THIS ISN'T A PASSPORT AMERICA ANY MORE! Nice people, but who ever designed this park has never RV'ed or went to another RV park to see how you design one. Yet there aren't any RV parks in the Longview area you'd call primo or just nice. The sites are small as far as I'm concerned they don't have many real long sites. Sites are gravel and RV is pavement. Utilities aren't we placed. Power worked great but very low to the ground and is hard to plug in. Sewer is back father on the site and up hill and the part end of hose fits in is higher. I don't understand why they did that I'll include a picture. All there utilities work very well and I commend them for that. Wifi is slow but most park are. I might come back if passing thru. You're 8 miles or less from super Wal-mart, Target, Lowe's and lots of restaurants This is the prime location. Anything and everything is around here on loop 281. Jucy's Tacos on the loop 281 and Judson road and Jucy's Hamburgs is on hwy 259 south or the loop also one on hwy 80 two different places great food. I was here visiting family. - JustDon
Feb 2017 - $18.00
This is an easy location to get to. Very friendly staff. The park is out in the open with out trees. There are a few covered sites. We had a pull through on asphalt. The park sites are spacious. There is a dog run but I was very disappointed that visitors had not cleaned up after their pets even though there were bags and trash receptacle. I even walked my dog on another grassy area that was littered with poop! - oniedu
Nov 2016 - $21.00
Passport America, Good Sam. Fairly new park. Very nice asphalt slabs w/very good gravel roads. No grass or trees in park. Free WIFI works well. Apx. 6 covered sites. Easy access, friendly host. My only caution would be the utility hookups. They are at extreme rear of the site. A long sewer hose plus an extension will be needed, especially for a motorhome. The sewer connection is also rather high above the ground making dumping difficult for motorhomes. Water & electric connections are very close to the ground (perhaps 4 inches) ...connecting is a little more difficult than normal because of being so close to the ground. - AFChap

Nov 2018 - $41.00
Sites, although concrete, were only wide enough for the motorhome. With the slides out, we had to walk around on the grass/weeds. Picnic table table was sitting in the weeds, i.e., no patio. Made our reservation for two nights, but our plans changed and just needed one night and a late checkout. No problem, they said, just pay for two nights and we can leave anytime we want. Really? Not accommodating at all. Glad our neighbors left before we did, the roads are narrow. The county road to the park is also narrow with a narrow bridge. We won’t be back. - ETX

Easy access, sites a bit unlevel for long motor homes but are workable. Roads are a bit rough. Utilities good with reliable electric and good water pressure. 30 sites total, 10 pull throughs. Corral available for horses. Very nice club house/meeting hall with kitchen and rear deck, bathrooms/showers, and laundry. We found it difficult to walk our small dogs due to many residents allowing their large dogs to run loose (not vicious but quite intimidating), but otherwise enjoyed our stay. - AFChap

LOTS of long-term people with a lot of stuff outside. Sites are a little gravel with a lot of grass. Everything seemed to work fine, grass needs to be mowed. Very friendly office staff. Not a bad cheap place for a stopover, close to the highway. - DogFriendlyGuy
Jun 2015 - $27.00
We stayed in a pull through for $400.00 a month. We chose pull through because we have a 42 ft big rig. Do not have to pay electric if in a pull through. Park really not good for big rigs. Too close for comfort. Very nice people work and live at park, especially front office staff. She is the best. Washers and dryers area is very clean. I would stay again for overnight. We flooded at our trailer during heavy rains. - sherry whorton
Apr 2012 - $27.00
We have stayed at this park numerous times. Per the last reviews it is only 1/4 mile from I 20 but great convenience. The restrooms, laundry are very clean, the staff are very friendly. Good pull through sites. The only "small" concern is their dog area has a lot of stickers/cockerburs which tend to get all over the dogs but lots of room for the dogs. Wish this small concern could be addressed. But love this small/family owned camp area. - Dixie Darling

We pulled in late and the office was closed. We called the late-arrival number and it was answered immediately. We were given the number of our assigned campsite, which was next to the office and pool, and texted us the entry code for the restroom/laundry and WiFi. She told us WiFi was probably not available at our site but could be accessed from the office. The sites are all grass with ruts after recent rain and are not very level. There were few occupied sites so we had lots of privacy. There is one bathroom, one shower, and a room with several washers and dryers at the back of the office building. The facilities were clean enough. There's a small playground for kids. Only a very few sites have picnic tables. There are no shaded sites. Everyone we spoke to was helpful and friendly. This was a good value for a one night stopover in the area where there are few alternatives. - leorah

Oct 2017 - $15.00
Nice, well maintained little park. Great rate at $15/night for 20/30/50 and water. Large, level, back in site fit both truck and trailer with no need to disconnect. Unfortunately, contrary to what other reviewers said, my stay was not quiet at all, even with the park empty. Locals were cruising the adjacent street with music turned way up all night long. A few drove through the campground and left when they saw the camper. Barking dog at one of the neighboring homes and several trains throughout the night. Might be different during the week, but I would not return on a Saturday night. And probably would not return at all. Just too loud. - RV_CamperGuy
Sep 2016 - $15.00
This was a great find. Elec and water. Has dump station on the way out. Very quiet. Nice park connected with children's playground and tennis court. Nice walking path. If you're between Dallas and Shreveport on I-20, check it out. Probably not a good park if your RV is longer than 34 ft. - LisaTom
Sep 2016 - $15.00
Very nice park, well maintained, clean and quiet. No working 50 amp at any of the sites the night we stayed there, but 30 amp was fine with the use of an adaptor. There is no sewer hookup at the sites but there is a dump station. As other reviewer wrote: "The RV park entrance is on the west side at South Commerce street between Harris Street and West Woodlawn (Hwy 42)." We will stay there again when in the area. - Mom_of_Two

A new reasonable rated park. Great rates best locally. Your close to everything in Gladewater. pizza hut is a mile away, Brookshire's Grocery Market is too, also Ace Hardware, some Dollar stores in town, lots of Antique stores down town Gladewater. Lots of restaurants in town. Kilgore oil museum. This is located in between Longview and Tyler great home base for exploring East Texas. - JustDon

Nov 2018 - $30.00
Nice park with concrete pads, good room between sites, and solid utilities. The road to exit the park is a bit tight. Wifi was decent. The only dings are that the sites are a bit unlevel front to rear. Why go to the trouble and expense of pouring concrete and not making it level. The front tires on our 40' coach were barely touching the ground when we got level and I saw several others the same way. Nice long sites with good parking. Another ding was the bugs and spiders in the pedestal. How much does it take to wipe things down occasionally? Little things make an impression. Having said all that, it is a nice park and we would stay again. - Pjoe
Jun 2018 - $30.00
The park is made up of all concrete pads and roads and is convenient to Longview or Tyler. Staff was very nice and the park was clean and pretty well kept. Most sites are not level, but not a major problem. On the other hand, the exit could be a problem for longer, lower rigs. We will stay here again. - mfcros
May 2018 - $22.00
We have family near by and have stayed several places and Shallow Creek is by far the nicest in the area. Like the extra pavement with each site, makes it easy to park our dually. We travel fulltime and this pool is the nicest we've seen ... great design, placement, details and construction. If we had a home this is the pool we would want ! And the staff is helpful and friendly. We have already made our fall reservations ! - 5050

Made reservations prior and arrived Sunday. Office was closed and no envelope for us. The camp host did not know we were arriving. A poor start but found the park satisfactory.
A cleaning lady made us feel welcome, contacted the park host, and overall did a great job helping us.
Park was clean, sites have concrete pads, grass between sites. All utilities worked well.
We found a constant noise from a motor running on the property close by. Not extremely loud but consistent.
Overall a good place for an overnight. - RDRV
Sep 2015 - $26.00
Nice park, large level gravel pull-throughs. Individual bath/showers, very clean. Note that they no longer except PPA. Slightly disappointed because it was one of the reasons I chose the park. - SnowBird 5050
May 2015 - $26.00
We arrived on a rainy, stormy evening and were greeted with a warm welcome from the office staff. We were given plenty of information on local places of interest. Our site was a level concrete pad that was much appreciated during the huge downpour. The amenities were absolutely first class and we really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were super friendly and we take away some lovely memories of a great night of music. - KenandCathy

Martin Creek State Park is fairly clean. The sites are fairly wide. Sewer not on-site but dump station located up front. There is no wifi but AT&T and T-Mobile both have great service. - TJ13802
Apr 2018 - $18.00
Loved this park! During our stay (in the middle of the week) it was very quiet from the perspective of other campers. We also enjoyed the few miles of walking (biking) trails. However, because it's a state park that sees lots of traffic during the weekend, it does have places that need cleaning (mostly near the shores of the lake near the island). An interesting thing about this campground is that there is a power plant across the lake which has a continual humming (machinery) noise coming from it. For us it was basically white noise that actually helped us sleep. Also, there is occasional train noise coming from the plant. Honestly though, this did NOT distract from our enjoyment of this park. - Wandering With Us
Aug 2016 - $17.00
Rate reflects no access fees due to Texas State Park Pass. We don't normally give 10's to parks without FHU, but this park deserves it. This is a gem of a state park! Quiet, clean and well kept. This is the nicest state park staff we have ever come across. The park manager is present and active; the office staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Ranger staff, maintenance and camp hosts were all visible and friendly. They welcomed us and went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Power was steady at 122V and 55PSI for water. No sewer, but there is a double dump station. It was very clean and provided a trash can and water hook up. They have an island you can access by a walking bridge with picnic tables and trails all thru it. Great bird watching, large boat launch and numerous places to fish and enjoy nature.
There are 2 camping loops, one is 30 amp only, the other is larger, but they only offer about six 50 amp sites at this time. Staff told us they are updating their electricity to the park and hope to have more 50A in the near future. Most are fairly level. The park was quiet while we were here. There are some camping shelters for tenting and a couple of cabins. We plan to return to this park in the future. - Fixn2gocamp
