Oct 2018 - $10.00
Still a good COE Park but is getting close to needing a makeover on the roads and pads. Also some the trees need to be trimmed above the sites. However still a good value and nice and quiet. Easy to find and easy to maneuver. - tbax46
Mar 2018 - $20.00
Staff was friendly. Our site was absolutely beautiful with a panoramic view of the lake. Wildlife was abundant with fish jumping and herons diving in after them. Boats are present but their noise is barely audible. Night sky conditions were as good as can be expected for a place that close to Dallas. The wide open view away from the city was pleasant. The only knock was that after doing a little cold-water swimming (this lake is colder than surrounding lakes - very refreshing!) we found that the bathroom next to the swim beach had no running water. This might have been because it was not considered "swim season" but a posted notice would be nice. We went to the main shower for our campsite though and found it to be amazingly clean, with lots of hot water. The playground has been removed despite still appearing on recreation.gov maps. The advertised problem with Argentine ants was not to be found at all. Weather was beautiful and none of them showed up. Cell service was good enough with window-mounted antennas - 8mb down with Verizon and 20mb down with AT&T. Over all the minor issues do not detract much from the overall positive rating. We only stayed here for an night and are looking forward to returning. - KalifG
Jul 2017 - $10.00
Beautiful lake, quiet, never crowded (we've only been there on weekdays). Room for our 45' motor home. Water & 30/50 amp, dump station. - TJJ

Excellent park if you do not need the bathrooms, they are in disrepair. Would be a 10 if they would do some work on them. I'll come back. - padlin00
Mar 2017 - $20.00
Me and my husband stayed the weekend at this beautiful gem of a park. Spacious camp sites. We stayed at #4 site. Plenty of privacy for us. Few dogs barking but that was ok. Drive way is steep so I suggest to go up it carefully. The bathrooms are bathrooms. They were ok. Will definitely be back. Adorable Picnic cover on concrete pad with table!! - Chuck and Teresa
Nov 2016 - $7.00
It was a really nice spot, but the electrical box was confusing. The 30 amp had a breaker, plus there was a 50 amp breaker. But we had no electricity first night because we didn't realize you had to flip the 50 amp breaker to get juice to the 30 amp outlet. Some say that is a dangerous combo.
Also, they have an infestation of ants. They gave us some spray, which we used around the tires and jacks, but it rained, and we forgot to spray. Thus, ants invaded the trailer and crawled on my face in the night. Not pleasant. - Martha Goudey

Nov 2018 - $30.00
This was our second stay at his park as it is convenient to our travels from home to Bowling Green. The folks in the office are friendly, efficient and provide excellent service and information. The park is clean, sites are concrete pads with lots of grass, easy to maneuver even with a rig plus trailer that is 70' long. Dog park is clean and stocked with doggie bags. There is at least one other pole near a large area of grass with dog bags and a trash can. There appear to be a lot of full-timers but there sites are clean and reasonably uncluttered. The only negative to the park is that the full-timers start departing the park at 0600 and many drive very loud diesel pickups. The park is just off Hwy 31 on the west side of Corsicana but there is very little traffic noise. The rate is extremely reasonable for what you get. - Don & Candy
Sep 2018 - $29.00
Very nice reception staff. Long pull thru. Just a 1 nighter did not unhook the tow.. - Oooooooo
Aug 2018 - $30.00
If coming down I-45, you have to drive through Corsicana to get to the RV park, but it wasn't difficult even for our Class A. Navigation in the park is easy. We were only staying one night, but they gave us a nice pull-through right along the road you end up on when you turn into the park. We got there late and left early and never saw the office people, but we dealt with them on the phone and they were very nice. The site (#50) had a nice tree, some grass and plenty of room for slide-outs, and was mostly level. There was no picnic table or firepit/grill at our site. The restrooms were large and clean and the laundry was nice, too. We were able to get Verizon and T-Mobile, but didn't try the antenna. Granted it was just for one night, but we thought the park was clean, well ordered with good sites and hook-ups. We'd stay there again if in the area. - RobtL

Jun 2016 - $35.00
Beautiful sunsets. Quiet. Relaxing. Excellent boat ramp. Store available for last minute items, sells live bait. Can fish on site. Friendly service. Enjoyed our stay. - tiger2pooh1
Sep 2015 - $85.00
The good... The boat ramp is easily accessible. The restaurant on site is decent for burgers and hot breakfast.
The bad...The spots are very small. No space between them. The grounds have a large number of cats roaming free so everything outside smells like a kitty litter box....basically because it is. I cleaned up cat mess every day to keep the smell down. There are quite a few long term residents and they let their dogs do their business wherever they feel like. Nasty and I had to keep my dogs in the trailer the whole weekend because of the cats everywhere.
Giant cockroaches got into everything. Need I say more? - Akrbrsn
Apr 2014 - $35.00
The new owners took over this park last April. They have improved the boat ramp to handle three boats at the same time. The lake is 7.5 feet low, but we saw a 25' party barge launch with no problems. We stayed in site #1, which is waterfront and the sunsets were awesome. They have fishing, paddle boats to rent, shaded sites, live bait, and a small general store. The bath houses were small, but clean. They plan to add additional restrooms, cabins, laundry, and grill, later. Corsicana is about twenty minutes away, so plan on bringing your groceries with you. They do allow campfires and grills. This is a gem in the making. - timetokill

Jul 2007 - $16.00
This is a nice park close enough to the Dallas area for a weekend getaway. We stayed for two nights, and the park was nice and quiet. There is not much to do there, but it is a great place to get away if that is what you are looking for. - Aggiepi
Apr 2006 - $16.00
There are 3 parks at Bardwell Lake available for camping. We camped at Mott Park and had a nice lakefront site, which we were able to select online. Even though it was a holiday weekend, the spaces are far enough apart that it did not seem crowded or noisy. Some sites require a lot of leveling, and some are 30-amp only, but the reservation system will tell you this. This is a no-frills park, but the scenery is lovely and a perfect getaway if you want to just get out of town, enjoy nature, and relax. - Lucydog

This is a great little COE. We had a back in site on the water that accommodated our 41ft 5th wheel, truck and a small SUV. Electric and water services were fine. No sewer connections but. It a big deal for a short stay. It's about 10 minutes or less off of I45. Very quite. - OpenRoadJedi

Nice Park on Lake Bardwell near Ennis, TX. One of the bathhouses was closed for repairs. - Alicenpete
Jun 2017 - $8.00
This is the most poorly maintained COE we have stayed at. Our site was fine but had not been mowed in quite some time. Entry was unmanicured and we are not usually very picky, but this was very noticeable and out of character from our COE experience. - pwdorris

Jun 2018 - $20.00
This is a nice little park. There are only 25 RV campsites, but we had a lot of shade. Our site was at the end of the road, and the road was a little tight and rough. We have a 23 foot trailer, and I noticed a bigger trailer had a hard time backing into one of the spaces. We enjoyed our stay at Fort Parker and would like to return someday. - kanela
May 2017 - $20.00
Can not stop talking about Fort Parker State Park to anyone who will listen. We fell in love with it from first sight. Well maybe not first sight, the road into the park is in need of repair. Very rough. And all of the grounds at the Park office are grown up but I might be that they are waiting for the wildflowers to got to seed. The Park Rangers were super friendly, all of them. Once you got to the RV loop the lake side views are outstanding. And well cared for. Our RV site was right on the water and we loved it. A perfect site. Sunsets for majestic every night. Fishing was available all around the camp, very nice fishing dock, well lighted for night fishing. There is a nice boat dock and also canoe rentals are available. There is a nice community center for rentals. And also screened shelters that look very nice. Lots of hiking trails, bike trails. Grills at each site, very nice concrete picnic tables at each site. Very clean restrooms and showers although we did not use them. We thoroughly enjoyed the little nature center was educational and entertaining. Nice history lesson on the CCA and the park history. Very sweet and helpful couple who run the Nature Center and work the grounds. I can't wait to return to this amazing state park. - True Texas
Apr 2017 - $20.00
Fort Parker is not a big state park. There are less then 30 spots for overnight stay. It is on the Navasota River and Fort Parker Lake. It is quiet and the hiking trails are easy. You can enjoy a picnic lunch and fish. We love the serenity of the place. There is Mexia and Groesbeck close by if you run out of supplies. This is one of our favorite places. - Cirrus
