Overall Rating:

We spent 3 months during the winter at this campground paying a monthly rate plus electricity. The rate reflects the daily average cost with our electricity costs included and is much higher when the weather warms up. This campground is located on Lake Livingston and has wonderful views. There are long term/seasonal campers with well kept sites but there are plenty of travelers and weekend campers visiting too. There is a combination of back in and pull through sites. Campground staff was very pleasant and hardworking and the condition of the campground reflects all their effort. Restauarant on site with ok food and great pie and it is popular with the local community. Bathhouses are older but clean-did not use the laundry facilities. WiFi did not seem to work well but Verizon service was good. We will return to this campground. We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Huntsville is about 30 miles away and provides some shopping and dining opportunities. Livingston is about 15 miles away with a very crowded Walmart. Try McKenzie's in Huntsville for great BBQ and Florida's Kitchen in Livingston.

Tiffin Rally, stayed here numerous times. Very well maintained park, concrete streets and sites, grass, wonderful views of Lake Onalaska and sunsets, beach, spacious sites. Not much to do in the small town or immediate area but grocery shopping, resale shops, local hangouts. Fishing is big here. WiFi was strong. Power consistent. Cable had over 100 channels, Razor Winguard antenna picked up about 10 channels but nontrees to block the Direct tv reception. Excellent on site restaurant..fabulous homemade pies...polite staff and grounds crew...coming back for FMCA Rally in May... We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Motorhome.

local mom\pop type stores in small villages, but Walmart, HEB not too far away. Quiet even thou the park is just off the road and Cambridge across lake...huge trees with moss hanging but not enough to be shady or block a Sat...lots of drift wood on beach..nice big pool and cool versed pavilion overlooking the lake...

Overall Rating:

Stayed here Dec & Jan, monthly rate $375 + power. Beautiful location with wonderful lake views, marina & restaurant. Terrific staff, very helpful & responsive, garbage pick-up at your site daily. Some roads need repair, but all were paved, except one small area near cabins. Sites were cement, some spots with small cement patio area, not all sites had fire pit. Terraced sites so most have some lake view. Good space between sites. Wifi wasn't great but we use cell data, so no issues. Excellent satellite reception & the campground cable worked well. Stable 50 amp power & good water pressure. Older washroom & shower buildings, but clean enough. Pool & hot tub not open in winter. Small laundry area for a park this size, only 3 washers & 4 dryers. Quite close to Hwy 190 so access is good & some highway noise during the day. We also had a boat in marina with good lifts to keep boat out of water & no charge for boat trailer parking. Occasional noisy barking dogs on neighboring properties. Some full-timers but all sites were neat & tidy, everyone was friendly. Would definitely stay here again if we're in the area. We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park with a great location to explore the Lake Livingston area. The reservation and check-in process was smooth, with an efficient and knowledgeable staff. Roads in the site are concrete and asphalt. It is big-rig friendly, but some of the turns in the "Tall Timbers" section are tight for bigger rigs. If you take it slow you will be OK. Also, some of the asphalt sections on the hills tend to get chewed up by the rigs but they get repaired quickly. Most sites are level with the exception of some of the sites at the bottom of the hill in the Tall Timbers section. We had to place blocks and take several trys to get the auto-level to work. There is ample space between sites. Sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Satellite service and Verizon cell phone service were both good. The park provides cable and that worked very well. Wi-fi can be spotty, but was better than most parks. The park has wonderful views of Lake Livingston, a clean, safe beach, a pool that is well-cared for, and an on site restaurant that is open some nights of the week and weekends. The park staff is very attentive to needs. Trash is picked up daily, the grass is cut, and rules are enforced. We had a relaxing time here and enjoyed the views and pool. We will definately return. We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Local shopping is available for food in Onalaska. You may want to consider driving to Huntsville for supplies as that town has bigger and better stores. Try the Blue Duck in Livingston for a great meal, especially if you like Pork Chops. Indian Hill restaurant has good food and is a great place to watch sunsets on Lake Livingston.

Overall Rating:

we have been here a few times in recent years and wanted to come back for a multiple day stay. Our timing was perfect. In May, they were having a stay 3 days during the week (Sun-Thu) for the price of a 2 day stay. As usual, we were in the Tall Timbers section in a level, FHU, pull-through site near the bathrooms and laundry building. There are 2 other bathhouses in the park. The cable TV was good and our site was satellite friendly. Possibly because the park was not full, the Wi-Fi worked OK for our minimal (e-mail and web surfing) needs. In addition to being on the lake, there is a nice pool, a marina, a beach, and a restaurant. Once again, I see no recycling. Even at the normal rates, this park is worth it. We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Motorhome.

I was directed to travel along the road adjacent to sites 75 to 79, go past site 81 and back in to that site. That was impossible with a 45' DP. In trying to get past site 81, my tail pipe was on the ground and I had to remove the hitch for my tow car...it was stuck on the ground. I had to maneuver around, get the tail pipe free, the hitch off and go forward up and down two streets so I was heading west, then could back in without a problem. This has happened before, there are several scrapes and one deep gouge in the concrete. However, there was not room enough to comfortably park the tow car. Also, the tow cars parked in sites 79 and 80 blocked each other in with their tow cars. We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Motorhome.

This is one of the nicest camps we've stayed in and the value is excellent. Great family place. Spots are concrete and they all look level. Picnic table and hook ups good. Have cable. It was spotless. We did not hear traffic. We were in the Timberland part. This place is a Gem!!! We arrived after the office was closed and our packet was on the wall. Easy in and out! Don't miss this one. Pretty views of the lake. Dog area and great walking. We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Rate was for weekly stay (stay 6 nights and get the 7th free). This is by far the nicest KOA we have been to. It's located right on the shore of Lake Livingston and the views of the lake and sunset are spectacular. All sites are FHU with nearly 100 channels of cable included. Excellent Verizon signal. We stayed in site 38, a back-in site in the Tall Timbers section of the campground. This section is the farthest from the water but sits on a terraced hill to take advantage of the views. Interior roads are a bit tight, so you'll need to watch the turns to avoid scraping your tires on the curbs. Otherwise the campground is open with no trees to maneuver around. There is a fair amount of separation between sites, and each site has a fire ring and picnic table. You do get quite a bit of road noise from Highway 190, especially from the semis that frequent this road. You will get the least amount of road noise in the Surfside section since it's the furthest away from the highway. The KOA has nice amenities such as a pool/hot tub, small beach/swimming area on the lake, clubhouse, cabins, playground, volleyball court, tetherball, two boat ramps, fishing piers and a nice restaurant on site. There were plenty of individual private bathroom/showers, which were cleaned daily. They also have a nice laundry area with 3 washers and 4 dryers which worked well. The downside to this KOA is that they don't enforce their rules. We were kept awake until after 3:00 a.m. by our neighbors who were getting drunk, being loud and playing music. We were told by staff that we should call the police and that they have no one patrolling the campground during quiet hours. They also did nothing about the same neighbor who parked multiple vehicles in their site, one of which was inches from our slide and parked on our grass. On a positive note, the staff did allow us to use their ladder after a terrible storm came through that destroyed our awning. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would probably stay here again. We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a restaurant on site called Farmhouse on the Lake. The food is decent, but they are only open Thursday through Saturday (not sure if they have different summer hours). Walmart is 13 miles away in Livingston, but Brookshire Brothers grocery is located just outside of the campground.

The town has a grocery but not much else but 12 miles is Livingston. Best restaurant in area is here on the property overlooking the lake and marina. only 1 issue. The bridge highway 190 near by across the lake carries a lot of commercial traffic so there is a noise from it. Nice pool and grounds. Many 5 th wheel full timers. We were here with a Tiffin rally.

This was our second stay at the campground. Sites/roads are paved. We stayed in Site 53, which is a pull thru, level, with a patio and picnic table. The site did face the setting sun, which made sitting outside uncomfortable in the summer heat. Restroom/Showers are unisex, they were clean in the morning, but became less so during the day. Pool was adequate and there is a lake swimming area. Kids enjoyed bank fishing and actually caught a few fish. There is an onsite restaurant that gets good reviews. We would stay here again. This is a very well maintained, family oriented campground. Staff at check in were helpful and friendly. Interior roads are concrete and big rig access was average. The campground is terraced and nicely landscaped, we had a lovely pull in site with a pretty view over Lake Livingston in the Surfside section with plenty of space for our towed, a lovely shade tree and a fire ring, but not much privacy. Our concrete pad was wide and level and had a patio with a picnic table. However, we were allocated site 74 which has a buddy site 74a at right angles to it which is only about 40' long. On day 3 inexplicably a 35' fifth wheel and truck were allocated this site which made it impossible to get our coach out and made it difficult to maneuver our small towed in and out, we had to ask the truck owner to move when we left the following morning. The park was half empty at the time so there was no need to use this site, this rig was obviously way too big for the site. I pointed out to the office staff that site 74a was not capable of accommodating a rig much over 40' in overall length without restricting access to site 74, which points to inexperienced staff not understanding the site layout. Hopefully they will take note and adjust their booking systems accordingly. Until then beware if you are allocated site 74.

We were here over the weekend, so it was pretty noisy with lots of kids, radios blaring and boats on the water. If we stayed here again it would only be during the week when hopefully much quieter, and only for a couple of days at most. The bathrooms were modern but the one I used was dirty and had no toilet paper! The one laundry although clean, did not have enough washers and dryers for a campground of this size. There was no security gate and we saw a lot of folk just driving through to check out the campground. Pet friendly with a Kamp K9, pet walk and doggie bags with a disposal station. Wifi and AT&T were good. We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Motorhome.

Once again (see my 10/16 review for a more detailed review), we had an enjoyable stay at this park. Although on the expensive side, there are FHU sites with cable and WiFi. The pool and the lakeside setting offer plenty of recreational opportunities. We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Motorhome.

We were here a couple years ago and were happy to return. There are 3 sections of the park: Surfside down by the lake and pool is all back ins, Bridgepark by the lake and large boating parking area is also all back ins, and Tall Timbers in the terraced are away fro the lake by with great views is mostly pull through sites. There are also 4 cabins in the Surfside asrea. We had a FHU, gravel, pull through in Tall Timbers. Our site was right next to the main bathhouse (there are other bathrooms at the clubhouse and near the office) and laundry (only 3 of each machine) but that was not a problem because there were only about 20 RVs in the park. The cable TV is over 60 channels but we are still in the TV channel censorship area of the country - so no Comedy Central. Many sites appear to be satellite friendly. The Wi-Fi provider is the hated Tengo but it was worked OK since the park was fairly empty. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed the day we were here. The staff I dealt with was friendly and helpful. I saw no sign of any recycling. The price is a bit high but this is a very nice, well run KOA.
