Nothing much has changed since the last review. Certainly nothing for the better. Still no facilities such as bathroom, shower, laundry, etc. Beware: Main entry road has tree branches that will scrap most any Class A RV. Will avoid in the future. - User2909
Mar 2011 - $14.00
Above rate reflects monthly rate. Sites are marginal. They are plenty long, but barely wide enough to work, and definitely NOT "nice and level" as previously described. Two or three near the front may be level enough, but all the rest are considerably nose-low, providing problems in leveling even a short Class C, much less a long Class A. All sites would work ok for trailers. With a 40' diesel motorhome, we had to pull much further forward than desirable for utility connections and still had to use a LOT of lumber under front jacks and tires to get level, which then required a wood pallet and concrete blocks to make the elevated entry step height workable. The park manager did help by bringing six concrete patio blocks to the site for our use. A small class C, two spaces over from us had around 8" of wood under the front wheels. The free WiFi was weak and was usable perhaps 50% of the time. It was a dusty month for us with lots of blowing dirt almost daily from the livestock auction/Exposition Center dirt drives and parking lots to the south. We will look for other options on our next visit to the area. - AFChap

Directions could have been clearer. You have to get off of the highway at the appropriate exit. It is a 4 lane divided highway. Small park with shade trees. I don't think the owners are on site. We had to call them to meet us at the park. This is just a place to park. One washer and dryer, no office, no area information, no receipt. They came by for their payment and left. I think the price was a little steep for no perks at all. We would look for another place. - Awesome Navigator

We stayed here for 2+ months while moving. It is very quiet and clean. Beautiful view beside a big pond, free fishing and use of row boat. Pet friendly. Large laundry area that is clean and accessible any time to residents. Ample parking. We even had room for a trailer, moving truck and 2 vehicles to park the night before leaving. The manager was very helpful and kind, always there for any of our questions. Nacogdoches only has a few other RV parks nearby and we looked at them all. None were as nice and spacious. We wanted space, peace, and clean and we got it here. It has a huge pond that you don't see at other area parks. I would happily recommend it and if we ever come back to the area we will stay here again. - Fosterz
Apr 2014 - $35.00
This place is still a dump! We have stayed here before while visiting family in the area but not again. Grass unmowed, grass burrs throughout the park, and utilities dangerous. The list goes on and on. Lots of potential here but nothing is being done to improve things. On the other hand, the sites have a beautiful view of the lake, which is full now. It's heartbreaking to see such a pretty setting not being used. We will not return here. - jayc
Oct 2013 - $32.00
Nice location off Highway 59. The campground has great potential but is a wreck! Two restrooms: One with a door kicked in. Both rated "D" for DISGUSTING! Office is a mess. Entry road is dirt/mud/potholes. Did not feel comfortable/safe. Would avoid if there was another choice. - User2909

As others have noted this is a small, mostly full time park, with a few spots for overnighters. Easy access and long sites will handle big rigs. We came in late and left early so no comment of any facilities. It is conveniently on the highway for an overnight, but likewise if you have problems with noise in your camping unit you will hear it here. - barbielab
Apr 2017 - $25.00
Small park, right off the highway. Clean and neat, with 4 long pull throughs, level. About 8 back ins with mostly full timers. One washer and dryer with a shower in the laundry room. Verizon hotspot 4 bars, T-Mobile 2-3 bars. Convenient stop for an overnight stay. Some trees and grass. - SlowGoin
Apr 2017 - $25.00
WiFi is decent, no restrooms, no cable, small. Nice lady operator who was absent due to family crisis. Grandson came around with receipt. Stayed 2 days. Seemed like several long-termers. - Panochey E

We stayed for a couple nights to get some parts ordered. Basically ok for what we needed. Full hookups but water pressure is low. C C Smokehouse was great place for meal. Also place to pay. - DallasRT
Oct 2016 - $12.00
This park is OK for 1 night. I had a pull thru site that was paved, electricity was good, but the the park roads are bad, and there is a lot trash laying around the park. Would I stay here again, I might. - Joceil
Apr 2015 - $13.00
30 amp at our site was broken but the 50 amp worked fine. It's a good value if you are just passing thru. Sites are close together. Noisy location, easy on-and-off bypass road. We would stay here again if we were passing thru. - lstaff

We made an unexpected stop in Nacogdoches when our trip was delayed by a Check Engine light. We were relieved to find a place to stay on a Saturday night that was flexible with the number of nights we stayed in case we had further issues. The park itself is barren and rocky, and the sites are close together. It appears that many teachers and maybe students from SFA University live in the park FT, though it was so hot outside, we barely saw anyone. Right outside the park is the forest, though, and it's beautiful. And right up the hill on the other side of the office is the Woodland Hills Golf Course. It was already getting dark when we arrived, so we walked a little on the course, and it was just gorgeous. If we hadn't been passing through, we might have stayed and played golf for a couple of days. The park also has a small playground with an old-fashioned swing set, like when we were kids, but not much else. We saw a few dogs but not any children in our short time there. The road getting to the park was a big "exciting": winding and hilly through the woods for what seemed like a mile or so, and then one steep, short hill to get up to the office to check in! I was glad we had a DP! - The Farrells
Apr 2016 - $30.00
Park is primarily full timers and is unkempt and has very few defined sites. It needs TLC . Access road has major pot holes and the roads in the park are not very well defined. WIFI is excellent , but TV is offered if you stay full time. I would not stay there again. Parks like this that charge $30.00 give RV parks a bad name. - johnmack
Dec 2015 - $20.00
This campground has no particularly wonderful facilities, but it is quite inexpensive and certainly adequate. The sites are gravel but wide and easily accessed. Most people in the campground seem to be either workers or students, but that was really not a problem. The Wi-Fi was good and fast, and the laundry was convenient and inexpensive. Our rate reflects a one week stay - basically seven nights for the price of six. We would probably stay here again. - wandrr

Address is 5407 US 59....take Stallings rd exit signs to Rv park front g on US 59.....All grass sites trimmed, gravel road. Park is a full timers park about 1/3 empty. We had pull thru right in front of office. No cable but 50 amps, sewer and water. Level and spacious sites. We were the only motorhome. Very nice owner... - Oooooooo
Jul 2017 - $30.00
Nothing fancy, just a place to stay overnight. A little highway noise. Our Garmin GPS could not find the park. The owner came and got us from a nearby gas station. Trees are planted, but not yet big enough for shade. - geode
Sep 2015 - $27.00
The new owner of this park lives onsite and is very nice. The price includes free excellent wifi and many cable channels. 50 amp service. Easy access from the road, level sites. Very clean grounds, well cared for. Call for directions the gps will take you to the wrong location. The park is close to the road, some noise but not excessive. My bedroom fan cancels the noise which slows down at night. We stayed three nights, felt very safe and would definetly stay here again. There are some long term trailers, but no messes. Nice place to walk the pets. - Janefairlight

Dec 2018 - $24.00
Privacy, a quiet rest for the night, natural beauty, wildlife and the majesty of the tall pines of east Texas. This park was rejuvenating. It is so different from the run-of-the-mill Commercial Park- spacious, treed, laid-back and clean, functional facilities without the flash and bluster of fancier places. We were so far from the noisy roadways and Interstates; we slept deeply and well for the first time in a long time under the most resplendent display of stars in the darkest of skies. Our pull-through site was long and relatively level (minor adjustments only). We pulled sixteen channels in high definition TV over the air. Water and electricity were reliable. No working Wi-Fi, but our Verizon hot spot covered both computer and phone needs. There is a rec center, pavilion, hiking trails, bath house, laundry and restrooms. We could see only wilderness out our windows in site 14 A. It was like dry camping in a 38 ft. RV. If you don't like the outdoors, you will want to pass this one by. If you do like the outdoors, try to find a way to stop at Camp Tonkawa Springs. - TMN-15
Jan 2018 - $38.00
This was a stopp over camping destination. Fulll hook up good. Good Roads and level sites were somewhat lacking. Some permanent campers were somewhat scary, police even came on one day in response to threatening girlfriend. I'm sure that camper has been asked to leave. Trash in quite a few places but this was off season so I'd hope this would be cleaned before summer camping begins. I could imagine this would be a great family camping destination during warm weather for swimming. - Klmn
Dec 2017 - $12.00
Great park but could use some grading and overall cleanup. Lots are spacious and some offer shade. Site surface is gravel. - DallasRT

Located beside the highway but there was no noticeable road noise. We camped here for 3 nights over Fathers Day weekend whilst wending our way north. A lovely pool and the owners were very friendly. Check in was easy. We encountered a few ants here and feel that the grounds need to be treated for ants/bugs. The grounds need to be maintained more and certainly more attention to detail overall. At $44 per night (with KOA discount) this is overpriced. The edges of roadways and pads need attention/trimming. The laundry needs TLC - cleaning of machines, floors, etc. - OzFrosty
Jul 2017 - $41.00
Arrived after hours, Had to use our GPS due to the road construction, but came right to the park. Easy check in was cash in envelope box. Easily found our site; very level concrete, long pull thru with full hook ups. Some shade in afternoon from huge pecan tree next to office and our awning. Morning was very bright, hot sun, but we only camped for one night. Sites were widely spaced, so plenty of room to plant some fast growing pine trees. Grass needed to be mowed between the sites. Adjacent to highway, but didn't hear much noise. - Texas E-S
Aug 2016 - $38.00
We were only here for 1 night thankfully. 3 restrooms: 1 stays locked for handicapped people only, 1 had the commode stopped up, and the 3rd was working but there was no toilet paper. Also, our neighbor had a large dog that made large deposits that the owner did not pick up, so I told the office. They told him to pick it up but he only made a halfhearted attempt at it. Many long term people here as I saw a kid about 8 or 9 coming home from school. Actually, just a typical KOA which is all about the dollar. Water pressure was just adequate and voltage was good. We would not stay here again. - zrxh14

Jun 2017 - $20.00
There were 2 travel trailers here when we pulled in. They both look like long term. Park is very simple, no frills, perfect for an overnight stay. We appear to be the only visitor today, but it is Wednesday so that may have something to do with it. There are 10 back-in sites and 10 pull-through sites. There are 2 available back-in concrete pads and 2 available pull-through concrete slabs. We are in a 34 foot motorhome with a toad and to get the toad out of the drive way we had to pull forward so that the front wheels of the moho are off the slab. Longer rigs would definitely have the front wheels off unless they park their toad in front. Also the park is right next to Highway 59 so the truck traffic is pretty noisy. However, these things are not meant to be negative. Frontier RV Park is perfect for an overnight stay. Verizon non-existent, but AT&T is strong. - FnEJ
Feb 2016 - $20.00
We stayed one night. The park has 10 pull-thrus (3 with cement pads) and 10 back-ins (4 with cement pads), all w/FHU. Internal roads were dirt. It had rained & there were deep ruts on the dirt and around our site. Pad was level but too short for our 40' motorhome & tow. Water pressure was high - need pressure regulator. No shade yet, trees are too young. US 59 is busy at all hours so there was regular traffic noise. There's no park office. One of the full-timers who lives in the park will greet you (if he's there) and collect your money. If he's not there, just park in a site and he'll collect the fee when he gets back. We paid cash but they also take credit cards. It's a bare bones campground - no off leash dog park, no playground, no cable or wifi. No picnic table or fire ring on the sites. A trash dumpster isn't readily obvious either. The price is great for an overnight. I'd stay here again. - Flippitti
Apr 2014 - $20.00
Stayed here a week. New concrete pads with excellent utility hookups. There were 3 full timers friendly but kept to themselves. Excellent location with easy off and on access to US Hwy 59 between Shreveport and Houston. - M Masters
