Spent a couple of nights here to rest. Great city park. Cleaning up after major flooding so a lot of sites were not available. View of the lake, swimming area, playground, pull-through sites. Great place with tons of things to do and see in the area. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

Site #6 is not terribly level, luckily it was the front wheels on the motorhome that were slightly off the ground when level. For as much as they are charging the sites could at least be level. This is a nice campground, but as a public park, they act like they are a private 5 Star resort. Had to have campfire smoke wafting into our motorhome each weekend from weekenders. The pad asphalt was breaking down. Long stretch to utilities. Good thing was seeing the lake, but was the so-so cell phone service for both Verizon and AT&T. We were visiting relatives in Bedford, this was the closest park to them. Having a gate code made is easy for us to return late at night. During the week it is really enjoyable, but floods with weekenders on Friday. When arriving make sure you come off of 121 or 114 onto TEXAN TRAIL, up to Northwest, left turn onto Northwest, then right turn on Dooley to the park. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

Very nice park located in an urban setting. About 30 mins from Dallas, Plano, or Fort Worth. Concrete pad, paved interior roads. Some sites have a slight slope either at the back or front. Ours had it both back and front but was still long enough for us to level our 39' Motorhome. Park is very clean and well taken care off, and gated after dark. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again if in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The little town of Grapevine is beautiful. Spend time on Main Street. Lots of wine tasting shops, breweries, shops, cafes, and restaurants. If taking trips to Dallas-Fort Worth add about 20 mins to whatever your GPS says as traffic is heavy, especially during rush hour times.

We stayed at the Vineyards RV park to be close to family during our visit. I agree with most of the prior reviews. Great location on the lake, most sites are specious, a few are closer to others. The park slopes to the lake but our site and it appeared most sites are level. Sites are concrete, roads are all paved. Picnic table, fire ring and barbecue at each site. The small store had a few items that would save the trip to the supermarket. Laundry was clean and economical $1.50/$1.75) but there were only 3 machines. That could be a problem on everyone's laundry day. The negatives for us were a tight check in area, no place to disconnect a tow vehicle and the wifi was marginal. I used the empty parking area by the lake to connect the tow when we left, the other option may have been by the golf car rentals. The camp hosts were great. We enjoyed meeting others at the coffee and donuts on Sunday morning. This ranks among the best parks we have stayed in during our full time RV experience. When we return the the area, we will be staying here. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

The Sixth Floor Museum and the George W Bush Library are about 30 mins away. The Stockyards in Ft Worth are about the same too. Rodeo every Friday and Saturday at the Stockyards. Grapevine has a quaint Main Street. Southlake has mega shopping options.

This park is flooded annually. We visit once or twice a year and have had more reservations canceled than not (because of the flooding). The city continually makes improvements and always quickly cleans up after each flood. Despite the flooding, the park is always beautiful and well maintained. They have recently begun installing new pedestals that will allow them to open faster after each flood. They have at least 9 camp host couples, but I'm not sure what they do other than run the office and the store. (Perhaps that is all that is expected of them. If so, I want one of those jobs!) In the past, they cleaned the park and picked up the trash. On our last visit, we learned that the trash is no longer picked up - you have to take it to the dumpster yourself. All of the maintenance and cleanup seems to be done by the city of Grapevine employees. The sites will show booked for months in advance, but either the person doesn't show up, or it's a phantom reservation to hold sites. They also require you to pay in full, in advance, at the time of booking. This is fine, but with most of the park being occupied by long-term visitors, I question if this policy is applied to them. All in all, it's the best option in the DFW area, but it is extremely difficult to book a short-term stay because of their (likely) inconsistently applied policies. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

I don't give out a 10 lightly! This is an OUTSTANDING city run RV Park. They even do a clean up of each site after you leave and before the next user arrives. Everything I saw indicated a well run operation. The only negative comment will be the fact that it is near DFW and you will hear jet traffic going in and out at a steady pace. If you are in a well insulated RV it isn't that bad but you can hear it a bit. We slept well. Personally, as a retired air traffic controller, it was fun to watch. Sites were reasonably spaced but not really that close either. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

OK, my review is specific to the site we had. It could be so different for another site. We had what they call a Gold site. If you want to kick back in an extraordinary place for a bit, "go for the gold." Our site 83 was level cement with a huge patio, grass, wood deck with a bench overlooking the lake, picnic table and fire ring with tons of room for guest vehicles. If you can spring for it just once, in my opinion, it is so worth it to get a Gold site. In general, good WiFi and cable. Extras like free donuts and coffee on Sunday morning, wine tasting. Sandy swim beach with lounge chairs. Kids playground. Lots of ducks, geese, grackles, Blue Heron, White Egrets. One negative: 2 laundry rooms for a huge park. In one there was only 1 out-of-order washing machine and the other had 3 that worked fine. NO air conditioning in laundry! Our site had no shade, so might not enjoy in the middle of summer. No pool. We camped at The Vineyards in a Fifth Wheel.

What a great park! Wife and I stayed here for 10 days while visiting family in the area. This used to be a Corps of Engineers (COE) park. The City of Grapevine is now leasing the park from the COE and is investing in making this a real draw for the city. As with other COE parks, the sites are spacious. Asphalt roads and concrete pads on the sites. Utilities are modern and work well. Every site has a fire ring and picnic table. Most of the picnic tables have shade covers. Some sites are in the open and some are in the shade. Staff is very helpful when selecting a site. Some sites are right on the lake. There is a sandy beach with lounge chairs. Staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful. They do a great job of keeping the place spotless. Three issues (and the reason it didn't get a perfect score): 1. WIFI is typical - it is unuseable when the park is full. We were told that it is being upgraded. Fiber has been installed to the entrance, but needs to be connected to the Wireless Access Points. 2. There is no enclosed dog park. They have a peninsula called Puppy Point where dogs can be run off leash, but there is no enclosed area. 3. Laundry was clean and prices reasonable. Only problem is there are only 3 washers and 3 dryers. For a park this size, more machines would be helpful. Anyway.....we think this park is great. We highly recommend it and we will definitely return when we are in the area. Book early...it fills up quick! We camped at The Vineyards in a Fifth Wheel.

The entire city of Grapevine is spotless including this wonderful Rv park run and owned by the city. Property is so beautiful, concrete sites, trimmed grass and landscaping, clean beach and shoreline. Staff wonderful. We were here July, so hot, stayed in Coach. No shade on our deluxe site #12 on the waterfront. Strong WiFi, electricity and water pressure. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Grapevine is a thriving historic town, much larger than I ever imagined. With over 200 restaurants and numerous activities taking place every week. The Texas freeways and roads make it a challenge to get here. Avoid rush hour as DFW airport and Ft Worth play into the traffic challenge. The park is around a lake. You have lake views from just about everywhere. I've never been to a park laid out in this fashion. Fabulous!

We spent a night while visiting family in the area. Wish we had more time - this park is great. From check in to exit, these folks have it figured out. The campground was absolutely spotless, pads were concrete (and level) and the utilities were solid. On our site the trees made things a bit tight getting into but the trees also added to the overall appeal of the campground. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.

We were in site 22 which was somewhat unlevel side to side and front to back. It was a side of the road pull-through, and it had a nice view of the marina. It also had a nice fire pit and covered picnic table. We were able to receive HD sat. There are great views from many sites in the campground. They suggest, and it helps, to park away and downhill from the services to get the most level area on this site. We camped at The Vineyards in a Motorhome.
