Some paved roads, mostly gravel. Site extremely close together, RVs parked head to toe so shared area for pick-nick tables. On slope of hill but sites actually fairly level. Pool and play area for kids. Close to freeway so some noise (didn't bother us inside). Close enough to Southwester Utah areas we wanted to visit to make nice base camp. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Motorhome.

Pros: Water pressure and power good, good Sprint coverage, friendly accommodating staff, clean RV Park, good gravel coverage of site, nice heated pool, great views, close to nice parks and Zion National Park. Cons: AT&T and Verizon coverage marginal, WiFi marginal, site not all that level, sewer connections too far off ground, small bit of noise from interstate but not enough to complain about. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

View to the west in the morning is spectacular, especially from camping cabins. The facility is in very good repair. My site was reasonably level. One will probably be unable to remain unhitched as your tow vehicle is on a incline. I had to back out of my pull-through site as a vehicle was parked on an access road. The freeway is close so expect freeway noise. Most of the greenery in the park is foxtail so only walk pets on graveled surfaces. Verizon coverage was quite weak - to be expected in this location. The park had several wi-fi connections. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We have used this park frequently. For us the price is right. Most spots are very unlevel side to side. Nice setting looking at the red rock mountains across the highway. Close to Zion NP. We will stay here again. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Not suitable for big rigs. Not level. Small (very small) sites. No real pull throughs for larger rigs. Gravel pads. Dogs, lots of dogs. Some roads paved and some gravel. Very expensive for what it is. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Motorhome.

We were passing through St. George and we needed a place to stay. Called ahead to make a reservation, and the woman on the phone was very friendly. The campground was nice, with a little creek nearby that was fun to explore with our kids. The spaces were very close together, but it was not loud at night. If you were going to the Red Cliffs Recreational Area, this would be a good place to stay. I would stay here again. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I use KOA all the time because I know what to expect. When booking, I use the app and enter length of unit, towing and pull thru. I don't want to disconnect my car for an overnight. Nope, very compact campground, no sites long enough. You have to disconnect. Had a 45' footer follow us in, they left, couldn't open their slides. This would have been good to know, I would have booked a back up site in Mesquite and gone to the casino. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

First Impression: Not easy to find. No easy interstate access. Inviting roadside appearance. Safety: No concerns. Access: Off I-15. Exit 16 or exit 23 but in either case, end up on old highway 91 after driving all over the place. Old Hwy 91 in poor condition, good CG signage, Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Friendly staff. Token store with snacks and a few RV equipment items. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations available. KOA discount. Facilities: Pool but no spa or fitness room. Large, laundry room. Mini-golf. Large, clean, no mold, restrooms/showers, good privacy, but hot water suddenly went to holycrapthat'scold in an instant, then back to hot (score "A"). Propane sales. Nice, large playground. No off-leash dog run. Campground: Not in a flood plain. No storm shelter. Lightly wooded. Interior roads are wide asphalt in good condition but with right-angle turns needing caution. Some sites have too-low, hanging branches (rubbed my roof). Big rig and long coach challenging. Prevosts could have maneuvering problems. No tent area or yurts but cabins are available. Sites in rows 1 and 2 are all very close (almost slide-to-slide) while rows 3 and back are wide. Alternate parking, not very level, gravel, pull-through and back-in, rough grass between. Pedestals at middle of site with electric 20/30/50; no meters. Adequate water pressure with okay taste. Sewer pipe is 4" threaded, angled at ground level making 90 degree (use a do-nut), screw-in sewer connections impossible. No patios, "ok" picnic tables. Ground fires not permitted; no fire rings. Good satellite views. Free cable TV (20 channels). Free Wi-Fi with multiple antennas but no internet connection (useless). Verizon phone and 4G at 1-2 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: No railroad, aircraft, or local traffic noise, some interstate noise. Bug Report (late September): black ants. Runners: CG roads ok for running. Yoga: no good place to put your mat. Conclusion: Score 5-Acceptable but like all KOAs, a bit pricey. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Get to route 9 and head northeast to Hurricane, UT (on the way to the Zion National Park). Diesel at Maverik $2.859. Walmart. No national restaurant chains, fast food Arby's, McDonalds, Taco Bell, DQ. Ace Hardware, a local RV dealer/parts/shop. Local groceries. Drive south on I-15 to exit 8 for major restaurants (Outback, Chili's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, etc) and shopping.

No fenced dog area. Our site seemed to be a converted overflow area. Had CaTV line running on ground through sites. Acceptable though. Level enough for one night. Spotty ATT connection, even with booster.

Follow the directions on their site (and look for the signs). Not GPS friendly. The route "by the lake" is not one I would recommend. Sites are odd/even, front and back, so you share door space with your neighbor. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Motorhome.

Park is all dirt and gravel. Our site was on a terrace so there was a sharp incline to get into my spot. Lot's of wind here, hence the name Hurricane! The staff was mixed, the woman that checked us in was great, others not so great. Utilities were fine. Price was based on RPI. Many transient because of KOA so people don't know what 5 mph means! We spent 9 nights to see all the parks. Would stay again under RPI. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Traveled out west and stayed at 6 different KOA campgrounds. All were quite nice, but the KOA Hurricane, UT was horrible! As soon as we arrived were had barking dogs near our site. This continued throughout our stay. After making 2 complaints that were not acknowledged, we soon learned these campers were monthly or permanent. It was not coming from one campsite, but several in the back row of the park. The park rules state, no incessant barking from dogs. This was not being followed and/or enforced. No one seemed to care! We were excited to go into the pool, as it was 80 degrees. When we went to the pool, it was filthy. Dirty on the floor and leaves and debris floating on the top. The temperature of the pool was 80 degrees. How was this going to cool us off? Left very upset. Do not waste your time or money here. The staff and management only want to collect a fee from campers. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Tent.

This works for an overnight stay, but I wouldn't want to stay here any longer. The neighbors are very close to you, especially if you both have slide outs. The park says they have internet, but maybe it only works in the office which is a little ways down the road from the site. At least the price was on the lower side. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is not friendly to big Fifth Wheel trailers. Single lane roads, all sites were cramped with concert post you need to watch out for. Not much options. I damage my Fifth Wheel trying to get out of the pull through on the concert post. Not enough space to manuivor a big rig. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Parking lot campground with wifi that does not work even though they say they provide it. We stayed for 5 nights and had no working wifi. The sites are designed that you face your neighbor and it was our bad luck to have a lonely guy who wanted to talk to us every time we opened our door. Location is too far away from Zion, St George and Snow Canyon. If the campground was decent I could justify having to drive 30-45 minutes to get to an attraction. Find a better spot to camp! Location right off of I-15 but noise wasn't too bad and it was convenient for seeing the National Parks in the area. Hook-ups were strange and we needed and extension for the electric. The first day we were here, it was windy out. The power surged twice and kicked our fuse. The other day we were here, it was fine. The sewer opening was at an angle, but it worked fine.

We were on an end site so we had a little yard which was nice. The pool was dirty my kids said, but that could have been due to all the wind we had the day they swam. Staff was nice enough, escorted us to our site.

The pull-in check-in area has a steep spot and we scraped coming down it so be careful. View was nice past the highway, some very pretty rock cliffs. The store hours were good (they were open almost all day) considering it was off-season. Our site had a fire pit, not all of them do. We camped at St. George / Hurricane KOA in a Travel Trailer.
