Intended to stay here while having service done at Lubbock Freightliner. Park is a little tight on the turns at the end of the rows. Most sites for transients are pull thrus, BUT I do not recommend this park for BIG RIGS. Sites, while level, are tight and VERY SHORT. Some sites have trees that overhang your rig. 40' and under should have no problems here. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Motorhome.

Requested a pull through so we wouldn't have to unhook for an overnight stay. Some sites are too short to accommodate a trailer and tow vehicle, but we were able to get a site that did. Unfortunately, that put us very close to a busy road and RR track, but with the AC running, the noise was minimal. The staff were very helpful, restrooms and laundry facility clean (washers and dryers only accept credit cards but were very reasonably priced) and good WiFi. We used the indoor pool which was clean. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Travel Trailer.

If you are staying while visiting your kids at TxTech, it will do. If you are needing an overnight place while trying to get out of Texas, it will do. It is an average KOA, nothing more. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of potholes. I did not unhook and the Pull-through was a bit short leaving a foot or so of my F-250 exposed.

For a KOA, this one is fair on its pricing for what you get. We stopped on an overnight and stayed in a pull-through so we wouldn't have to unhook the toad. As has been mentioned the sites are very short and really do not adequately accommodate a 40' RV and Toad. Looking around the gravel and dirt area there are both Class A and 5th wheels with their truck or toad extending out into the road. The roads through the park are extremely narrow as well which makes pulling out a tough task as in some cases there is also a large tree right on the road blocking an easy turn. The indoor pool is a welcome amenity as this park is essentially in the desert. Utilities are easy to access and work fine and the wifi is actually better than most. Many campers devoid of common courtesy and walk through other campers sites as a short cut to the pool. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Dusty, tight interior roads, park is right next to road and railroad and was really noisy. Good, level, Water/Sewer/Electric pull-through site with cable. All services worked fine. WiFi unreliable but we don't count on campground WiFi as we find it rarely meets our needs. Verizon OK. We were back by the dumpsters which needed to be emptied and drew a lot of flies. Indoor pool which was OK, but the heater and hot tub were both broken. We enjoyed the Buddy Holly stuff, a nice lunch at Cast Iron grill, and spent the whole afternoon at the National Ranching Heritage Center at Texas Tech; it was fantastic. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The signage was inadequate and we missed the turn into the park; we turned around in a parking lot of an adjacent business that had a bigger sign than the KOA sign stating that his property should not be used for turnarounds, so that indicated to me I wasn't the only person who missed the entrance to the park. Restrooms need a rehab with newer toilets installed. WiFi is spotty. Most TV stations are grainy. The park is acceptable for overnighters only; and it really helps if you don't need WiFi or TV because you won't be satisfied with either. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Travel Trailer.

In my experience KOAs are never great nor ever awful; a range maybe of 6.5 to 8. The Lubbock KOA is on the low end of that scale, primarily because the sites are short. Also, no 50 amp and the roads and sites are gravel, close together and tight. But if you happen to be on your way to Muleshoe, the location can't be beat! The restrooms and showers were tired, but clean. It's fine for an overnight. Anything longer and you'll probably want to shop around. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Asked for 30 amp site & although two were available they gave us a 50 amp site which was $10 more. The sewer connection was about 12 inches high so didn't drain properly. The heated pool had no functional heater & the hot tub was out of order. Also the pool ladder was broken. The cable wouldn't work & the WiFi signal was poor. When we complained about the pool being cold we were told "just write a review". Sites are small. Park is clean. Will not be back due to rudeness of staff, & being charged more than quoted. We didn't even have a picnic table or fire ring at our site. Lots of traffic noise. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Motorhome.

In my opinion this by far the worst RV Park we have ever stayed in. Mainly because of the never ending noise from the highway and train track. On top of that after some rain which was moderately heavy our campsite flooded as well as many of the other sites and roads. Very poor drainage. The employees at the campground are the best part of this park as they are friendly and helpful. The location of the this park close to the highway and train track and the poor drainage in park is the problem. We would never stay here again. It was impossible to sleep due to the noise. Granted, we made the reservation at about 4:30 on a Friday nite and got one of 3 remaining back-in sites at the rear of the park near the dog run. That's fine, didn't have to unhook for the over-nighter. But I just don't understand sloppy site maintenance, long grass, trash, cig butts, burnt food in the grill, overgrown and invasive trees. Only $32, but what does it take to clean it up a bit? We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice KOA. Close to Lubbock. Visited Lubbock Lake Landmark. Indoor pool, which was nice. Sites are close together, but typical for a KOA. Close to highway and railroad tracks, but noise wasn't a problem since we had to run AC almost fulltime. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

I'd rate this park "average" for an overnight stop - compared to all the parks we've stayed in. But it is WAY below KOA standards for maintenance. The sites were level with full hookup and fine, but the shade trees are very young and provide no appreciable shade yet, and some need trimming. Pool ladder was broken and dangerous. Hot tub was closed for maintenance. Hot water in shower didn't work. We stayed one night in a 33' travel trailer. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The Park is off US 84 Northwest of the city. The roads and sites are gravel. some grass between sites. Many of the sites are lined with ties. The sites average width the lengths go from short to long. Most sites you will need to unhook if you have an RV over about 36'. The office personnel was friendly and very helpful. They had an indoor pool which is nice amenity. The WiFi is better than many parks (we were next to an antenna). It was a good stop and on our route. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Did not unhook from motorhome so not sure of dining choices. We did purchase gas at the Valero station north of the park before checking into the campground. Lots of road construction detours on the highway near the park.
