Dec 2018 - $1.00
I will never stay here again...... I am very disappointed with this experience. The first night we were to check in the ranger was not at the station and we waited outside the gates for almost two hours in the cold for someone to check us in!!! I had called ahead that day and so they knew we would be arriving at 9:15pm (their website instructs you to do this if your arrival will be after 8pm). They knew we were coming and still they left us stranded. We ended up spending our first night outside the gates in their parking lot. This was the beginning of a trend of disappointment with our stay at Medina Lake. We were faced with new frustrations everyday we stayed here (total of 1 week). They charge you for receiving packages and if you use USPS they will turn the delivery man away at the door and you will need to drive over 20 min to the nearest post office to receive your package. Also, they will not accommodate you in any way should you need help understanding their many hidden and unrealistic rules. You also should not leave the premises is you are not a thousand trails member!! Be warned it is extremely difficult to get back to your campsite once you drive off the location. They also will interrogate you upon your return when you ask them to lift the gate for you. All in all I was very sad with this stay as I was excited to feed the deer and kayak on their lake. I would say those are the only two good things. I wish I could write a better review...... it is beautiful scenery and the deer that just walk up to you are amazing. The staff really need lessons in hospitality and accommodating their guests. - LEB3202015

The park seems to show overall lack of upkeep, especially with so many sites sporting the red box - indicating not in use. The grounds look tired, unkept (lots of debris in the underbrush), and old. The grounds need to be rejuvenated so that it looks much better. Many of the sites in Section R and F had gravel and debris strewn across the sites, making selection of the site a challenge without the potential camper first clearing it. The activity center in general is well kept, although we encountered a pipe smoker in the games room, which limited our use. I am certain when summer comes along the activity center is very active. Also the games room was kind of creepy with the shrine that is in the TV portion of the room. An RV park is not the place for such a shrine. The wifi worked exceptionally well, but I would prefer 4G or 5G throughout the RV park, if you could afford this infrastructure. The biggest let down was the laundry room. We were forced to use it because we did not wish to drive into Bandera or SA. It is not clean, nor is it well maintained. You need a crew to go through the washing machines, move around the tubs, get the guck off the tubs and clean the lids - it was revolting. This did not reflect well upon your maintenance. When using the laundry room I noticed that the maintenance of machines is outsourced, which likely means that the outsourcing firm is responsible for cleanliness. They are not doing the job, so somebody else should. - michaelsutton

Thousand Trails park, interior roads need some work, we got the last of the 50 amp sites available as some are seasonal sites. Water pressure is low, had to use coach pump to increase it to satisfactory pressure. 50 amp good, sewer location near rear of coach, needed an extension hose. Loved this park - teaming with wildlife, deer in front of the coach each morning and evening. We stayed here in 40 ft MH, AT&T acceptable, satellite TV OK. - walt662001

Dec 2018 - $30.00
Be careful, Don't deposit when you make a reservation, they won't refund you anymore. They will find a <reason> to keep the money when you left. I deposited USD 100 for electricity, but they charged for electricity again when I left. This resort is very noisy, there is a road beside of the lots, all cars and trucks pass all day night. The worst is that the lady works in the office. She lied to me when I made the reservation. - Rebeca29
Apr 2018 - $45.00
This was one of the nicest parks we've ever stayed at. Off the main roads it's got its own golf course! My husband got a tee time on Golfnow for $17 including cart! Cement roads and pads with grass and patios. They have "casitas" which are much more money but park your rig next to them and instant private showers & kitchen. Lovely pool and hot tub although lots of bugs in the water. I'm surprised there weren't more travelers there - it seems a hidden secret for Texans but it's certainly worth the effort if you're going to be in the San Antonio area. About 30 minutes from downtown and not much traffic. Convenient to shopping and staff is very friendly. The only criticism would be the ladies washroom showers are not very private - the shower curtain only covers half the entrance to the shower itself and opens to the main public area. No seats or benches except in the one handicapped room so you have to put your bag on the floor and dry yourself in the main area. Kind of reminded me of the showers in high school :-) Very clean though. We woke up in morning with a couple of cows peeking over the fence behind our spot! We would definitely stay here again. - Catsinatrailer

Stayed here over a long weekend. Nice campground. Immaculately maintained. Staff friendly and helpful. Had a back in site. No picnic table or grill otherwise would have given it a 10. Wouldn't hesitate to come back here. - davis0056

Jan 2019 - $25.00
We stayed here for a week when our son graduated from Air Force basic training. It's about a 20 minute drive to Lackland. The weekly rate is now $180. A one night stay is $45, which is way overpriced. Apparently the full timers were all kicked out and there are very few RVs here now. Full hookups, excellent Wi-Fi (not much competition at the moment). There no host. There's a trailer here that says "host" but there's a host here only occasionally. So say the friendly ladies at City Hall, where you have to go to pay for your site. Police patrol regularly. Coyotes and a very distant train whistle at night. Nice spot. - Dsbrega
Sep 2017 - $24.00
We stayed here for a week while visiting family in San Antonio in our 21' Travel Trailer. We called ahead to reserve a spot 4 days ahead and left a message. After not getting a call back, we called again the day before and spoke with someone to reserve a spot. Finding this park isn't too difficult, don't let the residential area you drive through with poor streets deter you. We arrived around 4:45pm and the camp host/ranger told us he had "about given up on us". We had our pick of the two remaining spots. This park is laid out inside a county park. There is a fenced in area where there are about 30 sites (it seems like most of these sites are people living here full time). This area has a fair amount of trees and shade and is where the bath house is located (we never used it). Then outside that fenced in area is basically what looks like a converted parking lot from the park. This has an additional 10 spots. We were on the end of this area, closest to the actual rv park. There are picnic tables at each spot, as well as full hookups. The sites are close together, but not the worst we have been in. We paid cash to our host (we did get a receipt) and we got the weekly rate of $165. There is wifi which was actually not terrible. The park itself is great to walk around in and has some hiking trails. There was a ton of wildlife in the park at night, including at least 2 dozen deer who slept in the field just outside our trailer, which our dog loved. Speaking of dogs, my wife was talking to another camper and she said that next year they will be enforcing a policy of not allowing certain dog breeds into the park. If this is true, it is a real shame. Overall, a decent place to spend some time visiting San Antonio. Compared to other RV parks we saw, this one is further from the highway and enjoys a great park to hike or walk in. - sjeuck
Jan 2017 - $35.00
This is a friendly place to stay, about 15 miles west of San Antonio. The RV Park is part of the Castroville Regional Park. It's next to a small river, so there's plenty of hiking and wildlife viewing. I guess you can fish too, if you like. Wi-fi is very good.
All sites are gravel pull-thru, level, and long enough for most rigs. There's not much space between sites, but enough.
The only down side is there's only one shower. The shower itself is very large and works well. There are a couple of curtains covering the shower area, but there's no private changing area. Just a large bench. It reminds me of a high school gym locker room. - Rover Travels

Dec 2012 - $11.00
We stayed at this park last year because of the proximity to our son's home at a rate of $275. This year the rate has gone up to $325 (50 amp). Not a single thing has been done to improve this park so no idea why the price hike. The owner has been working on the building for at least 6 years now. No laundry, no showers, no bathrooms, no Wi-Fi. Most of the sites are not level. We had to use several boards under our front tires so they wouldn't be off the ground. The view out our windshield is several piles of dirt. - debken
Feb 2007 - $25.00
This is a new park, the bath house will be built this year, and wi-fi will be available next year. The trees are growing and the yards are big. The owners are very nice and keep the park looking nice. You are able to watch a beautiful sunset or walk down to the Medina River and fish or just relax. It is going to be a great park. - unhappyintx

May 2018 - $45.00
One day weekend stay in Class C - 30amp. Power / water / sewer hookups. (Sewer pipes must not be very deep - when I did "flush" on my sewer line, a bit of it overflowed out of the drain pipe). Roaming deer and turkeys was the highest attraction. Clubhouse had (2) TV's, kids playroom, pool table, magazines, puzzles, microwave, free coffee and a couple of vending machines. Horseshoes / putt-putt golf and miniature tennis outside. An older clubhouse, but maintained. Adult pool, kiddie pool and spa (kiddie pool was temporarily out of service due to leak). Easy lake access for boat launch. Lake is a bit low, so floating pier is partially on land, but you can't blame resort for that. Most areas are heavily wooded if you like the natural look. I could tell there are some "old-timers" there, but they seemed to keep their space satisfactorily. It is an older park, but maintenance seems satisfactory. Since we like the natural look, it worked out fine for us. Price a bit higher than others around the area, but ok for a couple of nights. My gripe was that you had to call 1-800 number to reserve because they want to try and sell you ThousandTrails membership. - TxRes98

I was staying at Lake Medina RV Resort from Nov. to Mid April. I thought that I had found a perfect RV Resort. Beautiful Lake views, the nicest fellow RVers, I was so content....BUT EVERYTHING CHANGED. I was ask to join new friends at a campfire when suddenly I was singled out, humiliated in front of the new group, verbally abused and felt physically threatened by the acting manager. He never told me what his problem was or even allowed me to speak. All I know is that he yelled, flailed his arm and rocked back and forth in an extremely aggressive manner without telling me what rules were broken, or giving a viable explanation. I felt terrified he would actually strike me. He yelled that I was to be out of the park by noon the next day and never return, or he would personally drag me and my motorhome out. He even threatened the others when they told him that he was out of control. They were told that if they did not like how he handled things that their rigs had wheels and they could get in them and leave too. The owners allowed me to stay until I could drive or get a driver, but never offered an explanation as to why this happened. So, to all of my RV friends, please do not think of coming here. Save yourselves the misery, especially if you are in a vulnerable group; a senior, a female, alone, handicapped or in medical distress. It is not what it seems to be from the photos and reviews. I truly believe that this man will hurt someone, if not me...it could be you. They state cable and WiFi. But there was no cable at my site, it had been damaged during a flood years ago and never repaired. WiFi is iffy at best. - Trish2u
Apr 2018 - $35.00
Stayed with a rally group so our rate reflects a rally discount. This park has a lot of winter Texans who are very active. There was something going on almost every evening. Our rally group was welcomed as old friends. The meeting area was large with a fully equipped kitchen and a nice patio with a bbq pit available for use. The drive there is through hills and has lots of ups and downs. Some sites are shaded and all have full hookups. Lots of space for walking pets. - Marty H

This is a brand new small park. Don't expect too much as they are still working on it. It is located out in the country about 30 min from downtown San Antonio. Very quiet and peaceful and not much around. Owner and the staff are very nice and personable. If you want peace and quiet, this the place. Call ahead of your arrival at the gate may be closed and you need a code. - db77
May 2017 - $38.00
We arrived on May 27 and stayed till August 1st. We knew there were no amenities and excepted that fact but were assured that shower, laundromat, wifi, and dog park would be completed by July 1st. They have not been completed as of this writing. Our neighbors consisted of 2 other campers. As now only one remains as us and another person left today. My wife fell down and fractured a rib after tripping at the laundry room construction area in the evening while walking our dog. Management never commented; nor acknowledged this incident. We thought she was just sore from the fall and hoped the pain would subside. Two days later; she was having trouble breathing so we went to a emergency clinic in the evening. Diagnosed with a fractured rib. We were going to head home for a few days to take care of our end of month business; but she was too sore to make the trip. So I had to go alone. While I was there she got worse and called me. I called our neighbor and he checked on her and decided to call 911 for transport to the emergency room at the nearest hospital. He tried to contact Resort manager to have them open the ranch gate for EMS. They never responded. Had he not been there; they would never have gained access. He let them in and proceeded to the hospital. These people never responded nor shown any concern. I don't like writing reviews; but feel people need to know what to expect. Especially elderly RVers such as us. - W-Johnson

Chose this park because it was affiliated with Coast to Coast. After driving about 10 miles down a paved country road, filled with numerous potholes, arrived at a locked gate to what appeared to be a trailer park. Called the number to the "clubhouse" and was told someone would arrive to allow us entry in a few minutes. After more that a 15 minute wait, we followed another vehicle in. Found the RV park, which was behind the "clubhouse". It was completely empty, not one rig. We drove around to select a spot and observed that the grass at all spots was extremely high, I mean at least 2 feet high - obvious has not been mowed in a long time. Most spots had picnic tables that were so warped by the sun they were unusable. We picked a spot in front of the restroom/shower building and my wife went in to use the restroom and I parked. She came right out and said there were 2 women and a man in the ladies room and that the room was very trashy, she was a little spooked. She also noted there were no locks on the door. While I was waiting on the wife, I looked at the spot's power pedestal that looked like it had been backed over. I would not have hooked up to it. We decided that this park wasn't for us so we just left. We did not go into the "Clubhouse" so I can't comment on the staff. We did feel that it was a shame the park was in such a sad state of repair, the area actually looked pretty nice with lots of shade trees. Wonder if their Coast to Coast affiliation is still valid? I would not recommend this RV Park. - CU-RVers
Jan 2015 - $10.00
Since this park was listed with coast to coast we endeavored to book a site. When we called the park directly on a Wednesday and were advised that we needed to call coast to coast which we did. However when we called back there was no answer and a voice mail about office closure Monday to Wednesday and to leave a message for a call back- no call back ever came. We actually found the park in the dark after numerous misplacement or rather we think we found the park. There was no actual signage So if indeed we did find it and what we saw were sites we would not fit due to low hanging wires.
We ended up finding our way back out in the dark and going further down the road to a easier access grounds. Definitely not planning to return. It is my understanding that we were able to cancel the remaining 8 nights but forfeited a night as a no show. So definitely, absolutely not returning This is 7 miles down a paved road which then turns to a almost 2 lane unmarked, pothole ridden dirt road. - witchey1
Aug 2014 - $10.00
The rate is Coast to Coast. This park is in the hill country and rather remote. The road to it is very hilly with lots of dips that potentially can flood and close the road to the park. You have to go slowly. We left the park early because a major rain storm was coming and the road probably would be closed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The park could use some maintenance, e.g., grass cutting. The clubhouse and pool are nice. The sites are level but close together. Not many RVs were in the park when we were there. It is a good idea to call ahead if you are arriving on a Monday through Wednesday since the office is closed, even if you have a reservation. We would not stay here again. - JGockel
