We were there with friends and it was a nice quiet place. We camped at Mystic Quarry Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park, quiet. Sites are spacious, nice walking trails. Park could be managed better. We called ahead to let them know when we would check in as required and they were not prepared for us when we arrived. A couple days later, my wife went to the office to order some firewood, it was not delivered when they said it would be. We had to go back and ask about it and it was finally delivered the following day. Another issue, our site was next to the dog walk area. We had 2 dogs ourselves. AFTER we left, my credit card was charged $25.00 for pet waste. I am pretty meticulous about cleaning up after our dogs, but maybe I forgot or missed some. Been camping for over 20 years with dogs and NEVER got charged for "excessive pet waste" before. I think a phone call was warranted to discuss this problem with me. I think it is a poor service to charge my credit card a day after I leave. That is poor management. I won't go back there because of that and its too bad, it really IS a nice park and I didn't find anyone to be rude, just some strange behavior, I guess. Other than that seemed like a great park with great sites. We camped at Mystic Quarry Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderful park with friendly staff and snowbirds. Walking trail, bocce courts, pool, sky view observation, teepees to rent, cabins, tiny houses, live oaks proving shade in every area, lots of daily activities...a place where we would consider staying for a month. Newer owners are updating and expanding facilities. We had family staying in a cabin and our RV site was very convenient to them. We camped at Mystic Quarry Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Like previous reviews, you can really see the effort the new owners have put into bringing this legacy campground up to modern standards. They've created a really nice vibe very appropriate for the area. There is a choice of sites in their "courtyard" which is more open or in the "campground" which has more trees. The dog park is terrific, there are activities and events almost every day and every employee we encountered was friendly and welcoming. There's a nice pool, bocce ball courts, a rec hall and even a "play" cattle roping for the kids to try. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Mystic Quarry Resort in a Motorhome.

The folks that own the park are very dedicated to the park and occupants. They bought the park and are constantly upgrading. It's a great park now and will only get better. Long, packed gravel sites. Lots of space around sites. Good facilities. Shuttle bus available to go to events, Guadalupe River and surrounding cities. Went to Wurstfest in New Braunfels. We'll be back! We camped at Mystic Quarry Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has tiny houses, lodges, TP's, tent and RV sites. We had great shade during the afternoon heat/sun but the branches did block the satellite receiver. Great pool, much better than average WiFi, nice amount of room between rigs, helpful and congenial employees, and located near some restaurants. The sites are gravel and our utilities were kinda spread out; the water and electrical hook ups were toward the back of the site and the sewer was at the front. Be aware of this when you position your rig. We enjoyed our stay here and will be back for a short respite from the big city. We camped at Mystic Quarry Resort in a Motorhome.

This place is a great location very near to the Guadalupe River. There were many options for accommodations (RV sites, tent sites, tiny homes, cottages, and tipis). They are not directly on the river, but they work with a local company that will shuttle you to and from the river. They have draft beer available at the office (VERY reasonably priced!!). The staff have clearly put a lot of money and time into making this a top notch resort (they bought in 2016 and revamped the place)! Everyone is very friendly and willing to help with any issues. Our daily rate reflects our monthly rate for staying here. We camped at Mystic Quarry Resort in a Motorhome.

VERY close to the Guadalupe River for floating. Schlitterbahn Waterpark is only about 30 minutes away. Several great dining options are less than a hour away. Two grocery stores are within 15 miles. Movie theater about 15 miles away. Walmart and Target within 20 miles. Buc-ee's Gas Station 13 miles away. Shuttles to nearby Whitewater Amphitheater offered during most music performances.

Outstanding ambiance, customer service, appearance. Quiet park with a very natural setting -- nothing like the cookie cutter parks these days. So many trees it may be difficult to find a satellite signal if you need that sort of thing. Large grassy areas and trails to walk around with or without your dog. Owners are a hard working couple that never seem to stop trying to improve the resort. One of the best places we've stayed in our first year of full-time RVing. We camped at Mystic Quarry Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Under new ownership. We were referred to this park by friends. The owners won the Canyon Lake Beautification award for all the work they have done to the property. I see the staff daily making improvements and taking care of things. The office staff is very friendly and super helpful. They are in the heart of the Canyon Lake tubing areas and it looks like they even have their own shuttle bus. I imagine it will get really busy when the warmer season begins. This is both an RV park (with a few full-timers) and traditional campground with separate remote area for tents and hiking. They even have teepees! I love all the amenties including bocce ball, hammocks, happy hours on Friday with live music, and other activities. It's located right off the 306 which is a somewhat busy area. But from our site, we can't hear any street noise. My only complaint is that our specific site (backup) has the patio area facing the neighbor's patio. So when we walk out, we're essentially sharing the area outside our door. They are a nice older couple so it's not too awkard, but if it were loud children or animals, I can see how this might be a little uncomfortable. And I don't think that the other sites have this kind of setup. I think we may be in a "trailer" site vs a motorhome one which is why it's like this. I don't know. The other thing that's not great is that the sites where we are at are all gravel with a lot of larger stones. There's itty bitty spots of grass but not much compared to the rest of the park where it looks like each site has a nice patch of grass. For us with two small doggies, it would be nice if there was grass near by for them. But there are nice grassy doggie areas, complete with potty bag stations. Overall we'd be back for sure. We camped at Mystic Quarry Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Canyon Lake is very spread out. Small mom and pop eateries and stores. If you head west along the 306 about 7 minutes you'll run into more amenities including the Brookshire Brothers grocery store (which we found to be very expensive). We preferred to shop down the hill at the super HEB right off the I35 freeway and exit to Canyon Lake. There's actually a ton of shopping in that same area off the freeway.
