This park serves long term stays and is excellent at providing a safe, clean and well kept community. Sites are a little close but was not a problem during our 3 month stay. The dog park deserves a word of caution. Several dogs using the space seemed to always be in the mix when disturbances broke out. We chose not to use the dog park for this reason. All utilities were good, trash service was fine and the office staff was always helpful. Location is good for Fort Worth and VA hospital. Shopping is 8 miles away. Getting a space is a little difficult but worth the effort. - Beech35p
Jan 2018 - $45.00
Feel safe and it's clean and quiet, a real community feel. Staff are friendly and approachable. The sites are concrete pads, spacious and not on top of your neighbor. Utilities are included with their rates which are electric, water, sewer, trash, and cable tv. Dog park is nice and clean, pet waste station is provided in the park. Roads are concrete and asphalt. Current amenities are small laundry facility with lounge area, showers, restrooms, dog park, and picnic pavilion. They are in the process of expanding on the laundry room and adding a recreation hall. - Chrissy Keeney

Bear Creek is a very nice COE park. Sites 1 through 12 are very shaded near the front gate. (There are a few big branches that should be cut, but that's just a opinion.) The rest of the sites are near the lake. Great park and shout out to the park host. He was very helpful and great to deal with. The park is well maintained, clean and all sites are big. Some might not be best for big rigs, but the park host knows what fits. Not a lot of 50 amp sites. Rating 9 of a 10 just because there was a site that was a bit cluttered and just gave the area a junk feel. The occupants apparently work camp there. They were quiet and the 7 kids were well behaved and quiet. - WickedOne
May 2017 - $28.00
Pleasant COE campground near Fort Worth. Just passing though, so didn't have time to do much exploring. Nice, tree shaded sites, some pull through. One caution though - the park map suggests that Sites 1-18 are lakeshore. They may be close to the lake, but a dense forest separates that part of the campground from the lake. So, if you want to see the lake from your site, choose the other part of the campground. - jwppagosa

Bear Creek Campground is on Benbrook Lake just southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. Most sites 30A & water. A few 50A & water sites. Two full hookups sites, but not available to public. Many old live oak trees. Several sites have low hanging limbs, caution advised for high profile RV's. Most sites spacious. Best #33 with unobstructed lake view. #22 has great afternoon shade, but utilities are on wrong side. One modern restroom/bathhouse bear front of park , the others are old and tired. Park is adjacent to a remote control airplane airfield, so expect noise on Saturday and Friday afternoon. - drfife

We stayed in site #72 for 2 nights to off load and prep to store the 5er for the winter in Ft. Worth. What a spot there was us and one other spot at the end of a cul-de-sac. By the lake, great view of the lake. Our pull thru spot easy in and out, dump station on the way out easy as well, has access to 2 sides so 2 can dump at the same time. Be aware the middle of Sept. we had out outside lights on and were overwhelmed with Gnats when we opened the door. We spent that night and the next swatting gnats. - davidpas548

We stayed at site#46. Nice view of lake. Plenty of enough room for out trailer and parked 3 vehicles. Staff was very friendly. Bathrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper. - NitaC
Mar 2018 - $13.00
We always spend a few days here when traveling through Dallas / Fort Worth. There is plenty to do being located so close to the city but we love the serenity of the lake. Most spots are large enough for big rigs with 30/50A service. We have always enjoyed the Camp Hosts here and the facilities are well kept. - Calibrateguy

Although I had to put an amount, we did not stay here. We drove through the park which we really liked the looks of. I called the office the next morning for rates and see about being put on a very long waiting list. The lady informed me our rv would have to be 10 years old or newer to stay here and she would check our title to make sure it was. Nowhere on the website does it say anything about a year model policy! Very disappointing since our rv is in better shape than several that are long term there already. Unfortunately we had to pick another rv park that is about 15 miles from where we need to be located. - Pamela D from Ark

First of all, this is a trailer park, not a campground. If I had extended my awning it may have touched the camper next to me. Which means when I walked out of my door I had to take care not to trip over their sewer hose. The layout is terrible. Parts of the campground (including the office) are not accessible from other parts, without getting out on the road and looping around. Secondly, although they advertise WiFi, and give you a piece of paper with a network name and password... the password doesn't work. I asked my neighbor who had been there a few months, and he told me he had never gotten it to work. Thankfully that AT&T signal was sufficient for a hotspot connection. Lastly, I will say the lady at the desk was nice, and did allow us to stay an hour past the normal noon checkout so we could go to church. They do have cable television hookup, which worked well. I would also have to say that given the quantity, quality, and density of the trailers crammed into this place, it is fairly well maintained and clean. Although I would not rule it out, we would seek other options if we found ourselves in this vicinity in need of a place to overnight. - GoHorns!
Mar 2018 - $40.00
Nice park in the front. Older and long term campers in back. Pool looked very nice but to cold to get in. We stayed 2 months visiting family. WiFi was good most of time. We paid $510.00 month plus electric. Video store connected to office, which nobody is usually in, go to video side. Wednesday is buy one get one free. Did see a problem with people not picking up dog poo. No camp host. No one to keep an eye on things. - milodog

Great location, sites are large. Overnighters use pull-thrus. Easy hook up. Cable & WiFi. Good water pressure. People are very courteous. Very quiet. RV supplies on site. Staying at least two months. $400.00 per month plus electric Highly recommend. - John_vaught2000

Well, it's a stretch to call this a "ranch", but I'm a Yankee, so what do I know? :-) But it's a nice little RV park in a charming and rapidly growing town. A couple of quirks: they use marine power pedestals, which are 50 Amp only, but they supply a free loaner converter to 30 Amps. Also I understand they only have wired internet, though I used my own Verizon Jetpack. The park abuts an RV repair service and an excellent RV parts & supply store, both run by the same family. I found everyone friendly and helpful. - Doncooke
Jun 2016 - $32.00
Not a "ranch"! Needs TLC! Very little shade. You check in at RV center once you enter campground on a back road - confusing! Mostly long term residents. Gravel site. WiFi was by Ethernet and was amazing! So fast! RV center caters to 5th wheels and pull-behinds. Store is well stocked. - Retired FL CSM

Relatively new park with pull through sites. All gravel, dirt, & grass. Looks to be a new park still under construction with sites and utilities in. It has potential when it is landscaped & more gravel added. Grounds were wet and muddy. There is a field to the east with young Bison that came to the fence. Web site says no units over 1o years w/o approval, and the two there where obviously over 10 years old. OK for over night if you need to stop. - Edd505

Beautiful fall colors! We will be back. Our site required some effort to level, but that's OK. Had plenty of TV signal but AT&T cell signal was very weak. Lots of hiking trails, and the lake is nice, although we didn't catch any fish. Didn't see any deer but we had a red fox walk thru our site. - GoHorns!
Apr 2018 - $30.00
We stayed here for several days and had a great visit. Beautiful location and a nice place for kids. Our site was private although not very level and the staff was supper friendly. Some sites are at awkward angles making backing in a challenge. The nearest grocery store is Albertson's, 15 miles away, so be sure to pack what you need. - clecogirl
Oct 2017 - $28.00
We had a fantastic time at Cleburne State Park. Our site was huge, near the lake and the view was fantastic. Could have spent a week there but sadly we were only there for the weekend. We were close to the public showers and they very clean and well maintained. There is a nice park for the kids, a large meeting room that is available to rent for large groups. And they have covered shelters to rent. Our campsite was well shaded as it looks like most of them are. Not all sites back up to the lake. We enjoyed a gorgeous sunset and sunrise. Staff was supper friendly probably the most friendly we have encountered at a state park. Best part it is only about 15 miles from our house. I'm honestly not sure of the cost of our site. - True Texas

Mar 2017 - $39.00
Great stay! We stayed a week and one day. They have a weekly rate. Cable TV was good. Internet not so good. Most of this park is permanent residents. Some of the mobile homes are from the 1960's. But, everything was very neat and clean. The roads are a little bumpy. No problem with our 40 foot diesel pusher. Site was gravel. Picnic table, pull thru and extra parking. Very shady in some parts. The personnel working were great - friendly and helpful. There was a storm one night with a few limbs blown down. They had it all cleaned up early the next morning. Very convenient to Fort Worth. Our daughter lives in the TCU area, and we were only 20 minutes from her. Off of I 35 W South. We will definitely stay here again. - User1574
Apr 2016 - $39.00
We stayed for 2 months. The location is good but the park needs so much work. The inner roads are so bad and have been patched so many times. The sites have been patched and so uneven, it takes a lot to level your rig. The office staff are very friendly. We will stay here again because it is close to our family. Sure wish they would make some improvements. - milodog
Apr 2016 - $39.00
Entering into park I was very concerned from the appearance. The roads are asphalt, patched with asphalt, and the patches were patched. The office staff was very nice. Our site #93 was very close to neighbors and not very level at all. The cable TV did not work well at all and, as seems to be common at most parks, the WiFi was slow. The Verizon data connection was strong and much faster.
We were visiting local friends and, due to the campground appearance, were too embarrassed to invite them over to see our brand new travel trailer.
I think there are probably better parks to stay at nearby so we probably will not stay here again. - Tewickh

Extremely large family friendly resort that isn't very pet friendly. I was disappointed to find they don't have a dedicated pet walk area or enclosed dog run. The area noted on their map is an unkempt field of knee high grass that backs up to woods. Other than that, you have the small areas between sites. There are quite a few long term residents and on-site construction workers (who live in trailers that don't meet park guidelines). Also beware that apparently there is a pet policy in the paperwork that is not disclosed on their web page. Stray cats being fed, constantly overflowing dumpsters and off leash pets on the grounds and in the buildings was the last straw. That was my first and last stay at this "resort". - TrvlnRN
Mar 2018 - $70.00
We have site 42. Don't use this one. One inch of rain and you are flooded, and it stays around when every one else is dry. They advertise a pool; it is not usable - like 55 degrees, they advertise a water park. Suppose to be open on Saturdays - not open. They did not want to heat the pools. Said they would wait for the sun to warm them . Called Jellystone twice and no one has responded, - jim sanders
Mar 2018 - $85.00
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this park. There were lots of activities for the kids, and more so than the usual for a Jellystone park. The large water park was closed, so we were only able to use the small park. My kids (8,10,12) did not enjoy it. They said the slides did not have enough water in them so you got stuck all the way down. I noticed the life guards didn't roam around and just stayed right next to the pool, even though there were two of them. Kids running and breaking rules by the slides were not noticed. We only used the water park one day of our 5 day stay (that's how little my kids liked it). The employees were courteous, and we didn't have any problems. What made the stay less pleasant was the large amount of dust generated by all of the golf carts and the firetruck driving around. We were right next to the dust road by the interior pool and it was really bad. It rained one night and we were stuck with huge puddles by our space. The park is huge though and there was much to redeem our experience. Even though the park is situated next to the highway it just didn't bother us. If you are looking for calm and peaceful, this isn't the place. This is where you bring your kids and dogs and save money on a family vacation. - davis0924
