M-F stay. Quick and friendly check in. Easy beach access. 57 has a tricky sewer connection for a lower riding rig. We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for a week. Direct access to the beach, no pool. Nice store. Very friendly staff. We stayed on 55. Concrete pad nice size, grassy area in back, full hookups. Resort on the side. You cannot walk on the dunes, so get a spot closer to store. There is a boardwalk to access the beach easier. We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is our go-to RV park when we go to Galveston. It is clean, friendly and right next to the beach. It is only a short distance to Seawall Blvd., the location of many shops and restaurants. We paid a $10 premium over a $59 summer rate for a pull through site, the only one available, since we were there on a holiday weekend. The restrooms and showers are clean and in good condition. We camped in a mini-Class C without a towed vehicle. We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

For the best fried shirmp and other seafood in the area, go to the Stingaree Restaurant in Crystal Beach. Take the Bolivar ferry and follow the highway for a bit over 13 miles and take a left on N. Stingaree Drive. For a more upscale meal, try the Blvd. Restaurant on Seawall Blvd.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice place on the island. There are nice pull thru spots with plenty of room for our 38 ft and the tow vehicle. People are very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed hearing the beach sounds and walking along the beach each day. We were able to take our dogs on the beach, which is a plus for us and there are plenty of bags available for those who :forget" to carry and plenty of trash receptacles. The Park IS NOT pet friendly for the dogs however. If there is grass then there are horrid stickers. Sadly we were not warned ahead of time and I took both dogs into a side area and then spent 15 minutes pulling over 2 dozen stickers out of their paws. This was painful for both and them. After that we stayed on the paved surfaces but they are not used to using the bathroom on pavement so this was a problem the whole time. Staying on pavement was not a guarantee of no stickers, just less of a chance. AT least when we were on the beach, there were no stickers and this became the 'go to' spot for bathroom. We would have had a great time if not for this one problem for our babies. We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here on a trip 7 yrs ago & enjoyed it a bunch, so we booked here for our family vacation this year. Right on the beach, inexpensive, clean & a good friendly staff. If there's anything negative to say, it would be slow internet, but as a family on vacation, we didn't use it much anyway. Our next trip to Galveston will absolutely include staying at this park! We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a gem of a municipal park, reasonably priced considering it is sitting right on the beach. Check-in was friendly and easy, what would be expected at a busy tourist park. The roads are paved and easy to navigate, and the sites are level concrete pads, though they are tightly packed together. Hook-ups were centrally located on the sites, appeared to be fairly new, and all worked as expected. The site includes a patio, picnic table, and charcoal grill, but no fire pit.

Amenities at the park are limited and basic, there is a small, clean laundry, and the shower house was basic but clean. They also have a small store which carries mostly souvenirs. The park's real attraction is the beach, which is just over a sand dune and accessed by a walkway. A walk along the beach, dipping your toes into the warm gulf waters is a must. We would love to return to this park again. We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The park is operated by the Park Board of Trustees of the City of Galveston. Our site overlooked the ocean with a fabulous view out the back window; too bad the sites aren't set up to pull in instead of backing in. Our site was a very level concrete pad with a patio and picnic table. Verizon works great as does the WiFi, no cable but there are a lot of over the air channels. The bathrooms are clean, but a little old. Washer $1.00 and Dryer: $.75 each. There is a great covered play area for the kiddos and nice boardwalk to the beach. The park is surrounded by a natural pond and there are tons of water fowl. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is an amazing campground. It is small so I imagine it fills up during the season. It is directly on the dunes of the Gulf of Mexico. The campsites position your camper so your front door faces nearly due east to take full advantage of the beautiful sunrises. The campground is very well maintained and had good water pressure. The only caveat is the sand spurs. They're horrible so stay off the grass if possible. If you're traveling with pets, walk theme along the sidewalk, across the boardwalk to the beach. Ours collected plenty of spurs before we realized they were going to be a problem. Other than that, we loved this camproud due to its location and cleanliness. We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here 2 years in a row and love it. Great location. Not right in the middle of hub bub by still close enough. Park is clean and so close to the beach. Only thing we wish it had had cable and better wi-fi. We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

I agree with all the good comments about this park, especially the access to a great beach, where dogs are also welcome. Weather was spectacular on an early May weekend. The park's air conditioned laundry room was very handy and inexpensive, with three new-looking washers and two dryers. The few negatives were lots of sand spurs in the grass and a population of "critters" - rabbits and large black birds near or in the campsites, plus a few rats (not mice) spotted in the sand dunes behind our row of RVs. We saw traps set out by the dune fence, so the park management may be seeking to address that problem. We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a great park sandwiched between the beach and a large pond. Our site was literally 100 feet from the surf, with only a narrow low dune between the park and the beach. All sites have some view of the Gulf. It was great falling to sleep to the sound of the surf in the background. The park is run by the Parks Board of the City of Galveston and is very well maintained and secure. About half the sites are back in (some immediately adjacent to the dune) and the others are pull though. Sites are concrete with picnic tables also on a concrete pad. Grass areas separate the sites, which are reasonably well spaced. No shade, however. The laundry was under renovation while we were there, so I can't rate that. Didn't use the other facilities. The park is on the far south end of the main beach area of Galveston, so attractions are a bit of a drive. On the other hand, traffic and crowds are much lighter, which we preferred. If you want a beachfront park, this is your best and only choice. We camped at Dellanera RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The free ferry from Galveston across the Houston Ship Channel to the Bolivar Peninsula is a nice 25 minute voyage. The Bolivar Peninsula has world class birding sites, such as High Island and the Bolivar Flats.
