May 2018 - $36.00
The park is very easy to get to from I 20. The roads are paved and easy to navigate. The sites are level and well maintained with a nice concrete patio. The laundry is small, two machines, but adequate for the size of the park. The restrooms and showers were clean and neat. There a nice looking swimming pool. We would stay here again. - 2WArvers
Apr 2018 - $24.00
Park is small and does what it should with good utilities for an overnight stop in the wind. Cute buildings and pool with good service from owners. Only 6 others in the park and other than I-20 noise quiet. Good locations for utilities and maintained gravel roads. Will stop again if the distances work out. - dalenoel
Jun 2017 - $24.00
This was an overnight stop for us. We tried to call ahead but the owner was having issues with his phone system which also meant no credit cards. Not his fault. He directed us to a site near the office which was a pull through. Very friendly owners. I felt bad about their phone problems. Many of the residents looked semi-permanent. We noticed the pool. It was small but a nice addition. The little western style buildings were attractive and well kept. Our problem came when it started to rain. Our site was pretty much flooded. Luckily, I had brought some boots along so I could get our dogs outside. We had to carry them from the tt to a spot about 25 feet away that wasn't in the standing water. The site next door was also flooded. So if it looks like rain when you are about to stop there, be sure to ask for a site that might stay a little dryer! The water did recede by morning. The highway noise did not bother us inside the trailer. Utilities were as expected. The price we paid reflects the Passport America discount. I would not pay full price to stay here. - arizona drifters

Lakeside is a small family owned place on Possum Kingdom Lake. There are 20 nicely manicured, level sites all in a row down one length of the property. PK Lake is down pretty low (10 ft or more) due to the drought. Still a lot of fun but you have to feel for the people with immovable docks Lakeside. Owners were very nice. Place was clean utilities all worked. NO INTERNET. Pet peeve of mine since I work on the road. They have a room where you can go and check online but that's it. Had to use my hotspot. Owners have the place up for sale due to health issues. Maybe the next guys will invest in Internet. Very expensive for what you get. - Patriot04
May 2011 - $60.00
Fabulous place. Best on PK by a long shot. The hosts are awesome and immediately welcome you as a part of the family. This is our second summer here and we get a great monthly rate. All paved and level sites, plenty of parking, great central location. Excellent amenities and facilities. Our kids love it here. No shade but usually a good breeze. Boat ramp is steep but you are very close to several public ramps. Don't waste your time looking for any other RV parks on the lake. This is the one! - ShawnaMarie
Aug 2010 - $17.00
This place is great! Owners are the best in the business! There are a couple summer time full timers but they are great people. The park has a boat ramp onsite (little steep) and dock space for 5-6 boats. The pool on the water is great and well maintained. The rate shown reflects a monthly rate and includes electricity averaged in. My 5th wheel is there now and will stay there as long as the lake stays warm. This is the first full season in operation (2010) so the shade trees are still young and should be great for the 2011 season. Again, this is a great place and is at the top of my list and I'm sure it will be for a long time. - ltwindle

May 2018 - $20.00
This is a beautiful park right on the lake after travelling miles on the road to the park. We camped in our 35' motorhome with tow in the Spanish Oaks area. , Site 5. The back-in spots were long enough and we could park our tow at the front. A lovely covered picnic table was strangely on the other side of our motorhome which limited our use. TV reception not so good nor phones but the peace and quiet and wonderful view more than made up for that for a couple of nights. Not a great deal of shade however it was enough for us. We would stay here again. - OzFrosty
Nov 2017 - $23.00
Very well maintained. Friendly park rangers. Large, spacious, level sites. Nice hiking trails. Beautiful lake with nice swimming area, fishing pier and boating. - LP1957
Jul 2017 - $25.00
Nice view of lake, large swimming area but steep entry. Some sites easier to back into than others with large trailer. Easy access to water from most sites. Fully stocked store in park - but beer nowhere near so come prepared. - SDSaylor

Aug 2008 - $30.00
The electrical boxes were old and need replacing, our electricity did not work upon arrival. Luckily some fellow campers were certified electricians and had the proper tools and equipment to repair the box. The cable TV also did not work. The office did not seem to care about the problems with our site, offered us no refund not even a partial! The few RV sites are at the end of what seems to be a trailer park and there are also some cabins owned by the same people that seem to be in a dire need of renovation. There is always a heavy flow of people from the trailer park cruising by on golf carts, sometimes at a very high rate of speed. The management here is not keeping up with the grounds at all. Much nicer RV sites right next door. - FrogDog26

Sep 2018 - $25.00
Over the years I have staid here many times under the original owners and now the new owners. I have noticed that the park has more and more long term guests. This can lead to clutter. The first time I staid here in September I was greeted by 3 dog poop piles as I stepped out of the coach. I noted it to the manager. I came back about a week later and I noticed they now have someone going around in the morning looking for trash and loose paper. I also noticed a few of the rougher looking RVs were gone. I hope this is indicative of an attention to cleaning up the park. Getting in and around the park is easy and all utilities work well so I have raised my rating from 7 to 8. - peddy dick
Jun 2018 - $32.00
Excellent RV park if you are looking for peace and quiet away from the city. Roads are gravel and with adequate room to navigate our large rig. The sites are gravel and just a bit on the narrow side, but we were able to level off easily. Although the site gravel is narrow, the actual space between the sites is spacious. The pool and hot tub are excellent. We will stay here again! - PBW
Apr 2018 - $32.00
Two day stay heading north. Great stop with level sites and good services. Pleasant check-in and easy access from I-20. Dogs appreciated the dog park. Would stay there again when in the area. - Shacky

This is a very quiet campground with some of the best possible hosts. They have it set up for family camping and family fun. It is on a nice beach and the sites are easily maneuvered. This isn't a RV resort with doggy walks and concrete slabs and patios. If you like camping, like we do, then this is a great bargain and a good place to get away or even host a family reunion. - tbax46

Jun 2016 - $24.00
Park is nice. Little clubbard in some spots. Management was rude. - Texas- Proud
May 2016 - $25.00
Pool was very cute, had a shallow part with two fountains for our toddler. (Although the pool edge was rock...) Pool also had a "cave" through a waterfall that you could sit in which was cute. The whole place was kept up and the bathrooms/showers were nice and clean. Front office lady was nice enough. One thing about what is on the website that was false-- website says "Playgrounds for kids." All they had was a backyard swing set deal with a slide, and it was right between the other RVs. Because of our 2 year old, I wanted a pool and a playground for sure and I felt mislead on the playground. Pad was gravel but level. There was noticeable highway noise but wasn't a concern. Power, water and sewer hook up. - JasonMont
May 2010 - $18.00
There are not enough trees to shade a gopher. This park is in the middle of nowhere, and there are no amenities. The park manager said that he hates people in general. They have no vending machines, no ice machines They are not equine friendly. There is no pool, just a site that is unlevel, road noise from 281, and no TV, unless you want to get a movie from them that also costs. The only good thing I can say about this park is that I never have to stay there again. - roving cowboy

Mar 2018 - $25.00
Have stayed at this park twice each year for 5 years, it was great under the original owner, new owners seem to be absent, no maintenance, broken electrical pedestals and the "permanents" have left garbage and about 50 dog poops in the adjacent site and ours (#7). It used to be a good site to stop at, not so much now unfortunately. - jtimcorp
Apr 2017 - $25.00
This is our 3rd stay at this Park. Our first stay it was called RL RV Park, the 2nd stay it was Cowboy RV Park and now it is Horseshoe RV Park. It is basically a pull in, pick a site, retrieve an envelope and place cash ONLY in the envelope. The building where you place the envelope has been cleaned up with vending machines inside the building (this is new)! The sites are quite adequate for Big Rigs towing and the park is very convenient to I-20. There is one small building that houses a laundry and two showers, one for men the other for women (which we have never used). The power is adequate which is all we use. This Park could become quite popular as an overnight stop but, the new owners have to address the weeds that are taking over the park. The gravel parking sites are being over grown with weeds which REALLY detracts from the Parks appearance. - Stealth01
Oct 2016 - $40.00
This is no longer RL RV Park. It is Cowboy RV Park under new management. We arrived around 2:45 pm on a Friday. Office was closed but instructions on bulletin board re picking spot and payment. There is no wifi, at this time anyway. There are about 25 level, gravel, full hook-up sites. It's hard to tell if new owners are making improvements. There's a Loves Gas Station 1/4 mile down the street. The rv park is ok for overnight. I'm not sure we'd stay again, tho. With discount, we paid $25.00, which seems expensive for very little. - Leema

Oct 2018 - $32.00
Rate reflects a $2 charge to use a credit card. Pulled in with no reservations but we did call ahead to make sure there was spaces available. No one in the office but someone told us to just pick as spot and the manager would catch up with us later. Went over to pay and mentioned the sign at the entrance that they offer military discount but the lady said they offer the discount to everyone. We found space 8 empty so pulled in there. There has been a lot of rain here in this area of Texas so I can understand the lack of yard care but we noticed a lot of trash on the ground around the dumpsters. Good solid 50 amp electric and great water pressure. Our Verizon cell signal was good at 3 bars of 4g service and we had a clear shot to use our onboard satellite dish. This park is about 80% long term residents. Most keep their sites clean but there are others that don't even try. We would stay again. - StarlifterFE
Sep 2016 - $28.00
This was just an overnight stay for us and we've stayed here before. The staff are charming and efficient; the park is well-kept and relatively quiet, considering how close they are located to Hwy 281; our site was level and long enough that we didn't need to unhitch. The WiFi was pretty hit or miss (mostly miss). There isn't any cable and the antenna can only pick up very few channels. The park appears to be more of a long-term place than transient, but it's just fine for an overnight. We'll probably stay there again in the future. - Paul Elliott
Jan 2015 - $25.00
This was our second stay at Rocker D because the park is well maintained, the restrooms are clean and the wifi service is satisfactory. All utilities function correctly. Rocker D is a good overnight park and we will stay here again when in the area. - OldeJohn
