We stayed here for five months as workkampers. The managers are the nicest people and so helpful. The park is huge and you get double sites. There are 30 and 50 amp. There are goat weeds everywhere, but just keep your shoes on. They have entertainment thru the winter on Fridays. There's bingo on Sunday and Thursday. There's poker and pool. They have a hot tub and a pool also a bbq area. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice, pet-friendly park. Quiet, friendly staff and campers. The shower house is updated, modern and impeccably clean! There is a small stocked pond if you enjoy fishing. Great game room with some exercise equipment, very nice library and puzzle room, large and clean gathering room; outside there are shuffle board lanes, bochi ball and horseshoes. The pool area is quite nice with a hot tub, some furniture, a couple of grills, and a large fire pit area. The only reason I don't give this park a 10 is the pool is a bit cool to take a dip. Some sites have patios, some do not - no extra charge for a patio site. A few full-timers here, but most (other than construction crews) have started journeys north. This would be a great family gathering park. Plenty of room for kids to roam; plenty of space for everyone to gather and visit. If you want to head to Mexico, the park is only an hour from the International Bridge at Progresso. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Our first visit to this park and we enjoyed our stay with a lot of pluses and only a couple minuses. If you enjoy quiet days and evenings spent with friends and activities of your choice sponsored by the park, this park is for you and yours. It is located out in the country about 12-15 miles from Edinburg with sites (ours was 45' x 80') with some concrete patios but all sites grass with fhu's 30/50 amp service and pedestal placed so you can have your choice of east or west sky for outside activities. Showers, toilets and laundry with 10 washers and 8 dryers ($1.50 W- $1.25 D) all spotless and checked/cleaned several times daily by workers. During winter season they have activity directors that plan games, outings and live entertainment plus a chef that does the meals on select days. The normal board and card and bingo games are offered plus pool tables and horse shoes and they are planning to rebuild the shuffleboard courts this summer. Park has daily, weekly and monthly sites in the front area and a lease lot program for seasonal and long term folks behind the large club house-pool-hot tub area. Now having said all this there are a couple things you need to know. Floral Road off 281 west for 2 miles until Lazy Palm Drive is a county road that needs attention. It's hard surface but needs attention, i.e., rough. Also for dog people there are many stickers but the plan as we have heard is to burn em out this summer. To sum up we have looked at this park for a couple years, have finally stayed and will return when back in the RGV. We were on monthly - $360.00 Including electric for 50 amp service - $300.00 if you need 30 amp. Its a bargain IMO. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart, HEB, Costco, Sam's and every thing else you can think of including every cafe and restaurant you can name in in the valley. A whole lot of shopping and eating is on North 10th street in Edinburg and several good flea markets are in the area plus an easy drive to Nuevo Progreso, Tamps, Mexico.

Overall Rating:

This is a rural campground approx. 12 miles N. of Edinburg, Texas. Very quiet as it is 2 miles off of I-281. A star gazers dream. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Escorts to site. Each site comprises of 2 lots which is unusual for a RV Campground. The lots are not manicured so there are lots of burs which can be cleared up with a little effort if you are planning a lengthy stay. We had small trees on each side of the coach which provided morning and afternoon shade. There were 2 cement patios on our lot. One on each side of coach. The lots are spacious and our car hauler trailer and car could park beside the coach. Sites are drive-thru and you could park facing North or South with the services at the driver side. The park has a number of outdoor games such as horseshoes, shuffleboard and bocce ball. The pool has an 8 foot deep end and a shallow area. The pool pump was giving problems but the hot tub was operational. The cement bottom needed cosmetic work but was well maintained. There was a spacious area for sunning around the pool. The Club House was spacious with a kitchen and included a Pool Room, Library and Puzzle Room. Weekly signup sheets were posted for prepared menu Saturday Breakfast and Dinner @$. Plenty of daily activities in the Club House and a weekly entertainment at a $ cost each Friday night by outside artists. Our stay Nov/17 - Apr./18. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Motorhome.

We came on Jan. 5, 2018 and are staying till April. Facilities are freshly remodeled or in process. Showers and bathrooms just redone. Laundry has 10 machines each so no waiting. Clubhouse is newly redone with pool hall with ping pong, meeting space, card space, puzzle room, library, fitness area, and stage for entertainment venues. People are extremely friendly and courteous. There are outdoor activities and an active fishing pond. Sites are very large-double lot- with some concrete pads. We are having a very fun time. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a very quiet park, away from the hustle and bustle of the city parks. A small grocery store 2 miles away and big city shopping 15 miles away. Great for star gazing or quiet peaceful rest in the evenings. Many activities if you so choose.

Overall Rating:

We stayed under Coast-to-Coast Premier and the $ listed is for 50 amp service. Our site was very large with water, 50 amp electric & sewer. There was very little grass, mostly red sand making very difficult to keep the rig clean. Our leveling jacks just sank in so we moved a foot and used our jack pads which worked okay. There were two sewer connections at this site and one was damaged so it could not be covered leaving us with an open sewer connection. The leaky water faucet was annoying. The gravel roads were well maintained and easy to negotiate a 40 ft motorhome towing. The people managing the place are very welcoming and friendly. It's about 20 miles to the closest Walmart and most other businesses. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Motorhome.

Due to lack of rain, this campground has become a sand lot. 15 miles to Edinburg, 30 miles to the RGV. Our site was a pull-through with a concrete patio, which was nice. Hook-ups were close and we had sufficient water pressure. The showers were aged, but clean and roomy. We enjoyed our seven day stay, and would stay here again. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is extremely run down. The pool heater and hot tub heater didn't work the first 5 days then the bubbles didn't work in the hot tub. The area didn't have grass was mostly red dirt little burrs were all over that stuck to our feet and our dogs. The pond they said is stocked is nothing but a green swamp. The people were nice but few activities, cards mostly. It was a nightmare staying there; my RV was filthy inside and out due to the red blowing dirt. It is also away from most everything 15 miles to town. Never never again. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Motorhome.

The park has an area of mobile homes for those who return each winter as well as 30 and 50 amp pull-through spaces. RVs are not packed in (although they could be) and the facilities are kept in good condition. The people are the key here - marvelous, welcoming folks. It's 20 miles from "town", but that makes it quiet. Lots of activities if you want to participate. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 6 weeks. Management very helpful, activities were vast. Great library/pool and exercise equipment room with a great number of puzzles to past the time. Fantastic weekly breakfast (Saturdays), lunch (Wednesdays), Supper (Friday) at more than reasonable rates. Weekly entertainment. Park is pet friendly (leashed & clean up). A good number of full timers who are helpful with short stayers. Good information provided. Definitely planning on a return visit next year. Area is well supervised by local and state police and boarder patrol- at no time did we feel unsafe. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

About 10 miles away is a series of joined communities with museums, shopping, flea markets. About 50 miles is South Padrea Beach. About 25 miles is Mexico- you can drive across but most park and walk across. Two miles from park is a great market/convince store.

We have stayed here before, but will not come back anymore. Since the new owner took over the park 2 years ago a lot of the park has not been updated. The grass had not been cut. The sand burrs has overtaken the park. Our poor puppy got burrs all the time. The wash machines are old and rusty. They have been putting in cement patios, but they are not very usable. Case in point. If I wanted to use the patio at our site, then we could not hook up to sewer unless we had 30 feet of sewer hose. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Price is right and that is it and stayed from Nov to March, third year. Men's bathroom in club house is dirty and smells. Only one urinal (other has been broken for 3+ years), showers are old and looks bad. Cannot comment on women's, wife would not use it after just walking in. Pool area looks nice but it ends there. Pool and hot tub has mold, temps for both are tolerable but not real comfortable at best. Both pool and hot tub has cracking sidewalls and peeling paint. Most of the place did not get mowed until January making it look more like a pasture than a campground. Lots of burrs but that is a TX thing. Kitchen area in club house is not the cleanest, saw spiders and roaches but was told not to say anything and it will be taken care of soon. Water pressure is poor and it is on a well. Pond is nice, lots of birds. Do not report any faults to the park manager or you will be on her list. Will not be back. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here a month again this year. The monthly rate is very reasonable because it does not charge electrical. Manager is very friendly and helpful. All the residents with long term leases were super friendly. Played games almost every night. Breakfasts and lunches (once a week) were only $2 and wonderful. Entertainment on Fridays, usually around $5 and as good as anywhere in the valley. We bird and again got 30 species in the park and within a mile of campground. Little pond is full and cute. We did not fish but could have. All are pull through sites and very large. Got Wi-Fi and cell phone coverage at our site. If you can time it in February and enjoy their Frontier Days. Lots of games and fun. We will return again. Would have been a 10 if closer to town. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Motorhome.
