3 RV Parks near Silverton, Texas
Apr 2016 - $18.00
Could be a nice place as it used to be in the past. New management and new employees did change the overall experience for our family. - PastFAN
Nov 2012 - $23.00
This could be a nice park. The sites are above the lake, but it's so low that water sports are not allowed. It is gravel and a a tad rough around the edges. We were the only campers the night we stayed. From Silverton take TX 86 W 5 mi and TX 207 N 7 mi. - bugsy

This is basically a large grassy field in the middle of a residential area. There are no trees and no shade. No picnic tables. All sites are grass/dirt with the exception of the one next to the office. We called to book a late arrival and the person who took our call said that rain was in the forecast so she would put us there rather than in the grass to help us avoid mud. That was appreciated. You must ask for the bathroom and wifi code; they are not automatically provided. One hookup stanchion serves two sites. Wifi was strong. There is one clean toilet/shower for each sex with hand soap and paper towels and water-saving shower heads, a responsible feature in this drought-prone area. The women's bathroom was provided with paper bath mats, a nice touch. However, the toilet paper dispenser was empty. Watch out for dog poop from roaming neighborhood dogs. This is not the tourist season so we were one of two rigs on the property for the night. There are also several cabins for rent. Due to proximity to Caprock Canyon we expect this is a popular place for vacationers touring the area. We would stay here again. Nice folks and good value for a short visit. - leorah

This park was a pleasant surprise. Caprock Canyon was full so we picked something close. This is a basic park in an open field. The whole area is prairie so that is to be expected. All sites are pull through and all sites are full hookup and you won't find nicer owners anywhere. Restrooms and showers were very clean and there is a laundry available. We will stay here again when we are in town. - bb6306

If visiting caprock canyon Spartanburg or just exploring the panhandle region stay with these folks...
Genuinely happy to help their customers.. we were with them about 2 months while working in the area.
Sites are gravel and are all pull through. Utilities are between campers so no looking at your neighbors sewer hose.. Sites alternate 50 amp 30 amp.
Not the best drainage when it rains heavily. No trees.
Laundry is immaculate and centrally located in the campground. - 2dogsandacatfulltime

Last trip was 12 years ago, was surprised to have bison wandering through our site. Turns out that as of 5 years ago, the bisons are allowed to roam. Very cool. Most of the sites are spacious with mesquite growing between sites to provide some privacy. Cellular - Verizon was very spotty. AT&T was strong. There is wifi in the campground, with the antenna at the restroom - so the closer to the restroom you, the stronger the signal. Park is wonderful, with great vistas to see and hike, bison, prairie dogs, and grasshoppers. (Oh so many grasshoppers) - Red Wolf
Sep 2019 - $28.00
Out in the middle of nowhere we found this campground to be fascinating. Red rock reminds me of Sedona area. We didn’t see Bison due to recent rain, however their droppings let you know it’s their turf. Nearby prairie dogs caught campers eyes! Tables are covered from the elements. - Maltaman

I really wanted to give this park a higher score. The staff was fantastic, the views from the canyons superb, and it was so much fun to be so close to the bison, prairie dogs, and other wildlife. But I just can't get past the fact that this park needs upgrades badly. The dump station was out of commission and the showers, well, let's just say I had to share the stall with more than a few of the locals (insects). I put a bunch of money in the kitty to help out, and I hope others will come for the spectacular scenery and wildlife and do the same. The park needs some help folks. - Travels with Tex
