The Good, Bad and the ugly... The Good: The owner, mgr who checked us in was wonderful. Nice as could be and very helpful. The park served our purpose. Full hook up 50 amp. The Bad: We were in site 75 on the gravel road. Cars and trucks on the noisey gravel road less than 10 feet from our bedroom window. Awakened numerous times. The gravel was actually rocks that one could break an ankle on. No picnic table, no patio, couldn't sit out. Grass/weeds needed mowing. The road in (AND Out) had tank traps in it. Located in the boonies. Cannot reccommend this park to anyone. Would never stay again. It is for long term people that don't expect much. The best part other than the front office lady was we had a roadrunner that lived in the bush next to us. It was fun to watch the bird and his quirky habits. - saintjamescity
May 2018 - $35.00
Check-in process was easy. Lady at desk was friendly and inquired about our visit to Waco and after I said we were going to see Chip and JoAnna Gaine's Silos, she provided maps of Waco, driving directions into Waco, suggestions on places to visit and other helpful information. I really appreciated the information she provided as it was very helpful. We were given Site 77, a pull through which was a level gravel site. Sites were spacious with grass around site and trees on most sites. Campground appeared to have a lot of long stay RVs but it was neat and clean. Rate for one night was $35.00 with Good Sam discount + tax. Cable TV available for long term with Fee & equipment through the office. Good reception on my Antenna with lots of stations. WiFi available for most sites but it did not work at my location. Did not use the bathrooms or the laundry. Note: Don't use GPS to get to the site, use the directions shown on Quail Crossing RV Park website. - BillyE
Apr 2018 - $12.00
This is a great location only 6 miles out of Waco. It is intended for people who are self contained and has long pull thru sites. It gets low scores because of small bathrooms (the reason for self contained) and only 3 washers and dryers. The people are friendly and knowledgeable about the City of Waco. We have a 42' motorhome and, due to doctors appointments, are staying two months. Rate is based on a monthly. Rates are $200 week, $350 month + electric. Daily varies. Great place, quiet and well kept. - Jerryu

Apr 2018 - $10.00
This must be an older COE campground as the sites are very tight and short. The trees hang over many sites and there's not enough room to get turned around to even back into a site without a many point turn operation! Low hanging limbs desperately need trimming over sites! The campground is on the lake with nice views but the RV sites need some work! Unless you're an expert backer with your rig, don't even try it. - PegL
Apr 2018 - $10.00
Everything I want in a COE park. Great lake views, nice staff, rustic setting, senior discount. The park was clean. It is about 8-10 miles to town. On our last morning, we found the water was shutoff for repairs. Fortunately this did not pose an inconvenience for us. Backing into the site was a little tricky because of low hanging branches. - Lizzie Bliss
Aug 2013 - $20.00
This park is old and not a typical COE that I have visited over the years. Lots of shade by the Cedar scrub trees. Lots of bugs especially spiders. Webs are created by the minute. Great Lake views, some covered concrete picnic tables. Not maintained at all. Bathrooms are bug infested, hot, and they are pit toilets. Great place if you are going to boat and so use the day resources around the corner. Its an OK place for a couple days. Oh, and Electrical was pretty low voltage wise. We had campers next door and when their air conditioner came on and my air was on the voltage went to less than 108 volts. I can only image if there were any more campers on the same circuit. Will go back but will be well prepared with bug spray, brooms to knock down webs, plenty of candles, foggers, and a high pressure washer to wash the picnic tables, shelter, and concrete slab off before we use it. - Gearitis

Nov 2017 - $32.00
Don't know about summer campers, but in November we were disappointed, to say the least. We had come thru Waco when heading west, so came back thru heading east. COE park was not available. Chose this park because it was on the river and sounded nice. Everything was very rundown. The "clubhouse" was locked. I went into the shower house and was glad I didn't have to use it. Unlike other parks, where we have stayed a week, there were no newcomers and no one leaving. Most are workers, etc, full time on a month to month lease. The residents seem to have a understanding with the owner to park in multiple places, have dog pens, etc. I say it is satisfactory, because the site was plenty big for our 40 ft 5th wheel and truck. It is easy in and out, and all utilities worked fine. We knew it was 12 miles out of town, and if all other things had been as advertised, it would have been good. The property is huge and could be a gorgeous place, if someone wanted to invest the time and money. As it is now, we would not go back. - JudynJoe

Jun 2018 - $22.00
As with most COE parks - this place is a fantastic water themed vacation area. The roads are all paved and easy to navigate. Nearly all the sites have some trees so shade from the hot sun is generally available. The only downside is trying to get to this place. If you are not a local - you will likely have great difficulty in finding it. The address (Skeet Eason Rd) is actually an access road around the airport. There is no signage telling you that you need to go further to get to the actual park entrance - and even then, the sign is not very big or visible. Granted, this is not that big a deal in a car - except if you have a 40ft Rv and are towing. There is no place to turn around. But once you finally get here - you will likely love the setting. - rv time
Jun 2018 - $14.00
We stayed here while visiting Magnolia Farms. It was just enough out of town to be very peaceful. The staff was very friendly at check in. The park was very clean and well organized. We used our National Parks pass to get a 50% discount for 3 nights. This is a great place to stay while visiting Waco and the sites are spacious with trees and a covered picnic table. - Bakersfish
May 2018 - $12.00
We stayed on a waterfront site which was amazing. The only downside of the campground was in our loop, the bathhouse was in bad shape. There was no running water and flies galore! Another bath house further down, appeared to be pretty clean but not great. We had a non sewer site, but managed it well over 4 nights there. The sunsets on the lake were awesome! - steveNdonna

This park was nice with lots of room, lots of trees and shade. The only negative we experienced was "the buzzer". There is a large radio tower in the park and a very loud buzzer goes off intermittently during daylight hours to scare off the buzzards. By the third day we'd almost gotten used to the buzzer. Almost. - DrifterMDB
Jul 2010 - $26.00
The marina & RV park is on Lake Whitney - a HUGE lake NW of Waco. The sites vary in quality. Ours had a cement patio, picnic table and small BBQ. Lot's of trees (small oaks - normal for the hill country) which do provide much needed shade in July. However, that makes it, uh, interesting maneuvering your class A or 5er around! It took three of us to safely get our 36' motorhome tucked away. Be sure to check the web site and request a specific site if necessary. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. Most of the sites are gravel and leveling may be an issue. Again - check the site once you get there before committing to it. Couple of pools that looked well maintained. Keyed laundry facilities, showers and rest rooms. If you're looking for a base camp for fishing - this is a good choice. - GTN_and_Catz

Apr 2018 - $12.00
This park was certainly nice enough although the roads were being worked on and were hard to navigate and bumpy. We were easily able to find where we wanted to go. However, the bathrooms were deplorable. I took a bird bath in our camper after going into them. I looked in every one and found rusted floors from the metal thrash can, crumbled and missing concrete several places in the floor, questionable cleanliness, grass tracked in all over the floor. I even went into the handicapped bathroom. That would be bad if a truly handicapped person entered, set up their supplies, only to discover NO handle on the shower. There were even vise-grip marks where someone tried to use it. In addition, the first sign points to the right toward the marina. We drove around for 20 minutes, finally called the marina to find how to get to the RV park. I don't think I would use again if other lake parks were available. - MickeyCathyBryant
Oct 2017 - $12.00
The front gate couple were very helpful. This park has a beautiful setting. On the lake, grills, fire pits, covered tables and asphalt pads. The asphalt pads have grass growing in the cracks. This destroys the asphalt. Our site was dirty, lots of small trash items in the grass, gravel on the asphalt pad (they rake the gravel around the tables onto the pad), and muddy pad when it rained. The exit road has deep pot holes. The restrooms were broken (no water in one stall, doors would not close because the hinges needed tightening) and no soap.
The grass was growing over the sidewalks and pads. Dumpster lids were open and attracted flies. Because of the location and price we would stay here again. This could be so much nicer with a little attention to detail. - Beas
Apr 2017 - $12.00
We stayed here for one week in a fifth wheel, enjoyed our stay. The sites are well separated and private although there are few trees, mostly grassy areas. The restrooms are a fair distance from the sites, but we did not use them. The dump site is difficult to use as the connections are on a raised concrete platform, difficult to use if you are using a tote. - estegw

Sep 2018 - $10.00
This COE campground is not very well maintained. It appears to need a good mowing with tall grass/weeds growing throughout the park. Even the playground area was in dire need of mowing. The sites which are gravel and grass are fairly spacious but a lot of them are uneven. Our campsite 67, beside the lake along with 5 others, were in a fenced area which was a bit mysterious. In looking at the other sites in this area, ours appeared to be the most level with a nice big tree which offered some shade There is no swimming beach as of this review although the day use area close to the park entrance was under construction so would assume there will be a beach in the future. Lots of nature watching here with white egrets making a nightly journey to bird island just up the lake from the campground, cranes, turtles and deer running through the park. We were invaded by ants in our motor home, something that we have never experienced. While the maintenance was disappointing, we did enjoy our site by the lake watching the egrets and the beautiful sunsets. Not sure we would return. - Budmobile

Great park good friendly staff well marked lots of room between sites, most had covered picnic tables all in very good condition. We recommend this campground. And only $14.00 a night it is a bargain - Johnjean
Nov 2016 - $14.00
We stayed at the Lofers Bend West Campground which is adjacent to the East Campground. It is an Army COE camp and very clean and well maintained. Campground was full the Weekend after Thanksgiving. Most of the park has paved roads, but we stayed in W03 which is on a gravel road. No issues parking, but leaving was difficult because we had to back the trailer following the same route in. The loop road was very rough with very low large trees and is basically impassible for most 5th wheels. Again, our location was an exception. We would stay gain. - MajorJeff
Dec 2014 - $12.00
I stayed here for one night and luckily was the only camper staying there. Lots of large trees and many spots right on the lake. Really spacious spots and easy to park. Also, herds of deer were milling around the campers. I would like to come back to spend more time and visit the park. - ProRVer

Jan 2019 - $26.00
We loved our stay! Our site #1 was a long back in with a beautiful view of Lake Waco and sunsets. We have a 43 ft 5th wheel and there was plenty of room for our RV and truck and the rear patio. The non-sewer sites were spaced out nicely with plenty of space between sites. The sewer sites were closer together and out by the road so I'm glad we picked a non-sewer site. Access to the park was easy, just off hwy 6. You have to go under a bridge before the entrance if you are traveling west on 6, but the clearance was plenty high enough (we are 13'6"). Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile all worked well there. - Love2Camp777
Jan 2019 - $13.00
Stayed here in a 40' MH with toad. The park is conveniently located off the highway and Waco. Many choices of shopping, restaurants, etc. within less than 5 miles. Stayed on a full hook-up, pull-through site. The site was just long enough for both MH and toad. The angle of the entrance/exit to the site is difficult to maneuver without getting off the pavement. All sites and interior roads are asphalt. The park is located on the shore of Lake Waco so nice views. Unfortunately, the sites with the best views don't have sewer hook-ups. The pull-through sites face the highway and do have highway noise associated with them. They are fairly narrow. Each has a picnic table on a covered patio. There are back-in sites along the rear of the campground that are full hook-up and are much more spacious than the pull-through sites. The restrooms and showers are nothing fancy, but appeared to be clean. The regular price is $26/night, but you can get a 50% discount if you have a Senior National Parks Pass. We stayed here 3 nights to visit some of the attractions in Waco. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. - Phaeton_Owner
Jul 2018 - $7.00
This place was a great find! Nice long (ours was 80') paved & level pull-thru site with a covered picnic table. 50 amp, water & sewer hook-ups. We got good WiFi coverage. Didn't get very good TV reception, but wasn't here for that. Location was good, right off the I-35/ Hwy 6 and 15 min. from Waco. You got freeway noise in the morning, but that was really it, I thought. For the money, wow, you can't beat this place! Right next to the water too, and a nice picnic area under trees. Really clean and well maintained. - MarieB
