Oct 2017 - $17.00
This is an older park, but up to date with utilities. The pull through site was fairly level and long enough for our 36' plus tow. Just needed an overnight, but would stay again. - Lke
Oct 2013 - $17.00
I'd stay here again if I needed to. I didn't even ask for the discount Pass Port America. They had WI-FI, but didn't us it. My satellite did get reception. I could see if you where in first 4 site you might not. I felt like sites where fairly level - better than most of Texas State Parks. I would tell a friend about the place. For a couple nights stay it would be okay. - JustDon
Mar 2012 - $13.00
This place is about 2 steps up from a Walmart parking lot but at $12.50 Passport America rate I guess you get what ya pay for. That may be degrading a Walmart parking lot but it does have water 50amp electric and sewer. Sites are really tight and water hookups are a little inconvenient. Not too level and I backed out of the pull through site I was in as the exit was through a small ditch. Lots of permanent folks. They say there is Wi-Fi but I couldn't get it to work. I might for someone else. Good AT&T cell phone reception and a couple of TV stations off the antenna. Dish would be a real pain to put out due to trees blocking signal. - nedmtnman
Sep 2018 - $25.00
This was our first time at Daingerfield State Park. The staff that checked us in was very helpful. We had reservations in the Big Pine Premium Site area. We were assigned Site 7 which is probably the choice site. The site was level and easy to get in and out with a nice view of the lake. The shore was covered with Lilly Pads and fishing was not possible but the site was great. The sewer connection was a few inches above the ground level but caused little problem. We will return. - grs1950
Apr 2018 - $25.00
We got to the campground around 12:30. Went in and a very nice park employee was working (believe her name was Ms Wolf). in all the years I have never had such a nice helpful and courteous front desk person. Very knowledgeable and was very helpful in getting us the right site. If you are here and she is worki g thank her for her service. Now about the park the pull through site was level but a little tight but what a view of the lake!!! We have decided this is one of our favorite parks. - Stujan
Apr 2018 - $25.00
With advanced FHU reservations made 90 days prior to arrival for a 2-night stay, we arrived on a week day while rangers were out to lunch, so we proceeded to Big Pine Camping Area, selected site #10 along the lake and close to toilet/shower house. dumpster, and camp hosts. Narrow asphalt pull-thru site slopped towards lake making leveling with drive-on blocks necessary. Huge site under tall pines with pines needles underfoot and one fantastic view of the lake with lots of vegetation between us and the next site. Fairly quiet as mostly older adults and few children filling campsites. Significant drop-off from the asphalt surface down onto the pine needles. Park entrance gate closed at 10pm requiring access code to enter throughout night. Firewood for a donation available at park entrance office. Big negative on site #10 was that the camp host directly across the road had a spot flood light illuminating their CAMP HOST sign which burned all night long! - napunani
Jan 2012 - $25.00
Gravel roads, grassy sites. Playground equipment for kids, covered pavilion, Clean laundry. Huge sites approximately 40'x75'. Plenty of elbow room and grass for our dog. Owners have their home on site. We will stay here again. - Herb Stark
Nov 2012 - $13.00
Average overnight park. Level sites on pull throughs with good hookups, good cable TV and Wi-Fi. The only downside is the highway noise though it isn't bad at night. I would stay here again. Price is PA at 30 amp. - nedmtnman
Oct 2012 - $25.00
Very basic RV park; OK for overnight. Many long term residents with diesel trucks starting up early in the morning. Off the interstate which helped with road noise; however, this park is somewhat difficult to locate at night as entrance is not well marked. Roads need to be regraded and sites re-graveled. Next time we will go on elsewhere. - andrews4
Nov 2011 - $35.00
We really enjoyed our initial stay. A quiet campground with friendly owners and staff. Cable TV has about 70 channels at no extra charge. Nice large enclosed dog run. We will return again. - RedSoloCup
Jan 2019 - $55.00
We stopped here overnight during a rain storm. The roads were VERY tight for big rigs, muddy and messy! While the restrooms were clean, they were very outdated and old. One of the sinks actually rusted right through and needs to be replaced. I thought that for the money spent per night, they could update the restrooms. The manager/owners were disgruntled and unfriendly. I would use this as a last resort for an overnight stop. - SewBzzzy
Jul 2018 - $40.00
Great campground. Sites are long, wide, and very level. Park was well kept and owners were very helpful. Will definitely stay on our way back. Very clear cable TV. - retiredmama
Jun 2018 - $39.00
Stayed one night, great place for stop over. Second time we have stayed here and will stay again in future. Many longtime campers here, just good hard working people you know. Staff very friendly and helpful. Power was good, free cable TV, Water pressure good, and pad was great. - Robert and Monica
Jan 2019 - $15.00
A quiet spot on a beautiful lake. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. Full hook ups. gravel pull through site was level with easy access. We called ahead and received specific access and parking instructions. Enjoyed our one night stay and would use this park again. - Cancamper
Oct 2018 - $14.00
Very nice park on a beautiful lake. Excellent wifi, cable available. Water, electric and sewer no problems. Fishing off the boat docks. Very peaceful place with tall trees and teeming with squirrels. Thursday nights they have a bonfire, bring a couple of brews and meet your neighbors. The owners are very hospitable friendly folks. One of the best parks we've stayed in a year of full timing. A great place to stay for a relaxed, low stress stay. - Oltrucker
Mar 2018 - $30.00
We stayed in this beautiful RV campground in a 5th wheel for one week and will definitely come back. Numerous sites by the lake and even large pull thorough sites, all accommodating full hookups. Daily walks to the boathouse, piers, and the awesome nightly campfires make this campground a must see. Truly a best kept secret in eastern Texas. - Don & Dona
Sep 2018 - $19.00
Good place to stop for a night or two. Plenty of room for our 44 footer plus toad. Stayed another night on our way back from the rally we attended. - David and Debbie
Apr 2017 - $30.00
With Passport America this was an awesome value-- $15! Very clean and we'd kept. Pretty quiet at night. Easy in and out. Pull thrus. - ronrhonda
Nov 2016 - $19.00
Rate was with Passport America. Long level pull-thru. Site that we had did not have any trees and thus no leaves, hooray! Water, sewer and electric connections were nicely grouped and set up. Cable requires a cable box. We've done it before with a cable from the connection, through a partially open window to the cable box and a second cable from the cable box back out the window to the cable input on the coach. No bathrooms. Some road noise. Good wifi. Very easy in and out. Grass strip between sites. Wasn't muddy when it rained. - Markk
Sep 2018 - $13.00
ANTS! Diatomaceous earth didn't even help. We had to be connected to the truck and raise our jacks and stabilizers. Billions of ants invaded our trailer. We could not enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Other campers had ants too. They also invaded the area where we tried to barbecue. Shaded by trees but not dark. Narrow, tight roads in need of repair. Electric and water good. Good, easy to access dump station. Decent over-the-air TV. - ClayLady
Sep 2018 - $13.00
Campground host not very good. Asked for a pull thru site and he said no problem. When we got to the site it was a pull through but not for a 36' MH+toad. We called and asked if we could use another site across the road, he said OK. After we set up and got settled had a knock on the door. The site had been reserved and the person wanted his site. Mistake on the CG Host part. The guy wouldn't take any other site so we had to pack up and move. Then the Host came and asked for another $1. We were now on a premium site, what made it premium we don't know. Paid the $1. This CG Host was the worst we have ever encountered, totally incapable of the job. CG was very quiet but not near the water which disappointed us. Many trees, no sat service due to trees, OTA good. - Wandering
Jun 2018 - $13.00
This campground is a 10 for natural beauty, peace and quiet, good campsites and the lake. If you are looking for fancy facilities, crowds, or TV then look elsewhere. The whole CG is wooded and shady, with a view of the lake through the trees from most sites. Sites are spacious, with asphalt parking, water and electricity, picnic tables, grills and fire rings. Some have 50 amp electric but many have only 30. They appear to mostly be longer than listed on the reservation site. Ours was listed at 55 feet but was much longer. We could easily have parked another vehicle or boat trailer in addition to the 40-foot MH and toad. There was also ample extra parking scattered throughout the CG, and a boat ramp at the end of the CG road. Not many spaces here, but it was nearly empty midweek. I suspect it gets full weekends, so make a reservation on recreation.gov. The gate attendant was friendly and full of useful information. Did not use the bathrooms or showers, but I looked in the men's and it was typical COE, good facilities and clean as it could be. You probably won't get any TV there, but Verizon cell and internet service worked. Also a great value, especially with a park pass. - JA1800
Jun 2016 - $33.00
Arrival: You have to travel 18 miles south to get there but it just may be worth it
Roads: Excellent all the way coming and going. Except... we called the site owner in advance and she told us not to follow the GPS. So true. Drive in to Pittsburg and then approach from the south. I drove the GPS road in my TOAD and thought I was going to die!
Sites: Excellent. Plenty of space and well maintained. Full hookups. DISH by every site... but you have to pay huge to get it running.
Cost: $32.50. Website says there are discounts -- none. Park owner's excuse is that she can't update the site.
Local Area: Rural. You have to drive back to Mt Pleasant to get anything you really need.
Internet: Advertized free internet -- false. Limited cell phone reception. Clear views of all skies and/or plug into DISH.
Other: One dumpster at the end of the park. Inconvenient. Many excuses for not delivering on advertised amenities. We will not stay there again. - JC Penny
Apr 2016 - $33.00
Nice quiet park about 2 miles from Lake Bob Sandlin. I was on the only cement pad in the park on Site 17. Electricity, water and sewer connections are at the back of the site. Be careful pulling into sites because of this. Roads are gravel in the park and a little narrow. Sites are kind of close together but not on top of each other. Verizon service is 3 bars sometimes, but mostly 2 bars or less. Wi-Fi was not working during my stay, they said it was "hung up". Owners are very friendly. They are improving amenities in the park continuously. There are picnic tables in a pavilion in the park and they have just completed a nice large pet park. Area is still a little muddy when it rains, but they are working on landscaping in the park. Entrance drive to the park is a little obscured by some trees and it narrow. I would stay here again. - Paul_L63
Sep 2015 - $15.00
We were transferred to Pittsburg with my husband's job. The owner was very friendly. The spaces were tight, but very long pull thrus, allowing ample parking for both our vehicles. There were small shade trees. The park was located in a very beautiful, hilly area, making the drive a very pleasant one. The Laundry room was very nice and the shower house was clean and nice as well. The park was fairly new and immaculate. We were there only 5 months and would definitely stay there again. - Sharon Henderson
