Oct 2018 - $16.00
We were looking for an overnight spot that was a little more scenic than the normal parks in East Texas. We found Barefoot Bay through our Passport America app. The rate was listed as $14.5 - $19.50. From Google Maps it looked like a good spot. We paid $15.50 for the night which was a good deal for us. At check in the woman was friendly, but another came in and stated that when she saw how many cars were in the parking lot she wanted to go back home (this is there slow time of year, we were told). I guess she does not enjoy her job. There were not that many people there so not sure what she was referring to. Yes, guests are listening to what is being said! We are full-timers in our eleventh year on the road. We recently purchased our third rig, a Tiffin Allegro Open Road. We are still getting used to its handling abilities but found the roads in the park rough and rutted - lots of RV sway. There was plenty of room to navigate in the big pull-throughs area. The site was long and level and the services were adequate. The park does state WiFi at the office so we were not counting on that. We use our own service anyway. At the time of our stay, most of the RV's were permanent residents. The park says no R's over ten years old unless approved by management. Some RVs were black with mold, ACs hanging out windows and sidewalls, and stuff piled around the RVs. No big deal for us but some RVers don't feel the same way. We enjoyed sitting by the lake watching a few boats come and go on a nice afternoon that was in the upper sixties. The views are pretty, for East Texas. - Howard Jaros

Very friendly, beautiful area, grounds were very well maintained!! - Krista G Cook
Aug 2017 - $89.00
We love this camp ground, we keep our camper here full time set up. We dont live in it full time. Its so nice to just load our vehicle up and just drive 2 hours & it's ready to go. We come here to unwind, relax after a crazy week of work. We never worry about it, it is watched while we are gone. The sites are clean, treated for fire ants & other little bugs. They have a fenced dog yard, gas station, propane station, boat ramp, paddle boat rental, canoe rental, bait shop, fishing all over the area. There is a little store with the basics, wine & beer. They also have cabins. The bathrooms, showers & laundry rooms are very clean. This is my home away from home. Walmart is only 13 miles away, nice little restraunts around if you want to go out & a wine vineyard not to far away, Los Pinos. I would recomend this campground to anyone.. - H Davidson

Jun 2016 - $33.00
Arrival: You have to travel 18 miles south to get there but it just may be worth it
Roads: Excellent all the way coming and going. Except... we called the site owner in advance and she told us not to follow the GPS. So true. Drive in to Pittsburg and then approach from the south. I drove the GPS road in my TOAD and thought I was going to die!
Sites: Excellent. Plenty of space and well maintained. Full hookups. DISH by every site... but you have to pay huge to get it running.
Restrooms: Reasonable.
Cost: $32.50. Website says there are discounts -- none. Park owner's excuse is that she can't update the site.
Local Area: Rural. You have to drive back to Mt Pleasant to get anything you really need.
Internet: Advertized free internet -- false. Limited cell phone reception. Clear views of all skies and/or plug into DISH.
Other: One dumpster at the end of the park. Inconvenient. Many excuses for not delivering on advertised amenities. We will not stay there again. - JC Penny
Apr 2016 - $33.00
Nice quiet park about 2 miles from Lake Bob Sandlin. I was on the only cement pad in the park on Site 17. Electricity, water and sewer connections are at the back of the site. Be careful pulling into sites because of this. Roads are gravel in the park and a little narrow. Sites are kind of close together but not on top of each other. Verizon service is 3 bars sometimes, but mostly 2 bars or less. Wi-Fi was not working during my stay, they said it was "hung up". Owners are very friendly. They are improving amenities in the park continuously. There are picnic tables in a pavilion in the park and they have just completed a nice large pet park. Area is still a little muddy when it rains, but they are working on landscaping in the park. Entrance drive to the park is a little obscured by some trees and it narrow. I would stay here again. - Paul_L63
Sep 2015 - $15.00
We were transferred to Pittsburg with my husband's job. The owner was very friendly. The spaces were tight, but very long pull thrus, allowing ample parking for both our vehicles. There were small shade trees. The park was located in a very beautiful, hilly area, making the drive a very pleasant one. The Laundry room was very nice and the shower house was clean and nice as well. The park was fairly new and immaculate. We were there only 5 months and would definitely stay there again. - Sharon Henderson

This is a really nice state park. It has two loops that can accommodate big rigs. The sites are large with lots of privacy. There is good Verizon cell service. They have a great swimming area with stairs leading into the water for us old folks. - TEXASBOY
Jun 2017 - $19.00
One of our favorite TX state parks. Hiking trails are great, very good job of eliminating most posion ivy. Trails are very good for children and beginning mountain bikers. we camped in 30' TT, 30 amp. . Very good lighted fishing pier. Very good fishing lake w/ 2 other lakes within 30 minute drive. Restrooms were cleaned every morning, spotless. Good variety of size sites. Only drawback was dogs are not allowed in restrooms are fishing pier. - Kayak54
Dec 2016 - $22.00
Sweet little state park. Paved sites with great space and privacy for most sites. Nice walks, including trail system. I was amazed to see rangers and staff walking the loops picking up trash several times over the period of just one day. Only negative would be that some sites are on the short side and would be difficult for anything longer than 30 or 35 feet. - aowcarol

Walleye Park on Lake Cypress Springs is operated by Franklin County Water District. There are 72 RV sites (54 50A/water and 18 50A/water/sewer). All sites have lake access. There is a boat dock for every two sites. Large trees and shade. The new sites with sewer (55-72) have large concrete pads and are $50/night with 3 night minimum for reservations. Non-sewer sites (1-54) are $30/night with 3 night minimum for reservations. Good WiFi and cell service. Beautiful park. I am surprised it has not been reviewed previously on RVPR. We were in full hook-up site #60. Best full hookup sites are #'s 65 and 69. - drfife

Nov 2012 - $13.00
Average overnight park. Level sites on pull throughs with good hookups, good cable TV and Wi-Fi. The only downside is the highway noise though it isn't bad at night. I would stay here again. Price is PA at 30 amp. - nedmtnman
Oct 2012 - $25.00
Very basic RV park; OK for overnight. Many long term residents with diesel trucks starting up early in the morning. Off the interstate which helped with road noise; however, this park is somewhat difficult to locate at night as entrance is not well marked. Roads need to be regraded and sites re-graveled. Next time we will go on elsewhere. - andrews4
Nov 2011 - $35.00
We really enjoyed our initial stay. A quiet campground with friendly owners and staff. Cable TV has about 70 channels at no extra charge. Nice large enclosed dog run. We will return again. - RedSoloCup

Jan 2019 - $55.00
We stopped here overnight during a rain storm. The roads were VERY tight for big rigs, muddy and messy! While the restrooms were clean, they were very outdated and old. One of the sinks actually rusted right through and needs to be replaced. I thought that for the money spent per night, they could update the restrooms. The manager/owners were disgruntled and unfriendly. I would use this as a last resort for an overnight stop. - SewBzzzy
Jul 2018 - $40.00
Great campground. Sites are long, wide, and very level. Park was well kept and owners were very helpful. Will definitely stay on our way back. Very clear cable TV. - retiredmama

Dec 2009 - $15.00
This is an old run down RV park that is well past its prime. Owner was nice enough but place is not ready for customers. No bathrooms or showers, and old paved roads and parking spots. This park is adjacent to an abandoned truck stop of days gone by. This area my have thrived at one time but no longer. We almost left after paying but decided to stay and get some rest. We were the only ones there except for the owner. It had a rather rundown building that had "Coin Laundry" sign on it, but I wouldn't have tried to go in it. I assumed another relic from days gone by. In the end we got a nights sleep but I couldn't wait to get going the next morning. I would not recommend this place to anyone the way it is right now. Not blaming the owners, I assume they are trying to revive the place but it gives a very poor impression and we had little sense of safety or security. We found this place through Passport America. - ThinkingRedInk

Apr 2017 - $30.00
With Passport America this was an awesome value-- $15! Very clean and we'd kept. Pretty quiet at night. Easy in and out. Pull thrus. - ronrhonda
Nov 2016 - $19.00
Rate was with Passport America. Long level pull-thru. Site that we had did not have any trees and thus no leaves, hooray! Water, sewer and electric connections were nicely grouped and set up. Cable requires a cable box. We've done it before with a cable from the connection, through a partially open window to the cable box and a second cable from the cable box back out the window to the cable input on the coach. No bathrooms. Some road noise. Good wifi. Very easy in and out. Grass strip between sites. Wasn't muddy when it rained. - Markk

A quiet spot on a beautiful lake. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. Full hook ups. gravel pull through site was level with easy access. We called ahead and received specific access and parking instructions. Enjoyed our one night stay and would use this park again. - Cancamper
Oct 2018 - $14.00
Very nice park on a beautiful lake. Excellent wifi, cable available. Water, electric and sewer no problems. Fishing off the boat docks. Very peaceful place with tall trees and teeming with squirrels. Thursday nights they have a bonfire, bring a couple of brews and meet your neighbors. The owners are very hospitable friendly folks. One of the best parks we've stayed in a year of full timing. A great place to stay for a relaxed, low stress stay. - Oltrucker
Mar 2018 - $30.00
We stayed in this beautiful RV campground in a 5th wheel for one week and will definitely come back. Numerous sites by the lake and even large pull thorough sites, all accommodating full hookups. Daily walks to the boathouse, piers, and the awesome nightly campfires make this campground a must see. Truly a best kept secret in eastern Texas. - Don & Dona
