This park is outside Somerset Texas which means there is little to see or do in the immediate area. If you want to tourist in San Antonio, it would be a good place to hang out. They accept the Texas Saver card you can get free by calling 1-800-657-6555. The card gets you a 10 percent discount at participating RV parks. This is also a Good Sam park. All the parking spots are level concrete with full hook ups. Most have 50/30/20 but our spot only had 30A service. Most of the folks at the park are full time and most have pretty clean areas. The grounds in general are nicely manicured. There is a lot of space between RV spots. The only negative is there isn't a lot of shade due to the type of trees that grow in the area. I did check out the combo laundry/shower area and it was nice and clean and actually had a vending machine. The folks who operate the camp are experienced and friendly owners. There isn't much to do once you are there so be prepared to go out and explore. The park is quiet and there is no road noise. AT&T phone reception was poor but you could make calls (1 bar). The wifi was pretty spotty. They have cable but I didn't hook up as we got 77 OTA channels which included all the major networks. - wiredgeorge

Upon arrival, we were told the new restroom building were almost complete. The one we had to use was the worst ever since we have been traveling the united states in 7 mos..Every day upon entering, they was no soap, towels or toilet paper available. Clearly they were never, within that week , checked. DIRTY, TO ANOTHER LEVEL. Mold growing on the walls all over , flooded 2 days with a dehumidifier . The door was coming apart in layers. CLEARLY it was never attended to or cared about. The neighbor that lives there said they been under construction the past 3 to 4 yrs..How can you be in a Good Sam park with this? The owners were very nice , the grounds were decent too but the restrooms were just unreal. You run a business but never check the restrooms?? I would never go back. - Colleen Rhyde

We stayed at the Country Breeze for a month. It was spacious and had partial cement pads. There were spaces with shade, but were occupied with long term campers. All though the park has new managers, the park was in need of a lot of electrical work. While we stayed there, we had many times where the main breaker on the pole got flipped. It was very windy with no protection and the water seemed to shut off or slow to a trickle at night. Which was not very convenient after a hot day when a shower was wanted. A cemetery was close to some of the sights, and it frequently had many visitors all hours of the night. We heard many of the campers complain about the electric and water. The air also smelled of oil and left an oily residue on everything. We would not stay again. - rvcamper4aces

The price reflects a weekly rate. It is a family owned park and the daughter checked us in. She is so sweet and helpful and truly cares about the customer. The only reason I gave this park a low star value is due to a few noise issues. There is a train crossing very close to the RV park so you will hear train horns often! On top of that I believe the train system must be one where they attach and detach because we would here one beep horn, two beep, long beep, etc. We could here the train horn even with our a.c. unit running. This would happen day and night. The second noise issue is the dog rescue shelter next door. Everyday you will here a point where many dogs will bark constantly. Other than noise, the RV park itself was friendly. The park is a little run down with yard maintenance but that did not bother me. The hospitality of the staff made up for any cosmetic issues. The FHU were great. - RV Path chosen

It was awesome shaded, peaceful, all around park was beautifully kept excellent place to get away from every day life. We would recommend to everyone - Rosalinda58
Mar 2018 - $44.00
Nice little park slightly off the beaten path. While it's a little out of San Antonio, it's peaceful and not much city noise that is to be expected from a city the size of San Antonio. There were a couple of horses next to the park...but didn't see any wildlife. Though we weren't there to see those. All the sites we wanted to see were within 30-45 minutes drive of the park...and that's including rush hour traffic. Didn't use the WiFi, but AT&T cell coverage was good. - zhilton

Selected Hidden Valley because we wanted to tour San Antonio and it was close. Spent no time at the park except to sleep, but it is clean, the site was good, and the owner is delightful. - GaryMic488
Jan 2019 - $35.00
Nice friendly RV Park. We stayed three days. Lots to do. The person in the office gave us tons of info which was very nice. Very close to town where the people are so very friendly. - JohnAprilKal326
Nov 2018 - $42.00
Very quiet relaxing campground! Near San Antonio so you can visit all the great attractions like the Alamo, River Walk, and more! The Campground has newer tiled restroom/showers which were very nice, and a nice laundry facility! Staff is nice, friendly, and helpful in finding parking downtown and suggesting less well-known places to visit! - Robyn And Tim

This park cannot handle 41 foot motor home need to firm up the ground and trim trees - Ken2455
May 2017 - $35.00
As you enter the park, your'e greeted by very friendly hosts. The entry is beautiful, but as you enter deeper, not so much. The park roads are gravel only at the entrance and then just dirt. As you drive around looking for your spot, you see plenty of "residents". Very old RVs, probably 50% of them, permanent. Seems a lot of construction workers occupy some, retirees, the rest. Only the entry of the park is full of trees, the rest of the park unfortunately, few trees. The RV spaces are roomy, but uneven. The pads, which were once gravel, are now covered in dirt, with little gravel remaining. The grassy areas have many weeds with prickly thorns, making for unhappy grandkids. Between the park conditions and the far distance from the city of San Antonio, I doubt I will return. Not the type of place to be a destination to sit back and relax... - fatbob

We loved our two week stay at this beautiful and peaceful park. The staff was courteous and friendly. The trees, wildflowers and butterflies were spectacular. It was so nice not to be near a highway. - Linda Nations

We had electric and water hookups that worked fine, as did the dump station when we left. The main reason for my rating was the poor, or lack of, service. The office was closed too often and the staff did not return phone messages. It was like musical chairs in the campground. Every day, this trailer moved from here to there and that one went from there to here. People stayed well past check out and with no staff overseeing operations it was easy for people to come and go without supervision. In addition, the Wifi was a hit or miss affair. It would suddenly drop the signal then not be available to reconnect. There was no cable tv. - Melodycthomas
Aug 2015 - $20.00
Space is available on a first come first serve basis. If there is a spot when you arrive, claim it and then pay at the office. Small campground with about 30 spaces, but clean and well kept. Good electric and good water pressure. - CWinLV
Nov 2012 - $22.00
Stayed here for a month. Park is military but civilians can stay with a military sponsor. Rate is slightly higher. You have to leave the base for one day every 30 days. The rate includes full hookups no charge for electric and the laundry is free. Nice park most sites have shade except for the partial hookup sites. These are pull throughs with a paved surface. The full hookup sites have concrete and pavement. Nice place to stay. - Buddman

For the most part a self service park. Never saw any management. Office was always locked. Grass is well maintained but utilities, roads, etc are in need of upgrading. Roads are terrible all over the AFB. Water connections leak, cable boxes broken, laying on the ground. Spaces are generous, but be careful of low limbs. Bring your own Mi-Fi. Park's Wi-Fi is all but unusable. Price reflects $440/month. We would stay again. - Deck & Margot
Nov 2013 - $30.00
This RV park should not be open. There is no Wi-Fi or cable. The sites are not level and the roads are full of pot holes. The only thing going for it is the price. $355.00 per month keeps it pretty well full of workers. - possumtrotky
Jan 2013 - $12.00
This RV park is in very bad shape and should not be open. The roads have deep pot holes everywhere. The sites are narrow and utilities are on the wrong side for hooking up. My rate is based on a monthly stay of $355 per month. The lady that works nights is very friendly. There are no rules in this park, but it is quiet, and all dogs are on a leash. - possumtrotky

Nov 2018 - $35.00
I want to rate this place highly because the owners are so nice and accommodating. We don't need any amenities which is why we chose this place, and it was the lowest cost in San Antonio. It is perfect if you will be gone all day sightseeing. But it is not a pleasant environment for hanging at your campsite, so I thought the price was a little high for the conditions. A few dollars more would have gotten us into a resort (with the resort current discounts) and a much nicer setting. Still, I have to give them credit for the way they manage the property they have. The owners gave us local tourist brochures which were helpful and recommended local places to eat. They let us know that the city bus to downtown runs right past the property, the bus stops are close by. One is at Mission Espada which is only ½ mile away. There was plenty of room for walking my dogs but they warn you to watch for snakes. We did see one but it was tiny. There is no wifi but our T-Mobile hot spot worked well and we had a good AT&T cell signal. No cable but plenty of OTA channels. Park at Mission Espada and ride your bikes all the way to downtown (about 8 miles). Or, take city bus #40 right to the Alamo. Very convenient. - janci
Nov 2017 - $35.00
We stayed at Yanawana Camp for three nights. It's located in a quiet area on the south side of San Antonio. It has five camping spots each of which has electricity, water and sewer. The campground was very tidy and clean. There are no central amenities (i.e., bathroom, shower or laundry) but that was fine with us. We have a 26-foot trailer and there was plenty of room to park our tow vehicle. All the sites are back-in, so if you have a huge 45-foot Class A, this campground might not work for you.
All the interior roads and camping spots are gravel and maintained very nicely. There is plenty of grass and trees throughout the facility.
We liked the privacy and rural location but were still within 1 mile of gas stations and McDonalds. Gabby and Clemente were perfect hosts. We'll definitely stay there again. - cschwerd

Jan 2019 - $25.00
We stayed here for a week when our son graduated from Air Force basic training. It's about a 20 minute drive to Lackland. The weekly rate is now $180. A one night stay is $45, which is way overpriced. Apparently the full timers were all kicked out and there are very few RVs here now. Full hookups, excellent Wi-Fi (not much competition at the moment). There no host. There's a trailer here that says "host" but there's a host here only occasionally. So say the friendly ladies at City Hall, where you have to go to pay for your site. Police patrol regularly. Coyotes and a very distant train whistle at night. Nice spot. - Dsbrega
Sep 2017 - $24.00
We stayed here for a week while visiting family in San Antonio in our 21' Travel Trailer. We called ahead to reserve a spot 4 days ahead and left a message. After not getting a call back, we called again the day before and spoke with someone to reserve a spot. Finding this park isn't too difficult, don't let the residential area you drive through with poor streets deter you. We arrived around 4:45pm and the camp host/ranger told us he had "about given up on us". We had our pick of the two remaining spots. This park is laid out inside a county park. There is a fenced in area where there are about 30 sites (it seems like most of these sites are people living here full time). This area has a fair amount of trees and shade and is where the bath house is located (we never used it). Then outside that fenced in area is basically what looks like a converted parking lot from the park. This has an additional 10 spots. We were on the end of this area, closest to the actual rv park. There are picnic tables at each spot, as well as full hookups. The sites are close together, but not the worst we have been in. We paid cash to our host (we did get a receipt) and we got the weekly rate of $165. There is wifi which was actually not terrible. The park itself is great to walk around in and has some hiking trails. There was a ton of wildlife in the park at night, including at least 2 dozen deer who slept in the field just outside our trailer, which our dog loved. Speaking of dogs, my wife was talking to another camper and she said that next year they will be enforcing a policy of not allowing certain dog breeds into the park. If this is true, it is a real shame. Overall, a decent place to spend some time visiting San Antonio. Compared to other RV parks we saw, this one is further from the highway and enjoys a great park to hike or walk in. - sjeuck
Jan 2017 - $35.00
This is a friendly place to stay, about 15 miles west of San Antonio. The RV Park is part of the Castroville Regional Park. It's next to a small river, so there's plenty of hiking and wildlife viewing. I guess you can fish too, if you like. Wi-fi is very good.
All sites are gravel pull-thru, level, and long enough for most rigs. There's not much space between sites, but enough.
The only down side is there's only one shower. The shower itself is very large and works well. There are a couple of curtains covering the shower area, but there's no private changing area. Just a large bench. It reminds me of a high school gym locker room. - Rover Travels

Jan 2018 - $40.00
I stayed here two years ago, prior to new management, and had positive memories of the place, quiet, nothing fancy, but that is what you get for cheap. This time around, with the increased price, the improvements I noticed were small dog run, mowed back yard to get an extra couple of feet of walking with the dogs, excellent wifi and cable. The downsides are back placement of sewer connection (bring 3 sections of hose if your drain is mid-RV); sewer connection is up hill; sites are uneven front-back & side-to-side; most sites are narrow (wasn't a problem years ago because few spots were occupied); our site had crushed rocks aka ankle twisters and a spattering of cement blocks (didn't even want to look out the window let alone sit outside); lots of bits of litter everywhere, lots of dog poop everywhere, laundry room was clean at a casual glance, but upon closer inspection could use a deep clean. (I didn't go in the bathrooms.) - MichelleKry

Stayed here 2 weeks in June. Nice place, reasonably priced, friendly staff but most importantly, quiet & peaceful. Not once did I hear sirens or train horns through the night. I would recommend Tejas to anyone. - rbtpro

Dec 2012 - $11.00
We stayed at this park last year because of the proximity to our son's home at a rate of $275. This year the rate has gone up to $325 (50 amp). Not a single thing has been done to improve this park so no idea why the price hike. The owner has been working on the building for at least 6 years now. No laundry, no showers, no bathrooms, no Wi-Fi. Most of the sites are not level. We had to use several boards under our front tires so they wouldn't be off the ground. The view out our windshield is several piles of dirt. - debken
Feb 2007 - $25.00
This is a new park, the bath house will be built this year, and wi-fi will be available next year. The trees are growing and the yards are big. The owners are very nice and keep the park looking nice. You are able to watch a beautiful sunset or walk down to the Medina River and fish or just relax. It is going to be a great park. - unhappyintx
