Nicely maintained park. This campground is on a finger of the lake which is very quiet. No access to the lake from the campground and the swimming beach was closed. Plenty of deer roaming the campground. Very secure place with each loop having its own gate. Level sites with nice spacing. Will definitely return when in the area. - Budmobile
Apr 2018 - $12.00
We stay in COE parks whenever we can. This one was immaculate, with the landscape well-tended. My site was perfectly lrvel, as was the site of the folks who camped with us. Personnel were professional and courteous, and got us checked in in short order. Restrooms and showers were clean and fairly modern. The only negative is that some of the signs are faded and difficult to read, and it would be food to have more of them. - K Graham
May 2017 - $24.00
Friendly staff at entrance station. Nice wide roads and parking pads. Extra parking spot at each site for an extra vehicle. Nice spacing between most of the sites. Some are shaded and some have full sun. Nice sturdy shelter over each picnic table. Most sites are level. Some sites have a view of the lake and some don't. Electric service was good. Water pressure was 100 PSI so be sure to take your regulator. There is a hiking trail but the trail head is located in a group camping area and if that area is in use, they will not let you use the trail! We saw lots of deer and one turkey. - BrentB

We stayed in a wooded area of the park. Quiet and peaceful spot. Water and electric with onsite dump station. Close to Lake Belton with boat access. - Mxtxus7803
Jan 2018 - $12.00
Very nice. Sites not as spacious as some COE parks but comfortable. Back in's, asphalt surface. Big rig friendly. well maintained, camp host available and friendly. Check in efficient. A fine campground, COE never a problem. - abqnm

Sites were clean, park was well kept. Bathrooms were immaculate. Lake was very clear. Boat ramp/courtesy dock is great. Site had a separate spot for boat parking (unhitched) - starcraft35

We are full timers and finally found a place to call home. Sites are spacious, park is very clean and the people are super friendly. Have a toddler and the park is extremely kid friendly. The park owner is very keen on safety. No speeders in this park! Play area for kids and by 8:30 pm everything is super quiet. Will be here for a very long time not to mention only a few minutes from the fishing hole. - Lloyd1276
Sep 2015 - $35.00
The park has asphalt roads and pads. None of the 32 pads are level but they do accommodate the largest rigs, if you don't mind having to back in.
Spacing between sites is nice, it allows a private and community feel.
The park is pet friendly with a $100 non-refundable pet deposit. It is also kid friendly.
Some sites have a picnic table and some have a tree that is still living. Sites have grass which is green during rains. No watering of yards is allowed per management. Lawns are regularly maintained as well as the small bath and laundry facility. 1 women's, 1 men's, and 1 washer dryer.
The park is best for long term stays and as an alternative when the lakeside parks are full.
This is my second long term stay and the park was better when it first opened. Overall the park isn't bad just some interesting management practices. But managing such a large RV park means growing pains for the person in charge. - KYoung

Apr 2018 - $24.00
Small, quiet park on Lake Belton. Not a lot to do outside of lake usage, and limited shade at the campsites. The sites are mostly pull thrus, with covered picnic tables at most of them. Very clean sites and restrooms. - Red Wolf
Jul 2017 - $24.00
Great access to lake and all easy swimming entry. Can pull your boat right up to sites. - SDSaylor
Apr 2012 - $10.00
This was a good find for our needs as we were in the area to visit relatives getting medical care. We were right on the lake in a pull through. They do let you drain your gray water on the ground which is nice. The rate reflects the America the Beautiful Senior Pass. Water pressure and 50 amp voltage was very good. We would stay here again. It is a Corps of Engineers Park. You are close to Belton, Temple and not that far from Killeen and the Fort Hood Army Base so there are plenty of shopping opportunities. - zrxh14

Nov 2018 - $18.00
We stayed on the Deer Park loop which has 28 campsites. Although there are full hookups, we only got 30-amp and water hookups. Several trailers were parked at FHU sites but no one was there the entire week we were there. The Nature in Lights Christmas lights display was going on and was very pretty to see. There is no WiFi. The lake water was very high and had recently flooded the area. The concrete pad was narrow and had sharp drop off at the edges. The trees were too close to the campsite and needed to have branches trimmed back. Security patrols the area regularly. - Melodycthomas
Aug 2018 - $25.00
It looks like a park trying to make a comeback, then we learned that is exactly the case after closing due to flooding in recent years. Maintenance was needed on many areas, saw 11 cars at maintenance but never saw one person out working in the park. The park could really use a maintenance team to come thru and do lots of little things. Overall nice place to stay, nice to not have to deal with driving motorhome onto base. Staff at desk very friendly. Gate open 24 hours. Park is clean despite being open to military and civilian. Good Mt. Bike trails and horse riding. Booms in the background tank fire, but not loud at all. Lots of full timers that have to move every 30 days, pretty slack on rules, cars and boats and trailers parked everywhere. Nice touch to have laundry, but only one. Good laundry in Belton if here longer. Close to town and base for whatever you need. - 7 on the road
Mar 2013 - $12.00
There are three different campgrounds in this recreation area. This military park is huge and it sits on the shoreline of an equally huge Corp of Engineer lake. Just about every water sport and boating activity is supported at this facility. It is super family friendly because kid's playground equipment is plentiful and there are other "sport fields" on site. Fee based horseback riding is available, natures trails are abundant, and one can bike the place until you are exhausted. It is "pet friendly" in that two of the three CGs are in the woods. The three campgrounds are BLORA RV Park, Deer RV Park, and Cedar RV Park. If you have a "big" rig, as I do, then I would suggest Deer Park because it has 50 amp service and half of the sites are FHU. However, if you choose it and absolutely need satellite reception, I would suggest getting a site that is on the left side in order to avoid a tree blocking issue. With the exception of the tent only sites, the pads of each park are concrete. Almost every site in this huge recreational facility as a covered picnic table, fire ring, and a charcoal BBQ grill. I would estimate that about a third of the sites in all three CGs have a minor front to back leveling issue for longer rigs. Cedar Park has a designated tent only area. Deer RV Park has tent sites mixed with RV sites. Although, they were nice, none of the bath/restroom facilities in each CG are conveniently located in the middle of the campgrounds. I consider the lack of close by trash cans and bath houses a negative. Both of those are what I consider a "hike" to get to. This facility honors the America The Beautiful card. - RLM

We stayed here for 14 days. The park staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. Park was very well maintained, all facilities were clean, and bathrooms somewhat hot, but it's July in Texas. Very nice view of the Lake. Park host was out and about day and night. He kept the park in good order, quiet. Wildlife, deer, birds, armadillo, one fox, feral cats were in the park on quiet days. Lots of tents and boats on weekends, but for the most part, were well mannered! Will be back for sure. - CitizensReflect

Wouldn't recommend. We stayed here very briefly as we were passing through and wanted to visit with some friends and relatives, and we didn't have a pleasant stay. There was no manager on hand and the camp did not have Wi-Fi as advertised. Overall it was a huge hassle, and not worth the price. Plenty of other much nicer parks in the area. - TexasRVing

We wanted a quick on and off I-35 going north. While the lady at the desk was very nice, it was clear the owner couldn't care less about the park. Keys were not available for showers, mostly permanent residents, apparently I-35 will be widened at some point taking over the camp, so there is no effort to improve. Next time we will keep driving. - balfre1946

Okay place, but we do not plan to stay here again. The park didn't seem very clean or nice. Not very classy and pretty sure some of the campers were druggies. We are retired and not young any more and we just felt very unsafe. - TexasRVing
Mar 2008 - $15.00
This park is a quiet place to long-term camp. Owners are very nice and helpful. Most everyone in the campground is long term. Cheap rates, close to recreational lakes and parks. Big Rig capable, but all sites are back in. Sites are gravel, and mostly level some adjustment is needed. Shower and bathhouse on site as well as laundry. Park is not clearly marked, but is near highway 190 and loop 121 interchange. - Travel_RNs

RV park is for patients and patient's family. All sites are back in. Have a few for big rigs but most are for 30' or shorter. Next to the hospital with easy access to entrances in walking distance or can take shuttle Monday through Friday. Able to park on vehicle per site, but other parking is located nearby. Extremely close to shopping and restaurants. Pet friendly, nice laundry, and full service restrooms. The number is for security which you call after you arrive. Park is first come first serve with no reservations. Concrete pads are just wide enough for RV with no patio or picnic tables. Some site connections are at the very front requiring extension of power cords, water hoses, and sewer hoses. Other site connections are located in the middle or rear. Good place to stay when your loved one is in the hospital for an extended period of time. - Msubulldawgnwaco
