If you are a fisherman and looking for a woodsy place with lots of space and room between sites, this is it. All spaces are 30 AMP back-in. Some have sewer hook up, some do not. There's no convenience store. Lakeside sites are all taken by long term residents. There's an onsite church and the gaurd station at the gate sells ice. The clubhouse has breakfasts and taco nights. The closest town for shopping is Quinlan, 20 minutes away. - Mnolasco

We joined Thousand Trails at this preserve in the 80's. Our two boys spent many wonderful carefree days here while growing up. We were on site several years and had to abide by strict rules that no longer seem to matter. I doubt there are many more than 30 sites available to those of us passing through. The rest are either taken up by on siters (who have the best ones) or the electric does not work. Those where the electric does work is questionable. It disturbs us greatly to see what has happened to what was and could be a beautiful resort. I don't think the staff there is to blame as much as corporate for not allocating the funds necessary. We will not stay here again. - PRG
Sep 2018 - $1.00
First - most staff are friendly. One staff member does not know the difference between the definitions of ATTACHED and WRAPPED. It is ok to wrap your garbage on the tree, but you cannot wrap your led lights around the tree. Paper states NOT ATTACHED. Family and Adult pools clean. Cons - Many sites closed due to the lack of maintaining the electrical infrastructure. When temps are in the 90's, sites are closed to try and keep A/C voltage in the range 105 Vac. Yes 105 is good, in their opinion. Sites are not cleaned and are in GREAT need of repair. Trees are not trimmed especially over the campers. There are too many trees - 1 in 5 trees could be removed and you would not notice. - Gatorcq

This is an extended stay/long term stay park only. The park has new owners that have plans to expand. It's an adult's only, 55+ park, with less than 20 sites in the park. The free laundry is nice. Direct TV is available for additional charge. Cell service is non existent. We used wifi calling. The wifi is free and is capable of streaming so we watch a lot of Netflix and Amazon Video. The park is gated so the traffic in the park is limited to registered guests only. It's a good value for the price. 8 miles from Mineola for groceries. There is traffic noise from Highway 69 that runs in front of the park. - Phaeton2
Aug 2018 - $25.00
Wifi doesn't work, laundry room has no air and 2 working machines. Grounds are not kept up. Under new management. I left along with 2 other RVs and will never go back. - Vicki vogel
Dec 2017 - $1.00
My wife and I stopped by and looked at this park trying to find a full time place for us to stay. The park was fairly nice except for lot #11 which had a lot of junk around the RV and even an old couch in the front yard covered with a blue tarp. Their website says they provide wifi but we spoke to some residents there who said the WiFi doesn't work most of the time and they've reported it to the owners and they won't fix it. The rates seemed to be a little high for the location and amenities provided. Just thought people should know soon to the next one. - rangerfan

Nov 2018 - $32.00
We planned our trip to Canton to experience Trade Days weekend. The owner was very helpful in planning our stay from our first call months earlier. We arrived just prior to a dangerous storm that passed through the area. The owner made sure we knew where her storm shelter was located and told us she would advise if conditions warranted evacuation. Through the storm, we saw 2 fellow RVers pull in and watched the owners out in heavy rain, thunder and lightning, trying to get them parked. Each time we returned to the park, owners were there to make sure we were comfortable. When we left, it was like leaving family! - BaseballFans
Nov 2018 - $22.00
We got reservations early because of it being a Trade Days weekend, manager was super helpful. We rolled in during a thunderstorm but the owners were out in it, helping us and another RVer get into our spots. The rest of the time went great, perfect weather. The park is well maintained and laid out well. They have added a few more sites and have just a little work to have them in good shape. Good wifi, a dog park, nice restrooms/showers with a laundry room. The road noise from Interstate 20 was the only drawback but we ran a small electric heater with the cool temps and barely heard the big rigs. Received a text message from the owners to make sure we arrived home safe and to thank us for staying. Hope to make this a annual trip to Canton Trade Days and we will stay at Wagon Train again. - Andrew65
Oct 2018 - $33.00
We have been guests here at Wagon Train since October 2018. From the very start the owners have been super friendly, helpful and keep us informed of everything going on in the park. We full time in our motor home and looked at several places in the Canton/Athens area before deciding on Wagon Train. This is, by far, the cleanest and well kept park we found. Even though it is right on I-20, the traffic noise is minimal. The rates are reasonable, the laundry facilities clean and well kept and everyone we have met has been super nice. Whether you need to stay for one day or need a full time resting spot, Wagon Train is worth a look. - Mark and J9

Nov 2012 - $20.00
Cable and Air TV OK, no WI-FI. My 2012 Acer could not get connectivity at sites 3 and 5 next to motel, or 13 in the center. Wi-Fi OK in office. Bath house needs cleaning and maintenance. Urinal would not flush, paper and dead cockroaches on the floor and the hot water was barely lukewarm. Lock on Ladies Bathroom was broken. Only 3 sites were taken. We will not stay here again. - rossby
Oct 2011 - $23.00
We came for the flea market and finding a place to stay was hard, Best Western had sites available. This place is definitely a last choice place, it is a stripe of sites behind the hotel. The site pads are asphalt and although ours was level it was old, not in great shape. There is grass (more like weeds) next to the site and a very warped table. The sites are wide and they do have some long one for big rigs. The free Wi-Fi works well. Overall the RV park need a lot of tender loving care, but the reasonable rate makes it good for an over night stay. - hapicamper
Dec 2010 - $22.00
This is a great bargain at $21 plus tax! The restrooms and showers were very clean and spacious. I have excellent Wi-Fi from the hotel at lot 2. They warn you ahead of time but select a back in on sites 1 through 7 for good WI. There is no complementary breakfast now. The park lanes are narrow but it is not a huge problem unless you are a big dog towing. The pull through sites are 60 feet plus. We stayed here in Motor home towing a Saturn which we used to go to the Trade Days goat rope. There are only 4 campers in this park tonight. We came here after turning down Mills Creek because they wanted to sock us with a $5 fee for Wi-Fi. No way Jose! The entrance is in a very busy area. Take the wide concrete path between the Shell and Chevron stations. There is a RV sign further south but it is unknown where this leads. - rossby

Jul 2018 - $30.00
The park has recently put in concrete pads and roads throughout. Very nice! They have lots of scheduled kids activities and on the weekend. We went during their "summer rates". There isn't a lot of shade at this park. The back in sites under the tree line are best if you want shade. There are quite a few pull thrus but the trees around them aren't very big and they do not allow tents. You choose your site when you make a reservation. Double check your request. We asked for two sites next to each other but when we checked in they had separated us. When we made reservations there weren't any sites along the tree line but when we checked in there were plenty, however none side by side. We had a site separating our two campers but no one ever showed up between us. I question their reservation system. Overall a great park and close to Dallas for a weekend getaway. We will definitely look forward to going again. A couple of improvements they could make are new picnic tables - they are very weathered and warped, and mowing was needed. - CIndy Davis
Jun 2018 - $44.00
The campground is very nicely landscaped with trees at most every site. Brand new extra-wide concrete roadways. Level concrete site pads and patio spaces. Sites are equipped with a white, lighted utilities pedestal with a clear marking of each site number. The utilities are in the perfect spot for our rig with good water pressure, clean power. The maintenance crew was mowing/trimming when we arrived. Pool at the office was clean and the area surrounding it was well maintained. Plenty of mowed "green space" with lakes and ponds to walk your pets. When in East Texas we will stay here again. - SteveDahl
Oct 2017 - $40.00
First let me state that I stayed in a "standard" pull thru site. Having walked thru the campground, I would recommend trying the "premium" sites as they are significantly more appealing. Had I known there were better sites available I would have chosen to pay the extra $10 to have a nicer site, but the office never mentioned it and I didn't do enough homework to know. Despite the small number of campers that night, the office placed me between two other campers (I never understand why campgrounds don't spread people out to maximize their camper's privacy and comfort). The sites are relatively close together and there is ample room for big rigs and tow cars.
The electrical and water worked fine. The sewer connection was cross threaded and unusable. The cable was like watching TV in a snow storm: useless. The park in general could use some sprucing up: trash laying around, trees needed trimming, pot holes in the roads.
It's amazing since when you drive up it looks like a first class resort but when you hit the "standard" site area, it leaves a lot to be desired. Better maintained, lower price options exist 30 miles either way down I-20, I'd recommend looking at those campgrounds or paying up to stay in the premium sites. - Jacarl

Ok what we stayed in was what they call the overflow. Not the full hookup RV park. It was a little difficult to find a 30 amp but we did without too much trouble. I suggest getting there on Thurs to get the best site. We were very close to the next site but most of our time was spent on the grounds shopping. We will definitely use this again if the full hookup is not avaialbe. Was not perfect by any means but no worse than we expected. Loved the convenience of just leaving our RV and walking over to shop, just a few feet from the site. You can shop go back and rest if you get tired and then go back. - True Texas
May 2013 - $25.00
For what it is--camping on a parking lot--it's great for shoppers at Canton's world-famous First Monday Trade Days. Many spots back up to a creek (the City of Canton should consider spending a bit of money cleaning out the creek for visitors viewing) and it's an asphalt parking lot, but water and electricity are included. You can't get any closer to all the shopping at First Monday Trade Days than this location, but they don't accept advance reservations. It's first-come/first-served. - Robert Shiflet
Dec 2011 - $25.00
It's a parking lot. Never again will we stay here! This place is for packing them in as tight as possible. - chief-rick

Lewis First Monday RV Park has three RV parking areas on the First Monday Trade Days grounds. There is one on the east side of the creek and a second on the west side of the creek. RV parking is on the perimeter of the parking lots for First Monday Trade Days shoppers. The lots are asphalt. The sites have 30 amp electric. There are several connections on each post, so may have to have a long electric cord. Water facets are shared. Some sites have sewer. The sites on the east side of the creek are mostly level. The west side has some level sites and some that are not very level. When it rains a lot, the creek sometimes rises into the RV park/parking lot. We have always stayed in the first two lots, but this time we went up the hill to the third area because rain was in the forecast. Only RVs park there, no shoppers. It is asphalt with electric, water and sewer. The sites are level. There are twelve 50 amp sites in addition to the 30 amp sites. It is rather close quarters with RVs facing each other. The sites are at a 90 degree angle making it a little harder to back in, but large RVs do park there. We have a (40' with 4 slides). There are about 50 sites at each location. There is no host, restrooms or showers. Payment can be made at the Dixie House or someone will come by for payment. They only take cash or check. You are given a plastic ribbon to hang on your RV showing you have paid. They also give you a parking pass to hang in your tow vehicle so you can come and go onto the First Monday Trade Days grounds when you want. They take no reservations, first come/first served. They are probably only open each month during First Monday Trade Days, not sure about that. There are a lot more RV sites on the First Monday grounds, but I don't know anything about them. - Travelin Rose

At first glance I didn't like the park. Yet the park won me over by the friendliness of the staff and the people staying at the park. Asphalt roads, good spacing between RVs. Most people are permanent or just visit on weekends. Owners are very friendly and willing to help. Overall the park does need TLC but would stay again. - Caseysplace
