Ranch RV Park) in a Motorhome.

People were wonderful. They have coffee and donuts every morning. They have the sites arranged so the sewers are back to back. I'd rather sit looking at the campers door rather than the sewer. We didn't use the pool or any facilities as we were busy exploring. We camped at Big Texan RV Ranch (formerly Amarillo Ranch RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Large RV Park, they placed us up front near the entrance in a gravel lot.Which was ok by us, nothing to write home about but ok. Park staff friendly and helpful. We stayed here for a week hoping to have an awning fixed locally. Loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Noise day and night from I40, we would definitely stay again when in the area. We were charged a weekly rate of $200.00 with good Sams discount. We camped at Big Texan RV Ranch (formerly Amarillo Ranch RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Setting: Large sites, mostly pull-thru's but there is someone in front of or behind you so only pull thru if you are there first. Guided help to your site. Level gravel surrounded by grass. Power good water ater pressure is 85lbs. be sure you use a regulatory.  Indoor swimming pool, hot tub and 3 fenced in dog walk. Walking distance (across the street) to a water park. Friendly staff. AT&T Cell & wifi ok but slow. Free coffee and donuts in the morning. Although we didn't utilize it, they have a free limo shuttle service to the Big Texan Steak Ranch restaurant.  We will stay again when in the area. I stayed 5 weeks here in their monthly/long term spots around the outer edge. It was a nice place to stay and is fairly busy with people coming and going. They are owned by the Big Texan Steak place and a limo comes around and will take you to go eat and bring you back. They have an indoor heated pool, hot tub and sauna. Staff is friendly and helpful and would recommend this place if you are just stopping by or staying for an extend time. I would definitely stay here again.

The park is a mix of long term residents and a section of sites for the short term RVers. Our site was pull through, gravel and just long enough for our rig and tow vehicle. The park is an easy on and off of I-40 and good for visiting the area or for an overnight stop. We did not check out the amenities, but can confirm that the wifi worked reasonably well. We would stay here again when in the area. We rate this park a 4 out of 5 for the convenience and the price. All of the pictures and reviews at our blog at thegilliamsisland. This was a very nice Good Sam park. Check in was very easy and they guided us to site 123 for our overnight stay. Before our guide left, he let us know that the water pressure was about 80 psi so ensure you have pressure reducer. We had ours set at 55 psi and we enjoyed wonderful shower pressure. Prior, we had been in Arizona and New Mexico State Parks, which did not have the greatest water pressure. Cable also worked great. They have two dog areas that are both adjacent to the shower house that worked well for our two dogs.

Overall Rating:

The campground is relatively easy access from I-10. Given the pattern of the frontage road, one must go past the campground on I-10 and backtrack to the campground. The campground has a unique layout with paved interior roads and sites that are grass, dirt, or gravel and arranged in a pattern that seems a bit random. We drive a 45 foot MH with a tow and were able to navigate into, through, and out of the campground with the tow attached. Out site was a pull-through in a dirt area just to the right of the office. We were able to exit easily as the space ahead of us was empty but it would have been much more difficult otherwise. The utilities are placed mid-site and work well. Satellite, OTA, and Verizon reception good. We did not use the Wi-Fi, laundry, or rest rooms so cannot comment on that. There did not seem to be a designated area for kids to play and there was a small dog park. Although staff were helpful, we would try one of the other campgrounds in the area the next time through. We camped at Big Texan RV Ranch (formerly Amarillo Ranch RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Stayed for a week, park is fine, well run, polite staff. Cable didn't work - returned the box they use and stuck with antenna. They did fix the cable. Lost water for a few hours, it was fixed. I would stay again, we had higher expectations and were a little disappointed. Went to Big Tex, once is enough. We camped at Big Texan RV Ranch (formerly Amarillo Ranch RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Our go-to park when visiting Amarillo. Check in is always easy, staff is always friendly, and there is escort to site. Nice, level pull-through. All utilities worked well. This park has been bought by The Big Texan and they are in the process of changing the name. Always enjoy the free limo ride to dinner at The Big Texan.
