8 RV Parks near Sweetwater, Texas
Sep 2019 - $38.00
Very unpleasant front desk help. Had power problem with my first site. My EMS said one line had low voltage and cut power. It was pretty hot so AC was essential. Office was closed and no emergency number. I wandered around park until I found someone who could tell me where mgr was. She came over and said pole looked good and they have had bigger units than mine in there...I should just unplug my EMS. I said no and she had a hissy fit and finally gave me another site. That one worked. Still, very nasty attitude. - gmk
Jun 2019 - $37.00
No frills place to park overnight. Utilities were at the back of the site we were given so we only used electric. Management was very poor. Gave us a site and AFTER we were all set up told us to move to next site over. They forgot they had a friend coming in to the site they assigned us originally. Sorry was all they said. Sewer too far back to use without adding all my hose extensions to reach it. So didn't use it for a one night stop. Next to I-20 (noise) and adjacent to a large T&A Truck Stop (More noise). We needed a place to spend the night and this need was met. - Creativepart
May 2019 - $38.00
This is a small campground with just 50 sites, check in was efficient and friendly. Interior roads do need some work as they are cracking up badly. Our site was a level and long spacious pull through, with a tree and a large patch of grass between each site. There was plenty of space to park our towed and big rig access was good. But we had no picnic table or barbecue. The bathrooms were extremely luxurious and spotlessly clean, and befitting a high scale resort! The laundry room was large and well equipped plenty of washers and dryers, a hanging rail for clothes, a table for folding clothes, and all was spotlessly clean. Why can't more laundries be like this? It was pet friendly but nowhere to walk your pet except around the campground. There is a daily trash pick up from your RV. There was some road and train noise, but due to the location we did expect it, but we have been in far noisier campgrounds! WiFi was good. Despite being a no frills park we were pleasantly surprised and impressed by all the updates the owner has done so far, and we would definitely stay here again, it was perfect for us as a one nighter, easy in and easy out. - Bluejug
Feb 2018 - $15.00
Strange campground, but with W/E sites for $15/night, it was worth a stay just to run the electric heater and the furnace on a windy, very cold February night. And the cottonwood and oak trees around the edges of the campground helped reduce the constant north wind. The sites were fairly widely spaced, but each power post/faucet had two sides--one on gravel and one on grass/weeds. We picked the grass side of our site because it was a little more level, but we could still put the truck on the downhill side because we weren't unhooking the trailer. This would probably be a great park for fall or spring camping with its two campgrounds, a lake for fishing and boating, a marina, a golf course, and a general store. There was some noise from the nearby highway and there were very few OTA TV stations. But for us, it worked well as a brief stop on a long, cold Texas plains night even though the price was just raised from $10 to $15/night on Jan. 1, 2018. - fanrgs
Nov 2016 - $1.00
This place is a few miles off the interstate and signs are few and far between however the GPS coordinates were spot on. Roads and sites are gravel. Sites are just kind of scattered around in amongst the trees. You find power (30 & 50 amp) and water that are close to one of the wide spots, park and hook up! Most areas are level and range in size from small to huge. No problem finding an open spot for satellite and Verizon 4G was strong. Very quiet sparsley populated with campers. Great place for an overnight stop to get away from the interstate noise. - Pjoe
Apr 2016 - $10.00
Nice park located below the dam of lake. Trees and shade available. Dump station located near exit of park. Power pedestal located next to site. We camped during motorcycle rally and cook-off. - TnL Thomas
Jun 2015 - $30.00
In town right off the interstate. Not in a very nice/safe looking neighborhood. Some pull thru sites but they are very short. Check in was not ideal. When you enter, there is a very run down house that looks like it should be condemned. The office is a little further in. When we arrived it was closed and it said to check in at a certain site number or to call a phone number. The site numbers were not visible so it was impossible to locate the site they referred to. By the looks of the mostly permanent trailers, I would not want to risk knocking on the wrong door. I called the number and the lady came right over.
We checked into a site right in front of the office. When we plugged our EMS/ surge protector it read high voltage! Needless to say we could not stay. They were very nice about refunding our money.
Most of the sites were occupied with what appeared to be permanent residents or maybe rentals working in the oilfields.
Unless you are really desperate I would recommend passing Sweetwater on by. - jvkATX
Jul 2014 - $10.00
Sites are scattered over the campgound, but dispersed so you are not close. First electric we tried had open ground, but the one on the other side of the pole was good. Managed by the city and had a very friendly host on site. Great little park for an over night or a few days. We will come back. - Orlan
Oct 2013 - $27.00
Limited sites, good overnight stop. - twocoots
Jul 2018 - $40.00
We had a crew for a job out in the area with 9 RV's we needed and they were able to accommodate us. The manager was great, she stayed with us till all the RV's were parked. The park was easy to find off interstate 20. They have a logo sign at the interstate exit and a huge, illuminated sign at the entrance of the park. Park is clean and showers are also very clean. They have a laundry and a pool (yaaaa). So if you're traveling to the West, stop by this park, you won't be disappointed. - Lizd29
Feb 2018 - $35.00
The best I can say about it is you can pull off for the night when tired of driving. - sandawilliams
Apr 2017 - $35.00
The park not maintained Grass uncut. No lighting. It's a poor trailer park. Management absent from property. A one night stand if you can't find another park. - Geno1986
Jul 2019 - $30.00
Only in an emergency would I stay here again. The only pluses are easy on off, all pull throughs. Dirty with lots of old junky full time residents. No other facilities. - littlegeneral
Sep 2019 - $20.00
For a no frills, overnight spot, in the middle of no where, this is just fine. It's still a work in progress and the owner is still clearing land to add more sites. Most of the sites are workers living there while they work on the pipeline. The campground is rough gravel, with mostly dead grass and some dead trees, but its a hot, dry area, so its to be expected. There are stray dogs that run around, so we played with the very cute puppies. The owner is very nice and very helpful. But note, if you call, you dont know if you've dialed the right number, as his voice mail is about catching a wild beast, and says nothing about an RV Park. It was full hook ups, but we only used electricity, which worked fine. Surprisingly, he has very good Wi-Fi. Very laid back, no forms to fill out, just gave him $20 bucks for the night. - Moo1966
Sep 2019 - $20.00
We were the first review f this park back in 16, they had just started and were working as they went, the work has continued and sites added as they could, no frills no bathhouse but wi-fi that works a level pull through site and friendly helpful owner to get you in place. Just what you need for an overnite spot. - Bruce and Janette
May 2019 - $25.00
10 or 12 sites behind a farmers house out in a cotton field. Quiet, except for the occasional train. About a mile from the flying J. Nothing fancy but good for a quick overnight. A little hard to find, but owner saw me on the highway a couple of hundred yards away, and guided me in by phone. - Jim451
Apr 2019 - $20.00
This is a labor of love by new owner. Take exit 223 off I-20. Interstate noise wasn't distracting. Restrooms were tired and going to be revamped. All utilities were available. Sites (all unnumbered) were adequate in length for my 23ft, and we didn't disconnect for our overnight stay. Owner works offsite during the day, but responds to phone calls quickly. Nice for overnight. Several monthly tenants had trailers there. Quiet. Wifi was marginal. I hope the owner's vision for the park come to fruition. Fuel is 4 miles back. No other services available at the park. This is a quick overnight, no frills stop. - Rick-Y
Oct 2018 - $23.00
The people there are great - very courteous and friendly. They have clean restrooms and showers. The wifi actually worked great. I highly recommend The Comfort Zone. I wish all RV parks were like them. The lots are really spacious. All in all the best RV park I've been to in a long time. - Freddy01
Apr 2016 - $12.00
Stayed here for a second time while on a cross country trip. I'm a school teacher so I have 2 weeks of Spring Break to take my time on a drive. Former Military got me a little discount (Woo hoo)!
When I arrived, I Pulled in past the concrete bull and the swing set, found a nice spot, and set up camp. Park owner lives on the property and was very kind--came out as soon as I came in and welcomed me.
Each site has its own built-in grill, covered picnic table on a paved slab, and shade tree. There's firewood stacked nicely behind the bathrooms that the owner welcomed me to use. There's a small house on the campground that has showers, flushing toilets, and coin-operated washing machine and dryer.
I'm a female in my 30s, just trying to drive through to my parents place, and I traveled alone. I felt very safe here. - ClaireBayer
Mar 2019 - $35.00
Park is just off I-20. Easy to get to. Owner very friendly and accommodating. Wasn't in the office when we arrived, but checked on us later that evening. Sites are nice and long, gravel and packed dirt base. Fairly level. Park was only about 1/4 full. Utilities were easily accessible about mid-way on the site. Most of the residents appear to be permanent residents and some of the trailers are very run down (tarps over roofs, lots of "stuff sitting around", not well maintained,) and appear to have been there a few years. Only complaint I had was the site we were in was littered with cigarette butts. As a non-smoker, I find most unpleasant that people don't clean up after themselves or their pets. Travel trailer next door to us had 2 dogs that owner let roam without a leash. Smaller dog did "its business" on our site and owner didn't clean up. (Probably because she wasn't paying attention to them.) Area is pretty flat, open, and it was very windy. Not much in the way of fencing to stop litter from invading the park from the nearby businesses. - usamacdonald2
Mar 2018 - $30.00
Nice, clean and roomy spot. Site surface was gravel. Sunny and open exposures. Stayed the night on the way to Texas. - Kenjr
Nov 2015 - $30.00
This park is really a home to men and families working on the oil line with one space for people traveling through. The owner is very kind the space is very large, hook ups easy but not sure I would come back. Train is nearby and the place is really quiet by 9:00 but by 5:30 there is a lot of noise as the men leave for the day. - Bev&Dick
