Very good for the money. That being said, it is like camping in a parking lot. Many very run down RVs in the lot. - Psushu
Dec 2016 - $16.00
Stayed here for a few months while I was preparing to retire. The sites are concrete and level and plenty of room for big rigs. The staff is friendly and do their best to always help. Decent grass area for pets, although we still need to train those few owners to pick up after their pets.
There was a previous review about some people being here way too long and I agree with that. There is a 90 day waiver that doesn't seem to be enforced, and there are some trailers that have collected what I would call "junk" around them making the area appear as "trailer trash."
The location is easily accessible from 190 although you have to go through one side security gate only to turn around and come back through another. I would give this location a 10 if it were in a better location such as near a lake or beach. - Techn0

The park has been completely remodeled in the last year. All spots are now pavement and plenty of room. The new section does not yet have picnic tables, grills or cable tv which they deduct in the nightly fee. All spaces in the new section are back in, no pull throughs. Most sites do not have trees to provide shade. All the pull throughs are in the older section which is also really nice and includes paved spots and cable tv which you pay a little more for. The dog area is at the far end of the campground so you see people not taking their dogs there to do their business (and not picking up after the dogs). Overall the rennovation is a great improvement and I think all sites now have 30/50 watt service. Feels very safe.
Some are permanent live ins. - RodandRaquel

We stayed on the Deer Park loop which has 28 campsites. Although there are full hookups, we only got 30-amp and water hookups. Several trailers were parked at FHU sites but no one was there the entire week we were there. The Nature in Lights Christmas lights display was going on and was very pretty to see. There is no WiFi. The lake water was very high and had recently flooded the area. The concrete pad was narrow and had sharp drop off at the edges. The trees were too close to the campsite and needed to have branches trimmed back. Security patrols the area regularly. - Melodycthomas
Aug 2018 - $25.00
It looks like a park trying to make a comeback, then we learned that is exactly the case after closing due to flooding in recent years. Maintenance was needed on many areas, saw 11 cars at maintenance but never saw one person out working in the park. The park could really use a maintenance team to come thru and do lots of little things. Overall nice place to stay, nice to not have to deal with driving motorhome onto base. Staff at desk very friendly. Gate open 24 hours. Park is clean despite being open to military and civilian. Good Mt. Bike trails and horse riding. Booms in the background tank fire, but not loud at all. Lots of full timers that have to move every 30 days, pretty slack on rules, cars and boats and trailers parked everywhere. Nice touch to have laundry, but only one. Good laundry in Belton if here longer. Close to town and base for whatever you need. - 7 on the road

There are three different campgrounds in this recreation area. This military park is huge and it sits on the shoreline of an equally huge Corp of Engineer lake. Just about every water sport and boating activity is supported at this facility. It is super family friendly because kid's playground equipment is plentiful and there are other "sport fields" on site. Fee based horseback riding is available, natures trails are abundant, and one can bike the place until you are exhausted. It is "pet friendly" in that two of the three CGs are in the woods. The three campgrounds are BLORA RV Park, Deer RV Park, and Cedar RV Park. If you have a "big" rig, as I do, then I would suggest Deer Park because it has 50 amp service and half of the sites are FHU. However, if you choose it and absolutely need satellite reception, I would suggest getting a site that is on the left side in order to avoid a tree blocking issue. With the exception of the tent only sites, the pads of each park are concrete. Almost every site in this huge recreational facility as a covered picnic table, fire ring, and a charcoal BBQ grill. I would estimate that about a third of the sites in all three CGs have a minor front to back leveling issue for longer rigs. Cedar Park has a designated tent only area. Deer RV Park has tent sites mixed with RV sites. Although, they were nice, none of the bath/restroom facilities in each CG are conveniently located in the middle of the campgrounds. I consider the lack of close by trash cans and bath houses a negative. Both of those are what I consider a "hike" to get to. This facility honors the America The Beautiful card. - RLM

Great Park! Family owned business and super nice folks. The owners gave good directions to the nearest grocery store. The park has all concrete pads plenty long and wide enough. Quite a few of the sites had sheds over their rigs but there are lots of trees that help with cooling in the summer. Quite a few military families there since it's near Fort Hood. The grounds were immaculate. The park backs up to a city park with trails and walking paths. The RV park visitors have access to this park via a gate code. Love this park and will stay there again if in this area. - GMS Lucy
Apr 2017 - $30.00
Owners very friendly, site was long enough for 40' mh and toad without unhooking. Sewer connection was lower than mh connection the way it should be. Although close to highway it was quiet. Would stay here again! - Discovery37
Oct 2016 - $35.00
Easy to find. We stayed in a pull through site. Paved roads and concrete sites. Easy hook-ups. Loved that it was gated so it felt completely safe. Office staff very helpful. The park it was backed-up to looked beautiful. We will definitely stay here again if ever in the Killeen, Belton, Copperas Cove area. - Gramom

Our site was on the waters edge with no sewer connection or trees. But it was a good view, site was fairly level and had a covered table and grill. Dump station on the way out. 15 min from downtown Killeen. Access roads were paved and smooth but I didn't see any signs pointing to the park. The street to the park is lined with very expensive houses, making me wonder if I was on the correct road. But google maps took me there with no problems. There is a sign asking you to check out. I normally don't stop when I leave but did this time. I had decided to leave a day early, but after checkout time and they refunded the cost of the last day because I had stopped. - Motorcyclekelly
Apr 2013 - $20.00
We really liked this park. The lake is very pretty, and most of the sites are right on the water. It's true there's no shade, and the showers are kind of far away. And we only saw 2 or 3 pull throughs. But the sites are level, and real easy to back into. And we liked the feeling of being in the country, but still near city amenities. We will definitely stay here again. - grammykay
Mar 2013 - $9.00
This is probably the most boring lake we have ever been to. Nothing to recommend about it. The RV sites are nice. Back-in and paved and fairly level. Nice covered table and grill area. Only problem the weather was awful. Very windy, cold and rainy so we could not enjoy them. The lavatories and showers were not well cared for. NONE of the stalls could lock! Simply because the installer of locks could not measure accurately and the parts did not line up. We will NOT camp here again. - User2209

WARNING: DO NOT TAKE UNION GROVE LANE. The park is on Union Grove Park Road, which is 1 mile past Union Grove Lane. If you accidentally take Union Grove Lane, there are low trees, and the only place where you can turn around is tight and full of trash. Union Grove COE is wonderful. When we were there, there were no RVs near us. We had a beautiful view of the lake. We saw deer and egrets and a hawk. It was very relaxing. We were in a long pull-thru which was very private. Fortunately, we have a bathroom in our RV, because the bathrooms in the campground were far from our campsite and very dirty. - mrpeepers
May 2018 - $12.00
Always have a great stay at this park. The only reason we didn't give it a higher rating is because the dump station is out of commission until the fall. We had to drive to Dana Peak to dump, but it was not that inconvenient. - GT and DK
May 2018 - $12.00
Nice COE park, especially at $12 a night using the senior discount pass. Our 50a and water worked fine as did the Verizon cell hotspot and rooftop dish, no trees. Our back in site backed up to the lake. We have been here several times and enjoy the peace and quiet. The only problem was the dump station was closed. Paved roads and sites with covered picnic table. - big greg

Wouldn't recommend. We stayed here very briefly as we were passing through and wanted to visit with some friends and relatives, and we didn't have a pleasant stay. There was no manager on hand and the camp did not have Wi-Fi as advertised. Overall it was a huge hassle, and not worth the price. Plenty of other much nicer parks in the area. - TexasRVing

Small, quiet park on Lake Belton. Not a lot to do outside of lake usage, and limited shade at the campsites. The sites are mostly pull thrus, with covered picnic tables at most of them. Very clean sites and restrooms. - Red Wolf

Great access to lake and all easy swimming entry. Can pull your boat right up to sites. - SDSaylor
Apr 2012 - $10.00
This was a good find for our needs as we were in the area to visit relatives getting medical care. We were right on the lake in a pull through. They do let you drain your gray water on the ground which is nice. The rate reflects the America the Beautiful Senior Pass. Water pressure and 50 amp voltage was very good. We would stay here again. It is a Corps of Engineers Park. You are close to Belton, Temple and not that far from Killeen and the Fort Hood Army Base so there are plenty of shopping opportunities. - zrxh14

Stayed here three weeks - NO issues at all ..The RV park is well ran and well maintained... it is Rustic - it's NEW ... It's quiet... it's gravel - there is NO WIFI ... GOOD: The power stayed right at 120VAC the entire time. Its Quiet - off the beaten trail but only about ¼ mile from a main road but at night you see a billion stars and hear virtually nothing. Park is easy to get in and out of. The bathroom and showers were clean and had individual air conditioner/heaters inside The owner is friendly without being over bearing. If you need something they help you - if you don't they leave you alone. Water pressure is strong. Sites are long enough to pull through and unhitch Washer and Dryer's work WHAT NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: Sites are rough gravel not kinda level NO WIFI. ATT is strong but T-MOBILE is weak - Ghostwriter66

The best campground I have been in so far. The owner is very nice and so is the host! It is kids and pet friendly. The park is peaceful and quiet, if you like morning walks there is a little trail to go on. Also there is friendly animal visitors around! Hope you enjoy your stay like we did!!! - JojoNavarro

Most of this park is devoted to long term residents. Very few available pull-thrus. This is a cash only park. Don't change your plans after paying as you will not receive a refund. - Rancher RVers

Very nice, helpful owner. Site was rural and quiet-felt quite safe. Appeared to be mainly long-term campers but campground very clean and well maintained. Cash only. Would camp there again. - Telman
Apr 2017 - $34.00
We purchased a new 5th Wheel so we wanted to stay close to the dealer. They are very nice and helpful here. The park is small and quiet and only a couple miles from a quaint little town with good places to eat. The sites are pull thrus with some back ins along the perimeter. We didn't take advantage of the dog park very often because it's mosquito season and we seemed to attract quite a few. We really like the area and would definitely consider coming back. - Pam-W

This is a work in progress. There's a lot of building going on. We chose a river view however it wasn't much of a view. Our site was level for the motorhome however there was no space around our site suitable for sitting outside or setting up a table for grilling. The area had no grassy lawn just weeds with ruts that you had to be careful to miss stepping in. The path to the river was obstructed by construction so you had to walk through weeds to get to it. There are trains and road noise at night. The highlight was the free internet that was strong and fast. - Tony Connie and Rusty

This is a new park on the Lampasas River. There are military discounts but currently do not appear to have any other discounts. While park areas are still being worked on and manicured once everything gets planted and set up it should be one of the best in the area. Reservations can be made online. - mikel
