We stayed one night on our way to Big Bend National Park. The owner was extremely nice and helpful. I don't remember the price we paid, but it was very reasonable. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at Broke Mill for a weekend on our way home while on a family vacation. When we checked in, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well kept. The restrooms, laundry and fitness room were spotless. We were in a pull through site, which wasn't really necessary for us, but it was nice! The pool area (we didn't use the pool) was very clean. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park. We only stayed one night, but will come back. Staff is very friendly and this park is so clean and tidy. There is freeway noise but I wear earplugs so it didn't bother me. I hiked on the hiking trail and it was very pretty. Sites are very spacious and on gravel. We didn't unhook but it's still pretty level. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for a week in our motorhome. The site was more than long enough to include the tow dolly. Water and electric were reliable. The park was kept clean. The facilities were top notch. The WiFi was incredible compared to what we've found for several years. It made up for no cable, which got inconvenient to users we were told. I would have rated this park a 10 if it wasn't for the road noise, but then the location was very convenient. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Whitehead Museum was very interesting. Bracketsville was a disappointment because what we went to see was closed forever.

Clean park, friendly staff. We arrived on a Thursday for a one night stay and asked about their weekly dinner. They had tickets available for two more diners. Dinner was filet mignon, mashed potatoes, baked beans, cornbread, assorted cobblers with ice cream for dessert. The beef was amazing- so tender and delicious. A band played after dinner and we enjoyed dancing a few Texas two steps. Highly recommend the dinner! They have a great dog run area with a dog wash- our dog was desperately in need of a wash after 3 1/2 weeks on the dusty campgrounds trail. So we used that as well. Also, we appreciated the great WiFi. Highly recommend this campground and would stay here again. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Just outside of Del Rio, west side by the new TX79 and US90 intersection. Relatively level gravel sites with gravel roads. No picknic tables or a pad. Good room between sites with some grass and bushes. Big bushes at the corners made it difficult to turn in with our big rig. New off leash dog park added this year. Tall bamboo hedge between the park and US90 (makes the entrance a bit tricky to see) cuts down some of the road noise, but during the day there is a lot of road noise. At night there is not much traffic. Only a few sites available for short time stays. Rest are for long term folks either working the pipeline or Border Patrol. Most of the other RV parks are full up with these same folks. Owner is really nice! Didn't really see any other staff. WiFi is EXCELLENT! Good signal strength and high speed internet access. Streaming was not a problem. Easy access to Lake Amistad NRA. We will stay here again on our way back next fall. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to Seminole Canyon State Park and hike out the the Panther Cave overlook. With a good telephoto lens or binoculars you can see the pictographs in the cave very easily. The Criple Creek restaurant just east of the TX79 intersection is a pretty good restaurant for steak.

Stopped for one night and stayed for two. Nice park and the staff was great. We made reservations for one night on the way south from Big Bend, we asked to stay an extra night and they worked out. The park is packed with regulars and pipeline workers. They keep what looks like about 10-12 sites for overnighters. The workers and regulars are pretty much separate so not much morning noise. A little problem with shrubs being close. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is for a 35-day stay ($385 monthly rate plus $187 for an additional week). Park is clean, quiet and consistently well-run. They had to give up their cable TV contract so beefed up the park wifi (excellent) to permit streaming. Owner also raises beef cattle and does a fine filet mignon dinner on Thursday nights in the social hall, with a live country band and dancing. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very good park for short stays and offers good value with the essentials for longer stays. Long, level, gravel pads. No patio area other than grass. Sites have a moderate amount of room. Small shrubs create some impression of separation. Very clean throughout. Hookups at the back may require your extra hoses. Easy to maneuver, traffic pattern well defined. Exiting sites 3 - 5 isn't a problem going round one of the other loops. Fantastic staff and phenomenal (!) wifi. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Motorhome.

Visited in the past and like the place and staff so much that we stayed 3 months this year. New owners and staff are excellent. Large dirt/gravel sites with grass yard. Hook ups at back of site, good water pressure and electric good. Bathroom and all buildings, cleanest we have been in. Very nice facilities. Thursday night dinner, filet beans cornbread mash potatoes cobbler and ice cream, during the winter months for sure. Local band plays music for 2 hours after dinner. Some road noise but not bad. Separate area for workers and winter Texans. Will be back. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Motorhome.

Things I love about this place: 1. The owners here are wonderful. We're told they are new, owners since Sept. 2018. They are always busy but are still so pleasant and accommodating. The previous owner stays here sometimes and he's very, very nice too. 2. The grounds are spotlessly clean and the buildings are even cleaner. 3. This is the only laundry room I've ever liked (I am very fussy about my laundry.) All new machines that clean AND rinse very well. 4. Thursday night dinner and music. This is a must, plan your visit to attend. There is a place to run your dogs east of the campground but one of my dogs was bitten by a fire ant just walking around in the designated dog walk area. She was miserable for a few days, one pad swelled up. So I didn't want to let them off leash. The fire ants were really bad because it had been raining a lot. There is a bike path that runs west out of the park, it is dirt/gravel/stone that is useful to get some mileage in but it is not very scenic. No real TV but we didn't care about that. We borrowed DVDs from the lending library instead, plus the internet is very good. They have Cowboy Church there on Sunday mornings. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Val Verde Winery produces some outstanding tawny port, well worth a visit if you are a port lover or even if you're not. J&P Bar and Grill in Comstock has some of the best food we've had on this trip.

Nice clean park right next to the highway with associated traffic noise during the day but quiet at night. Long level sites were packed gravel with small grass areas between, trees and shrubs provide some privacy from your neighbors. Brochure shows digital cable TV but also require a proprietary converter from a local provider thus for short term stays you gon't get cable. OTA TV picked up several channels, most in Spanish. Verizon signal good. Pool looked clean. Interior roads are asphalt. Utilities worked well but were near the rear of the site so required long hookups. Two small negatives: only one dumpster site near the exit and only one way to exit the interior of the park so turning to exit from pull through sites 3-5 can be very tight due to proximity to event center. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park was just an overnight stop for us but I would stay longer if I needed to be in the area or I wintered in Texas. This is a nice park. Park was developed in 2008 by the owner and he is quite proud of the park. It is pretty large with over 80 sites. Yes, it is right off the US highway but he has used bamboo or similar crops as borders to buffer wind, sand, and road noise. We were five spots from the highway and didn't have any issues with road noise. There are a fair number of snow-birds in residence and it seems that short termers like us are directed over to sites 1-20 area which is ok. I asked for a spot away from the road and she put me in the back of that section; again, it was just fine. There is a nice pool. There is a burn ban in effect as is true for most of southwest Texas I am sure. You will find horses and cows next door but not very many and not very smelly. Sites are spacious enough and have a little bit of grass in some areas and a few small trees. The owner has his own ranch somewhere north of there and brings down his own beef to sell in the office. We bought some to try after others we know and park residents raved about it. Interior roads were paved and sites were packed gravel. The lady running the office was very nice and friendly. I would stay here again and I would stay longer. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
