Attractive, well-kept campground, lots of big shade trees for the C sites and tent areas especially. Gravel pads & interior roads, and previous comments about angling and levelness of sites are pretty accurate. Campground is on a slope, so sites are terraced. We would have had to back the trailer all the way into the site in order to fit our truck straight in; we had to angle it a little. We have Verizon and were always on "extended network" so had to limit calls & texts, but I agree that the campground Wifi was great - really fast, and several "channels" to choose from. Quiet at night, and a nice view of the Uinta Mts and an arm of Flaming Gorge lake in the distance. Helpful staff, nice playground, some cabins & a tipi to rent, nice clean facilities. Great base camp for visiting Flaming Gorge area. We camped at Flaming Gorge / Manila KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Grocery store is small and selection is limited; same building also houses hardware store & gift shop. Nearest larger towns are at least 50 miles away (Green River, Rock Springs); only basic staples here. We had lunch at Red Canyon Lodge; it was ok. Nice area, small fishing pond for kids to use (free?) Sheep Creek Loop is a beautiful drive!

Nice little KOA Journey campground right on Utah route 43, which is not too busy, so fairly quiet in this little town. Very well maintained and nice facilities. All gravel roads, and sites of varying levelness. Decent amount of spacing between sites, and a few big mature trees provide shade and ambiance. Mostly easy to maneuver, but first few sites in C-row are angled wrong way for backing in from the one-way in road in front of them. However, road is pretty wide, and staff is good at helping guide you in. Pool (closed after Labor Day), playground, small camp store, laundry (which has limited daytime hours), small book exchange, trash pick up from site, and dog run are all nice amenities. No cable, but decent OTA TV and Verizon service was good. Very nice and clean bathroom/shower facilities. Would stay again if in area. We camped at Flaming Gorge / Manila KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Flaming Gorge is stunning. Don't miss the Sheep Creek Geological Area loop road, the dirt road up to stunning views at Dowd Mountain, Red Canyon visitor center and rim trail, 3-mile round trip Bear Canyon Trail to great views, etc. Stop in Ashley National Forest office right at corner of Routes 44 and 43 in town for area outdoor recreation info. Small grocery market (which doubles as hardware store) in town has basics, pricey, but better than 45 minute drive up to Green River, WY.

This is a small, lovely KOA located outside Flaming Gorge Recreational Area. It is very well maintained with fairly level sites (lots of site sizes). There is road traffic noise during the day, but quiet at night. There is only a gas station and small market, so stock up before you arrive. The Flaming Gorge is quite impressive as is the surrounding area. The helpful KOA front desk personnel will give you some good pointers as to what to see nearby. Plan on a day plus to really enjoy the area. We camped at Flaming Gorge / Manila KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this KOA for two nights. Easy access to Flaming Gorge NRA. The owners guided us to our site and helped us park. Facilities included a pool and a nice playground for kids. Site was mostly level and hookups were conveniently located. Good choice if you don't want to dry camp at the NFS campgrounds. We camped at Flaming Gorge / Manila KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Small grocery/hardware store located in town. Also a few restaurants. The area is accessible from the south, west, or north on good highways but there are steep grades if you are coming from Vernal. Lots of scenic drives and hikes in the area. We drove the Sheep Creek Geological Loop and also to Red Canyon Lodge on this trip.

Had a wonderful stay here. We initially booked for 2 nights, ended up staying 6. The campground is very well laid out, plenty of space between the sites. The back in spots are easy to navigate, plenty of road space to maneuver.
Gorgeous large cottonwood trees provide shade and they’ve put effort into getting solid wireless coverage (with decent speed). Bathrooms were always clean, there is a fish cleaning sink available and the service from every staff member was impeccable.
Lovely dog run at the back of the site and plenty of grass for them to walk on (and they’re welcome to do so). Pool looked nice and stayed busy, horseshoe game available, playground for the kids.
Seems to be an AT&T cell area, we had full service on that phone. Verizon phones were in extended network but did work. We camped at Flaming Gorge / Manila KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We recently visited this park with three of our grandchildren. Our spot would not accommodate our boat, and the owners went out of their way to help us. The park is clean, well cared for and shows pride of ownership. The swimming pool was clean and an excellent addition for the kids. The customer service was beyond anything I have ever experienced. I would highly recommend this RV Park to anyone in the area. We will definitely return. Best KOA I have ever visited. I would highly recommend stopping here while visiting the Flaming Gorge area. The laundry room is immaculate, as were the showers and entire park. This is a gem! We camped at Flaming Gorge / Manila KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice quiet park, hit it before high season so was blessedly quiet. Great low traffic streets surround the park for great dog walking. Staff was PHENOMENAL and park was very clean and neat. Grassy areas and fire rings at each site. Nice and long, plenty of room and fairly level. Fenced dog park (as is common at KOA locations). Obvious pride of ownership shown here. Very nice location for exploring the Flaming Gorge and Sheep Creek Canyon areas. Lots of hilly territory, be prepared for big ups and downs if you have a big rig! Be sure to visit the Sheep Creek Canyon scenic drive and nature walk...the highlight of our stay! Wish we could have stayed longer at this great park. New owners (3 years) have been improving the place. Completely re-did the bathrooms, put in new gravel, leveled the sites, changed the entry and gift shop room to be friendlier and accommodating. Easy in and out and close the Flaming Gorge and the Geological Road. They even pick up your trash in the morning! Dog park was small but sufficient. Sewer is way at the back. Overall Rating:

This is a small well kept campground with friendly and helpful staff at check in. Interior roads are gravel as was our level pad. Big rig access was marginal, we had a pull through which was very difficult to turn into, there was no way we could have got into our site had we left our towed attached. Our site was very tight with just enough space to park our towed. Not a lot a privacy between sites, but there were some lovely old shade trees, a picnic table and fire ring. The campground is located next to Highway 43, but road noise was minimal and there was little traffic in the evenings. The view from our RV was the distant mountains and a peek of the water. The bathrooms were a little dated, but spotlessly clean. The laundry was small but well equipped. There is a small dog park with doggie bags and a disposal station. Wifi and cell were good. Food stores are very limited but there are a couple of small local restaurants. We found this campground to be a great base for all the sightseeing in the area, the lake is lovely and there are some scenic byways to enjoy. We would stay here again. We camped at Flaming Gorge / Manila KOA in a Motorhome.

Well kept, small out of the way park. New owners are doing a great job. Stayed 4 nights to see the sights in the area. Tip on men's showers: the first one going in is very small - use the second or third. We stayed in a pull through and it was very nice and fairly level. The back-ins offer a little more shade. Manila is a very small area but does offer fuel, limited food supplies and three small places to eat. We enjoyed our stay. We camped at Flaming Gorge / Manila KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

On the way to the dam there are several areas to get some great pictures of the lake. It is worth the drive. There a several scenic byways and backways in the area for you to drive. Visitors can tour the dam and enjoy fishing and boating on the lake. The lake is almost 100 miles long with almost 400 miles of shoreline.

This KOA has been under new ownership for the past 18 months. The new owners are doing a great job bring things up to date. The sites are gravel and level. The pull-throughs are next to Highway 43 but the road noise is minimal and very little traffic after 6:00 PM. For big rigs the pull-through site can be a little tight, but the KOA staff are very helpful providing assistance getting in. We would stay there again with a great location to the lake and access to scenic drives. We camped at Flaming Gorge / Manila KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Wendy was super helpful. Called us in Grand Junction the morning of our reservation to let us know it had snowed in the passes overnight. We waited another day for it to clear and there was no charge for the missed day. The RV park is easy to get to. The entrance area is a little tight but manageable. The roads are very tight and getting in to our pull thru was impossible without clipping the rocks and wooden beam berms. The roads and sites are gravel. The sites are mostly level. The utilities worked fine. The restrooms were clean but the shower and toilet stalls were really small. Don't drop your soap and watch your knee so it doesn't bang in to the toilet paper dispenser. Too many "don't do this" signs. They pick up trash at the sites in the morning. Grass patio area with picnic table and grill grate. We camped at Flaming Gorge / Manila KOA in a Motorhome.
