We stayed here for an overnight stay on our way to Arizona. The sites are dirt. There are a lot of sticker burrs around. Our pull thru site was long enough for our coach and toad (51') although we did have to reposition to use the sewer connection. We were far enough off I-10 that we didn't hear any road noise. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Good overnight stop with easy on and off of I-10. Level site as we didn't disconnect our fifth wheel. Good cable with 50 channels including sports channels. Sprint was full bars. Only drawback would be the dust from the dirt roads resulting from drivers going too fast. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Great experience. Camping in a 41 ft motorhome with tow. Very easy in and out and close to the freeway but with no noise. Very long camping spots, perfectly level. Very friendly staff. WiFi was excellent. Also, if you have a pet, large open spaces to walk your dog. They have an in-house cafe and will deliver directly to your site. Had a patty melt, came with great fries for under $9.00. When through this area again will definitely stay here. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice family owned park. The sites are wide and vary in length so be accurate on your rig. Size. Ours was within 4" of level so pretty good. The best part of the stay was eating at Penny's Cafe! It's as original west Texas as you can get. Chicken Fried Steak, Cat Fish and more. Breakfast was like Granny made!! Awesome folks run it from Oct 1 to Apr 30. Definitely a superb stay! We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights at this park; inbound and outbound legs of our summer trip. This is an overnight stop type of park. Dirt/gravel roads and sites with little to no shade. The staff was excellent; friendly and helpful. On our outbound leg we arrived after hours and our reservation was attached to the office door. We did not use the amenities, but they seemed satisfactory. We would camp here again. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly staff and the place was clean. No shade, no grass but adequate for over night stay. Restrooms were clean. WiFi was marginal. We would not stay there again unless we had no other option. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in June in a fifth wheel. The park is not hard to find and is well off the interstate. Check-in was quick they take a Good Sam discount. The park is old and it shows. We had a site on row F 50 amp. The sites are well worn little grass mostly weeds occupy the area. The hookups all worked OK, no issues there. Its OK for an overnight stay. This RV Park does the best it can with the circumstances. My rating of an 8 instead of a 10 is no reflection on the way the park is run but rather a comment on the city of Van Horn. Van Horn is like an Oasis along I-10. Nothing much there. Mc Donald's & a couple of truck stops. There is a café at the RV Park but we didn't use it. No grass to speak of it is desert area. They do have a dog park. The sites were level & the hook ups were well placed. There is cable & all the sites would be satellite friendly. We would stay here again as a stopover. Overall Rating:

The park was a convenient spot to set up at. It made it easier to check out 3 National Parks from one location. Big Bend, Guadalupe and Carlsbad were easy to get to from here. Big Bend was a long day but this place is so much nicer than anything around Big Bend.

The staff was friendly and helpful, there was a cafe right on site that had OK food. The services all worked and the night sky was amazing. Nothing to really see or do in Van Horn but a good base for us while we explored several National Parks. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Easy check-in and friendly staff. Easy on/off the interstate. Our site was pretty level and long enough for our 45 MH and tow. Decent enough spacing between sites. Interior roads and sites are gravel and red dirt. Except for the occasional train whistle, it was pretty quiet. Can hear traffic faintly off in the distance from the highway. The WII FI didn't work - we could connect but there was no internet. Directv and Verizon worked fine. There is a small restaurant on site but we didn't visit. They give you a menu when you check-in though. Good for an overnight. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Smaller park with 30 amp and 50 amp rv spaces, tent camping spaces and camping cabins. This used to be a KOA but is now privately owned. We stayed in site G6, a very long pull through (110') which was nicely level. The entire park is comprised of hard packed dirt/gravel and is open with limited shade. It gets windy here, and the dust can really kick up. All sites are FHU with cable and a few sites have a picnic table (ours didn't). Park is easy to get in/out of and is close to the highway but with minimal traffic noise. There is a nearby train, but the horns were nominal. They have decent amenities on site such as a pool (open May through September), laundry area, horseshoes, playground, fishing pond, dog park, propane service and even a café that serves breakfast and dinner. Office has decent selection of snacks, drinks and rv supplies. Bathrooms consisted of three showers and three toilets per gender and were cleaned daily. Utilities worked well and Verizon service was very good. Free wifi but we didn't use. Park is a good choice for a convenient overnight stop and we would stay again. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Super clean, big sites, good interior roads. This place is a nice spot to stop over. They have a small fenced dog park and a cute playground that were nice too. The little cafe at the campground had decent food for a reasonable rate. This will definitely be on my list of preferred overnight stops. We stopped on a trip out west and were favorably satisfied. While Van Horn is a desert and sandy town the RV Park does a good job of keeping the park well maintained and clean. Sites are spacious and our pull through was easy to park and the interior roads easy to navigate. Nice little dog park area and the park is well lit. Would stay here again. After a long trip from Tombstone to Van Horn we especially appreciated the small cafe that was in the park. The food was Excellent and staff so friendly. Our site was long enough we did not have to unhook, we have a 42' 5th wheel and Chevy dually truck. We spent one nite on our way to Waco. Did not use any facilities. Appreciated being close to highway and fuel to continue our journey! We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.
