This is my 2nd stay. This is a city park that is very easy to get to from I-10 and staff that is very accommodating and courteous. The park is along side a river and is open for fishing (have a state license) and very spacious RV spots; all are pull through. There is deer and other small wildlife that frequent the park. If you like walking, there are a number of walking trails associated with this park. You won't be disappointed visiting this park. We have already reserved November and December 2020. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here several times; it is one of our favorite city/county/state parks in Texas. The restrooms are well maintained, as are the showers. We stayed in Deer Field Loop, which is on the south side of Highway 173. It is away from the river, but it is also away from the highway noise. Deer Field Loop is 30 amp only, so be prepared to "step down" your electrical, if necessary. Ample trees for shade (and hammocks), which is good since they were too close to the rig to put out our awning. There are many hiking trails of varying difficulty, but none are very difficult. Close to town and all amenities. We would stay here again. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Try Bills BBQ, between Kerrville and Ingram on Highway 27. We prefer their turkey and sausage over the pulled pork. You must go to Gibson's Hardware for an "old time" shopping experience. It straddles West Water Street and Highway 27.

Overall Rating:

We recently spent 2 nights here. We stayed on the river side of the park (adjacent to Guadalupe River) in the Sycamore Circle area. It is a full hook up section. The utilities are split up. The sewer hook up is on one side of the camp site and the electric and water is on the other side. There is a picnic table on a concrete pad with a nice awning over it. The only negative for this camping loop is the road noise (Hwy 173). It was nonstop during the day. We did not hear it in the camper since the a/c was on, but I would not want to camp in a tent or popup camper in this loop. Check in was easy since we had already reserved and prepaid online. Supposedly there is wifi at the front office headquarters, but we were not able to access from our site. Also, the bathroom is quite a hike from the camping loop. There are eight over the air tv channels (no major networks). It is a convenient campground to Kerrville, but if we camp here again we will camp in the Deer Field section of the park (across the highway from park headquarters). Lots of trails to access on that side of the park. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This campground is convenient to the city of Kerrville. We did not do much sight seeing in the area on this trip since we have to Kerrville many times in the past. The Guadalupe River is an easy hike from the campsite. There are many trails to hike on the other section of the park.

HEB grocery was a great store, not too far away. Momacitas was the best Mexican Food we have ever eaten at great prices. Kerrville is centrally located to Bandera (cowboy capitol), Medina, Junction, San Antonio and Fredericksburg where the wildflowers farms are.

Very clean park right in Kerrville. Staff was really nice. We were in the 50 amp FHU sites. Sewer is on the street side of pull through and the water and electric were on the other side. We hooked water and electric up by throwing the cable/hose under the RV, otherwise the our door would have been on street side. Well kept park, road noise from hwy but we ran a fan and it didn't bother us. Not much privacy in 50 amp area but sites are placed well enough. Staff did say they were adding 50 amp to the other side of hwy. We would stay there again. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Kerrville Schreiner Park is separated into two sections, divided by Hwy 173/Bandera Hwy. One side is the river side. There are no RV sites with an actual river view, but they are within walking distance of the river. There are four cabins with a river view. The river side has easy access to the river, the playground, and the butterfly garden; however, RV sites are closer to the highway, which means you get more highway noise at night. The other side of the park is the hillside area. We stayed in the hillside area in the Deerfield Loop. The RV sites are large. Although we heard the highway at times while outdoors, it was usually quiet. Most of the hiking trails are on this side of the park also. We saw deer during much of our stay, as well as rabbits. We found the connections in the Deerfield Loop to be situated well. Sites are slightly unlevel. We did have to level our trailer, but that is to be expected almost anywhere in the hill country. It's best to bring a sewer hose bridge to help keep the sewage going in the correct direction. There are two washers and two dryers located near the Deerfield Loop; however, the washers weren't in service when we were there. I asked the office if there were more, and there were not. She did direct me to a laundromat in Kerrville. Restrooms stayed clean, even with the volume of people using them over spring break. We enjoyed our stay there, and we would like to return. It's a nice campground. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Travel Trailer.

We spent a week here in between NOMADS mission projects to explore some of the HiIl Country. We made our reservation for the Pecan Loop (30 amp full hookups) but after a few nights we asked to move to the part of the park across the highway where there is less traffic noise from the highway. The staff gave us a list of the sites that would be available for the remainder of our stay and let us pick one. We enjoyed the trails and easy access to the River Trail. There are a lot of deer in the park - indigenous whitetails as well a a couple of imported exotics. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Motorhome.

This was our second stay at this park. The park is split into two parts: one on the side of the river and one on the South side of Bandera Highway. Check-in is at the office on the river side entrance. Both times we stayed on the larger part of the park, South of the highway. They have a great trail system here, and it was recently expanded. You can hike for several miles here and never leave the park. We will stay here again. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Travel Trailer.

River side site. The landscaping, architecture, and amenities make it pleasant to stay with a state park (which it was) atmosphere. Utilities are up to spec and convenient except for under voltage power. Sites are pullouts and are level, paved and long enough for camper and towed. Parking is confusing, either you go the wrong way on the road for correct utility connections or the utility is on the wrong side of the camper. Roads and sidewalks are paved. Staff is OK and keeps the grounds manicured. I rate campgrounds not from a wishlist of services, facilities and luxuries, but how well the campground is maintaining the existing services and facilities. It is on our return list. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Motorhome.

Hate to say, but nice hidden gem. Price was good, nice wooded, separated, larhe, shaded pull thru sites. Tons of deer, feels like a park environment not an Rv park environment. The available washers and dryers were a nice added touch since we were there three weeks. 30 AMP only in most sites, but full HU. Electric was great, water good. Will definitely stay here next time in this area. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Motorhome.

Greenbelt path is nice. If you like mountain biking, check out the trails off the other loop across the road. We visited the WW2 museum but didn't enjoy it as much as the WW1 museum in Kansas City. Kerrville has everything you need. Visit Fredricksburg if you're into wine. Propane at KOA, but they charge by the tank.

This was our second stay at this former state park campground and we knew enough to get a Deerfield Loop FHU site down the hill from our previous W/E site. The only difficulty is having to check in and get the gate code in the smaller, cramped, riverside section of the park, then turn the RV around and cross the busy road to the larger, more spacious section of the park. But, being right in town, close to relatives, shopping, and restaurants, this park couldn't be any more convenient or practical for our stay. We will very likely stay here again in the future. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

WOW - what a great campground in a municipal park! Two weeks prior, we made reservations through the Park website where we were able to select our exact camp site. We arrived right before 1pm on a Friday and was processed quickly and given directions to Deer Field Loop,, which is on the other side of Bandera Highway, not next to the Guadalupe River, and thru a closed gate requiring an access code. Deer Field Loop is only pull-thru sites with full hook ups. There is no cable or wifi. Very level asphalt sites, concrete picnic table, fire ring, partial shade and utility hook-ups close to each site that were in good condition. Sites had very good distance from the next site. There were 4 other RVs in this loop during this weekend and a couple tents and pop-ups in the nearby camping area, so it was very quiet the entire weekend. We did not hear any noise from Highway 173, but we did notice this Park is on the approach pattern for the Kerrville Municipal Airport, so the low-flying aircraft/helicopters were interesting. Loved having the deer roaming around in the mornings and evenings. I suppose the 100 degree weather kept campers away. Even though we didn't use the public restrooms/showers, we did a quick walk thru to see the condition and they appeared to be very clean except for the moldy shower curtain in the women's shower. I would of rated this "excellent", but the concrete picnic table was approximately 50 feet from our RV in a grassy, full sun area and it was unmovable and therefore not useable. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Travel Trailer.

Former state park now run by the city. Nicely spaced asphalt sites. Riverside area has significant car noise from two sides. Not a problem at night. Only complaint is the oddly located utility hook ups. Water and power on one side, sewer on other in Sycamore loop. In other loops they were on same side but sewer very far away. That being said, we will return. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Motorhome.
