Beautiful place and lots to see and do. We stayed here for 7 nights. The campground itself is small, 16 sites, only 7 sites of those 16 are suitable for RV's. There is a nearby dump and potable water fill for fresh tank about 7ish miles from this campground. Flaming Gorge is a national recreation area with plenty of campgrounds to choose from. We chose this one and were happy with our choice. The campground is perched above the gorge with a walking path along the edge to the nearby visitor's center. We were entertained daily by four big horn male sheep as they grazed casually on the bountiful grasses with the campground. They are wild but not bothered by the activities of the humans in their campsites who encroached on their territory. If there is one negative, it was the condition of the vault toilets......flies and odiferous. Not conducive to doing my business. Sites were spaced nicely. Our particular one was set apart from rest of the sites and provided much physical privacy. The tent sites were grouped in three's for a total of nine sites. I would come back to this area again. BTW, this is a dry camping. We camped at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Canyon Rim Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful area. 0.1 mi walk to the canyon rim for beautiful sunrise or sunset views. Only gripe was my site was not very level. Had to use every board I carried to get close to level. We camped at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Canyon Rim Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We were looking for a campground in the general area that would be close to hiking and biking, and be quiet so we could enjoy a few rest days. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed over a weekend in mid-June in our 25 foot motor home. Note there are 4 campgrounds on Red Canyon Road. We stayed at Red Canyon at the end of the road, just past Canyon Rim Campground . This campground was just what we wanted. We could walk to the Visitor Center, hike the rim trail, bike or drive to a few area attractions. The big horn sheep walking through the park were a bonus. The views were gorgeous (pun intended)! We arrived late in the afternoon on a Saturday and there were several sites still available. Sites vary in size and orientation. Some have more shade than others. Most were level. There was good AT&T and Verizon coverage. There's no WiFi. The campground was quiet. The hosts are at Canyon Rim campground, 1 mile away. We camped at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Canyon Rim Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Sheep Creek Canyon is 20 miles west and is beautiful. The Flaming Gorge Dam is 11 miles east and offers a great tour. There are several beaches and boat launches, although there are campgrounds closer to the FG Lake.

Overall Rating:

I would add an amen to previous reviewers. This is a quiet, beautiful campground with amazing views. I would note that sites can be reserved and you should probably make reservations for weekend camping. The campground is well-maintained and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had good ATT wireless service and Internet. Our rate does reflect senior pass. We camped at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Canyon Rim Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed in site 16 which was very spacious and about 200 yards from the canyon rim. We enjoyed our stay even without hookups. There are a couple of threaded spigots in the camp ground. Just make sure you fill up on the way in, since they are some distance from the majority of sites. We had good Verizon service, don't know about OTA TV since we didn't try. Very quiet at night and absolutely beautiful during the day. A nice picnic table and fire ring along with a grill stand at each site. The road has a very tight turn for anything over 35 ft, along with curbs. We camped at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Canyon Rim Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Several easy access spots for big rigs in this small campground. The location is just great with some of the best views you've ever seen. You look down to the Green River from 1,700 feet above on the canyon rim. It's all dry camping. There is water available but no dump. You can dump at Firemen's Memorial Park which is about 10 miles away toward the dam on 191. Each site has a nice fire ring and picnic table. The whole park is quiet. When we were there (June) there were almost no other campers. The Visitor's Center is nice and the staff friendly. Check out the videos and take the short walk by the Center. It is great! We got excellent connectivity with our MiFi. We stayed in Site 16 which is nice if you have solar. If not, try number 10 as it is very private. We were in a 36' rig with a toad. We camped at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Canyon Rim Campground in a Motorhome.
