Great Park. Long pull-thru for coach and toad. Very unique dog park-just wish it was fenced so we could let our dog run. Grass area with concrete pad is much appreciated after all the gravel sites in the western states. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park a total of 45 minutes. Thats how long it took to find a site that came close to working for us, in the end we left. The park is city owned and well maintained but it is old and poorly designed for today's RVs. If you have a 28' or less size RV this park will work for you. Anything larger and you will be challenged by the length of the sites, where the connections are and the tight unmarked roads. All of the back in sites power and water are at the front of the site so 50' water hoses will be needed as well as extension power cords. Many sites share a power pedestal so if you arrive late you chances are you will not have the 50 amp outlet. The one of a couple of sites that we fit in (40') had this problem and the smaller RV would not give up the 50 amp connection. There are shade trees which is nice but the fact that they are not trimmed back and scrape your roof and side is not good. We left for a real RV park and left this city park to the snobby euro-campers that it seems to attract. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

High marks for value. This was our second stay here, sites here are so level we did not bother to use our jacks. We were in the middle row that has shared electric boxes, 50, 30 & 20. So our site #15 had the 50 amp, the site next to us would have had the 30 amp. A great easy off, easy on RV park when passing thru the area. I don't believe the earlier review about 'sketchy people' walking thru the park, it is possible though. That reviewer has 1 review, so I wonder if he owns a park nearby. OTA TV was very good. There is a suspension bridge across the river to a nice walking trail that goes along the river. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

US-287 Business has lots of options for a cold one. Wichita Falls Brewing in town has a couple of good beers, but no food. The Water Hole is a local place with good prices and people. Across the street is a new, old place now called O'Briens. Good prices and nice and clean. Avoid the Silver Dollar Saloon unless you like over paying for a well drink.

City RV park adjacent to beautiful city park. Well lit, paved, self service place. Only complaint is stickers in the grass ..my poor dog.. A few car sleepers late at night but they were gone in the am. Our second time here. We stayed this time to ride out some bad weather. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a no-frills city park right next to the interstate. There are both back-in and pull-through sites, but the layout of the pull-throughs is a bit odd. We experienced no power problems in our site. We were confused by only some sites having water, but then realized later the intended water hookups are underground for each site. There are a lot of stickers from weeds in the grass, so be careful with pets. There is a very large park across a suspension bridge. It did feel a little sketchy, but it is well-lit at night and we didn't experience any problems. You'll definitely want to run your a/c fan at night to drown out the interstate. Overall we're satisfied with it as an overnight stop while on the road. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

In town RV park run by the city. It doesn't have bathrooms, but does have water and 30A electric on site with a free dump station on your way out. It is a clean park with blacktop roads and slip. Some sites have picnic tables and lighting is good at night. It is self registering at the entrance. The only problem with this place is we had a lot of sketchy people walking and driving around like they were casing your property. We also had a guy knocking on rv doors asking for gas money at night. We did not feel safe and would not stay again. They should get a workcamp host to stay on site. The power went out in the whole park twice on our second night. Also didn't see any police patrol the grounds. Keep your doors locked and be aware of your surroundings. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Motorhome.

Right off the highway so there is road noise. I've heard a train but it's far enough away. Noisy overall but with air conditioning on it shouldn't be an issue. Great for a day or two but not a destination park! 50 amp and water work great! We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is right off 1-44 (exit 1C) and right next to Lucy Park and the Wichita Falls - Water Fall. The layout of parking spots was odd but they were wide and we had plenty of room for our 40ft coach and full size truck tow.

We had a sewer connection, and there was also a dump station on way out of park.

The Lucy Park was just over a cute wood swinging bridge and you could walk about half a mile to see the water fall.

Watch out for the vegetation, some of it is very angry. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a city park with a self pay station. Site was pull through and long enough to hold our 41' MH and toad. Easy access headed south on Hwy 287. There are a few 50amp sites. Water is fine and dump station only on the way out. Nice grassy spots with some space between. This was a perfect overnight stop for us. It was quiet and only 3 other campers in the park. I would stop here every time instead of using a generator in a Walmart parking lot. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is city park pull thru sites. 72 hour restriction for length. If you are heading north and going thru Wichita Falls this is easy off and on. No sewer but dump site on the way out. Changing water access from pump handle to ground access. 30 amp max. Right on Red River and has a suspension bridge to a nice walking park. Very few people use this park. I suspect few people know about it. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice stopover if you get road weary. Easy on/off freeway; paved interior roads and campsites. All have water and electric (some have 50 AMP; interior of loop). Stayed one night (site 17) in a 45ft big rig with a tow vehicle; didn't have to disconnect. There is a dump station easy to navigate near the exit. Very well lit at night. GREAT location if you have pets (do watch for stickers in some of the grassy areas). Right next to large park with walking trails. The ONLY negative is the freeway noise, but didn't bother us (especially when inside our RV). Also, very clean, especially following the Labor Day holiday. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Motorhome.

So, this is a great spot to pull off for the night. Level, well lit, and with the a/c running, you can't hear the highway at all. There is a fantastic park right next to the site. No sewer hookup, but a dump station on the way out. We'll definitely stay here again. We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a city park, next to a freeway with no amenities other than water and electricity, and the park. Good electricity and water, but a little hwy noise, well lighted at night. Perfect for an overnight stay. Concrete aprons and quite level. Adequate over the air tv stations. It is very clean. A bargain! We camped at Wichita Bend RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
