We have stayed here many times over the years and have always been happy. The campground isn't fancy but we have always had a long level site with great utilities. The wifi is very good. The staff is very friendly. Green River is a small town but there things to do and see. It is close enough to see Arches and Canyonlands from here. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Very decent average CG with basic essential amenities. Stopped on a Sunday night without reservation for one overnight. Other campgrounds also available in town, but we tend to avoid those as being more costly and having stuff we don't need. Pretty full, but had space, and office was staffed at our 4pm arrival. Most sites appear to be pull-thrus but some are a little short for long combos and also have trees in proximity that might interfere with top of RV or slides. Level throughout, so easy setup. Good location for access to businesses, and pretty quiet. Don't recall wi-fi situation. Got small discount for gas at associated station. No problems, a bit short on value, but recommend. Green River has most essential needs. Good thing, being only significant town for a long way. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We've stayed at this park many times over the past 5 years. It's a Jykel & Hyde place - sometimes they're friendly and sometimes they're not. Sometimes the sites are nice and sometimes they're not. This last stay was a bit disturbing; while hooking up my water hose I noticed that the sewer port (which was right next to the water spigot) was covered in what looked like dried partially disintegrated toilet paper - YUK! A couple of hours after we got set up the guy next to us came knocking on the door to tell us his sewer hose "blew" out the connection and gray water had run under my coach. Went out to look and it appeared that the sewer system was severely backed up thus explaining the previously mentioned mess. Luckily it is the desert and it was windy so the water dried up quickly and little odor. Sure glad my neighbor was only dumping gray water! If you want to stay in Green River there are 2 not very good choices: Shady Acres or the KOA across the river. Shady Acres is hit or miss and the KOA is way over priced. In most aspects the 2 parks are very similar so pick your poison. In my opinion both are over priced, but they can pretty much charge what they want given the lack of choices. I have stayed in both parks and it usually is a matter of a coin toss to determine where to stay. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you need to buy fuel, buy it at the Conoco on the west side of town it's usually cheaper than the Silver Eagle gas station at the RV park entrance, even with the $0.03 discount.

We stopped for one night, on our way south. The price seemed high but was the going rate for this middle-of-no-where town in the desert. On the bright side, its easy to find and easy to get in/out of the park. The check in was quick and they give you a slip of paper that gets you three cents off (per gallon) at the fuel station next door. On the negative side, some of the turns, going thru the park, are tight and the placement of trees, both old and new, made it difficult to get around without dragging something along the side of the motor home. Also, because its in the desert, the park is mostly loose dirt and very dusty. I wouldn't have stayed more than one night. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We were here for two weeks. The place is a bit run down but the staff is working to fix things up. The spaces were level. Where we were there, the grass was dead and going away from the pad the land sloped down a lot making it difficult to get to the first step. We had a few items delivered here and it can be quite confusing. One package went to the post office as they requested and the person picking up mail took it home making it difficult to find. Other packages were delivered to the store next door as the office is not open in the morning. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The town is pretty dead. Shopping is over an hour away in Grand Junction Colorado or Price Utah (people we asked said they went to Colorado). There is one store in Green River but their selection is limited and the prices are high. Be sure to get some melons at the various fruit stands. This is the one thing Green River is famous for. If you don't mind a dirt road drive out to Crystal Geyser.

We were on our way to Iowa and found Shady Acres to spend the night. Sites were spacious with trees. They are pet friendly and have a small dog park. Not much to do in town of Green River, but Ray's Tavern has awesome burgers! We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed her for an overnight stop off the interstate. The town is very small with an old truckstop and a market. Not much else. The park is very dusty since it's all dirt with some gravel. There weren't many other rigs in the park and it was probably one of the few places I've stayed where I left all my outside lights on all night. $45 was fair for full hookups but it's not a place I would stay the next time I'm traveling through. Sewer was at ground level but at a 45 degree angle. This is the first place where I needed a straight sewer connect without an elbow. On a positive note, it had a very nice fenced dog run. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

It's hard to believe that this is a Good Sam Park! The sign out front is falling apart. A whole row of sites weren't usable because the power was not working. Very dusty and dirty. Shady Acres? Not much shade. Laundromat was OK; could use some cleaning, but I think a lot of people outside the park use it also. Should have stayed in the state park near by. We really loved this park. We were surprised how empty it was at the end of June (Granted, we showed up on a Sunday afternoon). The manager spread RV's throughout the park, so the first day we did not have any nearby neighbors. The park is quiet and the scenery is nice. Our concrete pad was perfectly level and everything worked very well. The restrooms were clean and the water pressure was good. The staff were very friendly and efficient. There is also an excellent RV wash station and we were given a discount coupon for the neighboring gas station. We had originally planned to only stay one day, but we liked it so much that we stayed an extra day. We would definitely return to this park. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We drove to the nearby Arches National Park for the day. This is one of the nicest national parks we've ever visited. Take lots of water, if you are hiking in the summer. It's best to disconnect your trailer, if possible, as some of the turns in the park are pretty tight and parking spots are often hard to find. There is a good restaurant and micro-brewery in nearby Moab (The Moab Brewery, 686 South Main, Moab, UT) that serves really good IPA beer and burgers (among other things).

Stayed at the park for over a month. The restrooms were very clean as were the showers. The Internet was hit or miss--basically it was pretty slow and I found myself getting kicked off their WiFi frequently. The laundry facilities were just ok--nothing to rave about. The water pressure was very poor. The location was good as I was working north of Moab and actually preferred staying here rather than dealing with the over crowding in Moab. The owner was nice and accommodating. I would stay here again. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites were long and narrow pull thru with dirt and a little gravel, but access was easy. WIFI worked occasionally, and the 50 amp power was good at our site # 33. The clerk who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful. The grounds appeared to receive the basic care. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome. We stayed here 3 nights to visit Arches National Park. It was doable but still a bit of a drive. The town of Green River was once a thriving town but over time has become pretty much deserted. However the 2 campgrounds in town were both swamped as the next available ones are quite a ways away. I feel this campground is on the verge of needing some sprucing up before it becomes very tired looking. We were quite happy with our level spot and would stay here again. Everything you need is on the grounds....car wash, groceries, gas, etc. which makes it super convenient. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This was one of the only places around on our route. The spot was level and was nice sized. The roads were ample enough. It had a great dog park, with one side for big dogs, the other for small. The people there all seemed nice. It seemed to be a real rv park, not a permanent resident park. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
