Although a no-frills campground, we had a very nice 3 night stay here. The site was level and utilities were great. It is close to Hwy 191 but noise was not a problem at all. It was in the pattern of a local small plane airport, but again this was not a problem as we only saw/heard about 4 planes over the 3 days we were there and only during the day. We did not use their WiFi, but were told we could stream due to the park being only a quarter full at this time of year. The office was also a trading post, with a lot of very nice Indian artifacts. The park manager was a tremendously interesting fellow. We must have taked with him for over an hour about places to visit in this area and his knowledge of the local tribes. Definitely would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Blanding is a very small town with a nice market, but no restaurants that we saw other than a Subway and an A&W . If you take the drive to Butler Wash overlook, be advised it essentially is an off-road type road. We did it in our dually truck, but would not recommend.

We have been here several times now because this seems to be the best RV park in southeastern Utah. As usual, we had a fairly level, pull through, FHU site that was satellite friendly. The Wi-Fi worked well enough for our minimal (e-mail and web surfing) needs. The bathrooms are fairly modern and clean. We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

This RV park has a wonderful trading post associated with. I liked being able to select and book a site online. We chose a site in the back row because it was furthest from the row and saw a beautiful sunset. They have a nice dog run. We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy access to the CG from the state highway and there isn't much traffic to create a noise problem. This CG is set up to handle just about every camping situation. Tents through Class A's. The tent section is close to but not in the RV sections. The owner and manager are great guys and are putting together a destination park. Maintenance does its share to keep the CG looks great. Our drive through was large enough and level. We had grass, sidewalk, picnic table and a shade tree. Utilities are an easy reach. Definitely would stay here again.17. This is a nice, clean park. Gravel sites, as most are in this part of the country. Convenient to shopping and the city of Blanding. We toured the area, Canyonlands NP, Natural Bridges, Trail of the Ancients. There are some great secondary roads to tour the National Forest and see some more remote views. We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

What a delightful RV park! It was so nice to get a price break from the Moab campgrounds! The views are magnificent, too. WiFi was very weak and hard to get most of the time, and Verizon was kind of weak, too. There is no cable, and we could not get over-the-air TV. We were OK with that for the price. The bathrooms are not beautiful, but they are clean and functional. We would definitely stay here again and enjoyed all there is to do in this area! We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

State park museum was great! It is on the site of a ruin and has the Federal repository of ancient artifacts. You can spend a day on Hwy. 95 seeing the Butler Wash Ruins, the Mule Canyon Ruins, and the Natural Bridges National Monument (which also has ruins). We really enjoyed all of these!!

Very nice park with hands on owners who obviously take pride in their business. Landscaping and heavy equipment work being done. Sunsets are gorgeous over the UTE reservation which borders the park. We were on the lower tier which did not have grass, but did have privacy. Agree that there does need to be more laundry machines. We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Unlike some other parks with "mountain" in their name, this park has an excellent view of the blue-tinged Abajo Mountains. Only some sites have direct views of the mountain. Our space was on firm gravel. The park has almost no trees. The rate indicated was for a week with a 15% discount. The town of Blanding is small but has an excellent visitors' center. There are museums in town but other attractions, mostly federal parks and monuments, require drives of an hour or more. Arches National Park is 80 miles north and everything was booked months in advance. We drove by the entrance on a late-May weekday and the line of cars trying to get in looked like it was at least an hour long. We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:
Hovenweep National Monument had both easy and moderate hikes to remains of Indian homes on canyon rims. It is 35 miles from there to shopping in Cortez, CO. Valley of the Gods has lots of dramatic buttes on a rather rough dirt road which can be combined in 1 day with other attractions such as Natural Bridges. The Moki Dugway is a 3-mile twisty high-rise drive not for the faint of heart. The Line Camp steakhouse north of Monticello is well worth the 30-mile trip.

The lovely green grass areas between the premium spaces was so great after the crowded, dusty campground in Moab! Beautiful western vista view from everywhere in park. This is a very nice park built in three tiers so views aren’t obstructed, especially the beautiful sunsets! The trading post is great, with lots of neat things, especially jewelry! Owners are super friendly & know the area like the back of their hand! Only suggestion would be to have a couple more washers & dryers. So far, only two of each & one dryer was not working. We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a really well laid out park. Owners are re-planting trees that failed over the summer, has a dog run, picnic area, trading post on the property. Owners/employees are friendly, personable and even brought us some home-made breakfast pastries....so thoughtful. Clean restrooms, laundry open 24/7, although during the busy season one might decide to use the one in town. Very clean park. We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed only one night and didn't expect much in this area of Utah, which is somewhat sparse. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and value. Sites were nice level gravel, most with large grassy areas, many with at least small shade trees. It looked like the campground was adding more sites and common areas with grass. There were beautiful sunset views of the open Utah landscape to the west. Restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. This is a good place to stay on Route 191 between Monument Valley and Moab. Note that the entrance is on the north end of the campground if entering from the south. Site 10 had a large grass area and a little shade. We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a DRY town, stock up on your booze choices before coming. Nearest liquor store - such as it is - is Monticello and prices are OUTRAGEOUS. Stock up your larder too. One grocery in town - Clarke's - and it is way subtandard and lacks good fresh choices for produce.
Uphill • May 2018 -
Cheapest place for gas (20¢ a gal less) is White Mesa Travel Center, which is about 10 miles S of Blanding. Patio Drive Inn is a great place for lunch (and their milkshakes are to die for). If driving from Natural Bridges to Monument Valley >in your toad<, you HAVE to take Utah 261! You're driving along for miles and suddenly you're at the edge of a huge bluff, with a narrow, gravel switchback road taking you down to the valley below. Absolutely amazing!

Do the Trail of the Ancients loop. All stops were amazing including Moki Dugout. The Dinosaur Museum in town is really cool. The Needles district of Canyonlands is beautiful, and if you have a dog and want to hike, there are tons of options for trails on BLM land near the park.
barbielab • May 2017 -
There is a visitor center with some information on the north end of town. On the south side are a few RV spaces. We couldn't find restaurant with breakfast on a Saturday and went to Bluff, 20+ miles south where there are several excellent to decent restaurants. The state park in town has a very good museum and a below average Anasazi ruin.
AirstreamGene • April 2017 -
Within 30-45 minutes are several great spots: Natural Bridges National Monument, Valley of the Gods (dirt roads--pretty bumpy--but worth it), Hovenweep National Monument, and Sand Island petroglyphs. We also drove to Monument Valley but it was over an hours drive, and we didn't leave enough time to really explore. Moab is only an hour north. We actually camped in Moab and then moved camp south to Blanding to see other sites.
Smashcamp • November 2016 -
There is a little cliff dwelling that you can go see just behind the park. Turn on the first road north of the park and take it to the dead end, where you will see the Five Kivas cliff dwelling. Pop's burritos, just up the road has excellent breakfast and regular burritos.
