We stayed at this KOA during Memorial weekend. Found an opening last minute on Thursday so we were happy campers. We were happy to see they had fire rings as lots of Texas campgrounds don't but upon arriving we learned that our particular site did not and the KOA were not able to help us at all with that so we had to buy one at Wal-mart. Little disappointing. We also were not given info. at check-in about garbage, paddle boats or any special events in park. Free wi-fi did not work most of the time. As a Sprint user I was not able to get service in CG or around town. Verizon service worked and we had to use our hot spot. We were escorted to our site which was helpful. Nice long paved site that fit our 41' MH and Jeep and room for our fire pit also. Site did have picnic table. Our site backed up to one of the ponds (lots of nature sounds at night). Disappointed to see grass was not mowed (until Memorial Day) Were told due to large MH's from a previous rally that week they couldn't mow around them. Park seems to be lacking in upkeep some but still decent facilities. They were also in process of moving the office. Very large park with 200+ sites with several permanents and 35 cabin sites. Wasn't even full on Memorial weekend. We didn't use much of facilities but spent time hiking and exploring in the area. Close to groceries, restaurants and Lake Conroe and Sam Houston National Forest. Bugs were not bad when we went in May. Upper 80's. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A nice dinner spot on the lake is Wolfie's off 105. Crawfish and shrimp. Busy place. Also if you like hiking there are two spots - Sam Houston National Forest (Lone Star Trailhead #6) and WG Jones State Forest in The Woodlands (25 min.)

Stayed 7 days in a 43' motorhome to attend a American Coach rally. Came in on East I-10/TX 105 to CG and avoided Houston loop traffic. Efficient check-in. Big rig friendly. Interior roads are paved. Sites are PT/ back-in with and w/o shade. Escort to back-in site 178, FHU, level concrete pad with cable, picnic table and manicured grass with lots of space between sites. Some sites are lakeside. Fishing is catch/release. All utilities worked well. Good ATT signal. Did not use WiFi. Behind our coach we had a large open grass field on a small hill facing several rental cabins. Large dog park with doggie bags. CG has a large, comfortable convention center where the rally took place. There are numerous clean, A/C restrooms/showers throughout park. Large heated pool under roof with open sides and large deck area with chairs and tables with adjacent well-kept playground. Throughout CG there are several A/C meeting centers and open covered shelters where we had happy hours. CG would get a 10+ but cable was fuzzy and some channels unusable. Close to restaurants and Diesel fuel. When in this area will stay again. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Definitely visit the George. H. W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum in College Station (approx. 50 miles). Exit to the left to Kroger's (1/4 Mi.- diesel avail) and to the right Walmart approx. 5 miles. Visit the Pizza Shack across the street for great pizza.

Great park other than there is now no wifi. They advertise one and claim they have a new one....we were there for a week and could never get on from our site. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Camped at this KOA between Conroe and Montgomery again. It is closest to friends we visit often. Our back-in site was level and long enough for our Class A, 45' motorhome & F150 truck. We had to trim the vegetation at the back of the site in order to back in further & not have branches rubbing the coach. There are some dead trees between some sites that need to be removed. Some general maintenance around the park is lacking. Overall, its good enough, but could be better. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Very nice RV park with level cement pads, pull-thru and back-in sites, FHU-50 amp, cement patio with picnic table and fire pit. Long sites. Fairly spacious grass area between sites. Cable. Sometimes good wifi. Pool. Hot tub (which was broken when we were there). Interior roads good for big-rigs. Pond, pier, gazebo, bridge over pond (needs maintenance). Very nice kid play area. Pickle ball and basketball courts. Laundry. Dog park. Some long-time residents but rigs and sites are maintained. Would stay here again. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed one nite. Big rig friendly. Back in site on the pond was nice and quiet for our 45' Class A motorhome with tow. Friendly staff. Said there were only a few spaces around the lake, but there were actually several spaces for an overnight. ?? Will return as friends are in the area. Walk the Pull thru spaces east of the pond as some are not all that level. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Monthly rate $650 including power (not good value!). Nice campground with responsive, helpful staff. Lots of road noise & our site was by a lift station that hummed constantly. Pool & hot tub were closed for maintenance. Wifi was hit & miss, stable 50 amp power & good water pressure. Laundry room was good & kept clean. Perhaps our review would be more positive if we'd been in a different part of the campground. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

The pro: concrete pad. The cons: poor cable reception, no useable wifi, tall grass, $9 for a bundle of firewood. If it wasn’t for family in the area, we wouldn’t come back. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Good concrete pads, personnel very good but not much they could do about poor cable, wifi is a joke, kept calling their provider and they kept saying working on it never could get logged on, dirty bath and showers, grass in dire need of mowing very tall, heard from others in the park this is the way it is all the time. Occasional mowing done, didn't dare to try the pool or hot tub. Don't plan on coming back. Recommend staying elsewhere, can't believe the good reviews that I checked before coming here. Large Park with concrete pads, grass between sites. We had no trouble leveling. The park itself was well manicured. We did not use the pool. Staff was friendly and store was well equipped. Bathrooms needed attention. Cobwebs. Floor needed mopped. Toilet seats needed to be replaced. All in all, a very nice place to park. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The nearby town of Montgomery was charming. KOA store has brochure with listings, descriptions and locations of numerous historic homes. Fernland Historical Park and adjacent memory garden were well worth the visit.

This is an extremely large KOA campground with over 200 sites. The entrance was easy in, easy out and easy to drive through. We has a concrete pad that was not quite level, but OK. There was grass in between sites and the cable and WiFi was pretty good. Nice, clean CG and a pleasant place to stay. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

As others have written, hard to reach by phone. Resorted to using KOA's website to make my reservation. Site was concrete, but tilted downhill. Nothing the auto-levelers couldn't handle. Good water pressure. Nobody enforced the 5mph speed limit. If the Park was busy, it would be a problem. Grass between sites needed mowing. Utilities were in the middle which was inconvenient. FMCA Rally rate. Worst Wifi reception so slow...and you have to reconnect with pass code each day. Some sites really slope. So check out your site before you park your coach. but otherwise huge park with. Concrete sites, asphalt streets, grass between sites, spacious sites, picnic tables, patio, in ground fire pits, enclosed pool and spa, huge rally rooms for big groups. Lovely park with ponds, lakes, many cabins around the lake. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

New mega Kroger very near by plus shopping, boutiques, etc along 105 west into Montgomery and east toward Conroe. Many restaurants overlooking Lake Conroe and opportunities for day trips and boating activities- you can rent boats in season, launch boats, etc. very nice KOA office, friendly staff, escorted to site upon checkin. MY only bad comment was the very, very slow wifi and you need to reconnect with code each day...

We camped here several years ago under a different name, but it's good quality hasn't changed. One of the better KOA's. Easy off of Hwy 105 and plenty of room for parking at the registration office. Staff guided us to our site, after hours, even tho they could have left 20min earlier at closing time. The pull thru sites are plenty long, wide and level, but drop off on ea. end due to being on a hillside. This can make leveling tricky. All utilities are up to spec and conveniently located. This is a large park and with all it's amenities, could be considered resort class. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.
