Stayed one nite. Big rig friendly. Back in site on the pond was nice and quiet for our 45' Class A motorhome with tow. Friendly staff. Said there were only a few spaces around the lake, but there were actually several spaces for an overnight. ?? Will return as friends are in the area. Walk the Pull thru spaces east of the pond as some are not all that level. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Monthly rate $650 including power (not good value!). Nice campground with responsive, helpful staff. Lots of road noise & our site was by a lift station that hummed constantly. Pool & hot tub were closed for maintenance. Wifi was hit & miss, stable 50 amp power & good water pressure. Laundry room was good & kept clean. Perhaps our review would be more positive if we'd been in a different part of the campground. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

The pro: concrete pad. The cons: poor cable reception, no useable wifi, tall grass, $9 for a bundle of firewood. If it wasn’t for family in the area, we wouldn’t come back. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Good concrete pads, personnel very good but not much they could do about poor cable, wifi is a joke, kept calling their provider and they kept saying working on it never could get logged on, dirty bath and showers, grass in dire need of mowing very tall, heard from others in the park this is the way it is all the time. Occasional mowing done, didn't dare to try the pool or hot tub. Don't plan on coming back. Recommend staying elsewhere, can't believe the good reviews that I checked before coming here. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Large Park with concrete pads, grass between sites. We had no trouble leveling. The park itself was well manicured. We did not use the pool. Staff was friendly and store was well equipped. Bathrooms needed attention. Cobwebs. Floor needed mopped. Toilet seats needed to be replaced. All in all, a very nice place to park. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The nearby town of Montgomery was charming. KOA store has brochure with listings, descriptions and locations of numerous historic homes. Fernland Historical Park and adjacent memory garden were well worth the visit.

This is an extremely large KOA campground with over 200 sites. The entrance was easy in, easy out and easy to drive through. We has a concrete pad that was not quite level, but OK. There was grass in between sites and the cable and WiFi was pretty good. Nice, clean CG and a pleasant place to stay. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

As others have written, hard to reach by phone. Resorted to using KOA's website to make my reservation. Site was concrete, but tilted downhill. Nothing the auto-levelers couldn't handle. Good water pressure. Nobody enforced the 5mph speed limit. If the Park was busy, it would be a problem. Grass between sites needed mowing. Utilities were in the middle which was inconvenient. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

FMCA Rally rate. Worst Wifi reception so slow...and you have to reconnect with pass code each day. Some sites really slope. So check out your site before you park your coach. but otherwise huge park with. Concrete sites, asphalt streets, grass between sites, spacious sites, picnic tables, patio, in ground fire pits, enclosed pool and spa, huge rally rooms for big groups. Lovely park with ponds, lakes, many cabins around the lake. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

New mega Kroger very near by plus shopping, boutiques, etc along 105 west into Montgomery and east toward Conroe. Many restaurants overlooking Lake Conroe and opportunities for day trips and boating activities- you can rent boats in season, launch boats, etc. very nice KOA office, friendly staff, escorted to site upon checkin. MY only bad comment was the very, very slow wifi and you need to reconnect with code each day...

We camped here several years ago under a different name, but it's good quality hasn't changed. One of the better KOA's. Easy off of Hwy 105 and plenty of room for parking at the registration office. Staff guided us to our site, after hours, even tho they could have left 20min earlier at closing time. The pull thru sites are plenty long, wide and level, but drop off on ea. end due to being on a hillside. This can make leveling tricky. All utilities are up to spec and conveniently located. This is a large park and with all it's amenities, could be considered resort class. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

You might as well park at Walmart....stuck in the middle of a concrete jungle. We probably could have changed spots but it wouldn't have mattered. Had a relative stop by to visit who was handicapped...parked in the open spot next to us (the park was only 1/3 full...maybe) management came by and told us he could not park there. There was no marked ADA accommodations for parking in the camping area....he was only there for 3 hours...THEN they wanted to charge us $10for his entrance. It was not gated so there is no control with who enters or leaves the park. Couldn't use the fire ring because the spots are so close you might set your rig on fire....NEVER stay here. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times in the past and this park's environment has definitely changed. It's a large and well designed park that remains a relatively decent stay for the occasional campers. However, subtle changes have decreased this park's attractiveness for full-timers. As in the past, we opted to stay here for nearly 3 weeks, as we use the opportunity to order things we need. However, we learned that the new management will no longer accept packages. There use to be fun signs posted near the fish ponds, and the cabins had clever names instead of numbers. All the fun signage is now gone and the cabins are "Cabin-1, Cabin-2" etc. Even though a search for wifi shows some 23 different routers, the access is extremely spotty and often non-existent. They either will not link, or are so incredibly slow that they are essentially useless. I'm not talking streaming here! We couldn't even load email or simple webpages. Nor did the cable TV work. After I told management about it, they sent someone right out to check the cable signal. There was none. After finding the cable junction box full of ants and dirt, he said he would be back to kill the ants and fix the cable. Yet, after nearly 3 weeks, we still had no cable. Furthermore, the ants on and around our site were so bad that they inundated our coach! That was exacerbated by the fact that when the grass was mowed on the very first day, the side discharge industrial mower was pointed right at our space, inundating our steps, rug, wheel covers, chairs, and everything else we had outside with dirt and grass clippings. That no doubt helped create the environment for fire ants, pharaoh ants, and every other form of ant known to man. Bottom line... we looked forward to moving on. And, it's quite likely that on our next stop in the area, we'll be looking for a different place to stay. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is actually near the small town of Montgomery, which is an historic and fun town with cute shops and wineries. It's also close to Lake Conroe, with all of its waterfront restaurants and activities. Keep in mind, however, that this park is neither close to Houston or close to I-45.

The love bugs were swarming for our trip up to the park. The staff allowed anyone who wished to wash the front of the vehicle. That's an accommodation I am not accustomed to at RV parks. Sites were all concrete with picnic tables and fire pits. While the sites were level, the access to some of the sites is pretty steep, so I recommend disconnecting a tow vehicle before getting to the site to prevent dragging the towing mechanism. Several meeting areas are available with standard kitchen appliances. The oven in the one we used was not calibrated well and so baking times were much longer than anticipated. Bring all of your utensils and cleaning products; none available in the kitchen. Staff was very friendly. Lovely scenery as there are two lakes on site; catch and release fishing allowed. Nice, covered swimming pool. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a wolf rescue facility within driving distance. Well worth the trip. Also, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plantersville (about 14 mi from the campground) is absolutely beautiful. It is styled after the painted churches in the Hallettsville, Shiner area.

We stayed at this KOA for the Heartland Owners Club Rally of South Texas. The facility is huge and the sites are well spaced for a KOA. The grounds were well kept. We had good water pressure and electricity was solid at the site. (We were in site 110). Cable TV was very "snowy". T-Mobile cell signal was strong - 5 bars. The only thing I didn't like was the curb you had to drive up on to get into the site pad. It was about 3.5 inches tall - not sure what they did it that way. We would stay here again - nice place.
