We got the last site available on a Friday afternoon, this is a beautiful camp ground with amazing views, we dry camped for 5 days. I would suggest arriving in the middle of the week to get a better choice of sites. Its a short drive (11 miles) to Arches National Park which we found to be very crowded. So many other things to do in the area hiking, biking, 4 wheeling, we hiked all around the camp ground which has a nice waterfall when there is water and many other trails. The Lake was almost dry when we were there, but several storms were helping put some water back. The rules for generator use 8am to 8pm and keeping vehicles on maintained roads in the camp ground are strictly enforced. There is no OTA TV but we streamed HULU without a problem, we will stay again. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Motorhome.

This blm land camp site is just a few miles south of Moab. The park is about 2 miles off 191 using 175 or get off early and follow the signs from airport road. This way is more asphalt but the other way is straight shot. This beautiful open land is surrounded by scenery and peace. The blm rules state generators are only allowed between 8am and 8pm so be prepared. Verizon cell is good but remember Moab is painful at best of times. The wind causes loss of signal. You come into the park, drive around and find a site, back in and go to the main entrance to fill out a form and leave your money. Well worth not having the cost of the local rv parks. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

stop in moab and eat and do any grocery shopping. You can park on the main road thru town easily. Fresh water at the gas stations. This park is outside town not to far from the last expensive rv park so not a bad trip if u want to explore. Very good if you are passing thru and going south out of moab.

We stayed in the upper section due to this area affording views of the mountains in both directions. All RV parks in town were booked, but we were directed here by a very helpful person at one of the parks. VERY glad we came here. My rate reflects NP Pass rate - normally $15 per night. Dry camping, but the location was great. Extra large sites and well separated. We are glad we chose the upper section, as the road to the lower campground got muddy and nearly washed-out during a heavy rain storm. We would gladly stay here again. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Travel Trailer.

Located south of town but close enough to gas stations and restaurants. Stayed 2 nights over Labor Day weekend; self-pay. Even though part of the campground was closed, there were plenty of spaces. The sites are back-in, some up to 80ft long so plenty of room for big rig pulling a trailer. The road is gravel but well maintained a bit dusty especially with folks driving through. It is dry camping with little shade but in a beautiful setting near the lake and a waterfall. Would stay here again. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Fifth Wheel.

Tried to get reservations at a private campground in Moab and SO glad they were all full and we had the opportunity to camp at Kens Lake! We stayed in upper loop overlooking the lake. Huge sites with lots of space between sites. We arrived at 3 pm and we're able to get a site but it quickly filled up. There was a dune buggy rally in town so not sure if it always fills up but there was a pretty constant stream of campers trying to get a site. No hookups and no water at campground but there are places in Moab where you can fill fresh water tanks. Google these and fill up before going to campground. Vault toilets were clean but needed a scheduled pump out. Beautiful lake and setting. Super quiet at night. Great views and star gazing. Close but not too close to Moab. Stayed two nights and would absolutely stay again. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Travel Trailer.

What a dry-camping gem!! Please do not be fearful of taking your big rig into the lower part of the campground. No problem with the road. The sites there are huge, with spectacular vistas from every direction (site 29 is enormous). We first pulled into a site in the upper portion, and found the nearby restroom odor to be overwhelming. But, if you have your own facilities, we highly recommend Ken's Lake. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Motorhome.

We stayed nine nights in the first (lower) section while visiting national parks and Moab. It is about 8 miles south of Moab on Hwy 191, then 3 miles off the road. there are 18 sites in the lower section and maybe 20 or so sites in the upper section. To get from one section to the other, you must drive down a moderately steep slope, immediately changing to an upslope at the bottom. Long fivers and trailers may bottom out making this transition. Bigger motor homes may want to disconnect any towed vehicle before proceeding. Most sites are long and wide, and very well spaced and have iron tables and fire rings (burn ban while we were there, although it seems some people didn't think this rule applied to them. There were pit toilets in each section, and at the lake. Even this late in the year Ken's Lake still had plenty of water for boating/fishing/swimming. DH caught one small Bass one day. Decent swimming beach, although mostly gravel vs. sand. We found the location to be just fine, even though 8 miles out of town, because the drive was easy and fast. Campground was very quiet at night. We saw the ranger every day mid morning as fees were picked up, and sometimes they drove through the park. There were spaces available every night except weekends, when the place filled up on Thursday night. The group sites had 2 corrals. Trash had to be driven from the campground to the Lake because there were no dumpsters in the campground proper. No problem. The trail from the campground to the lake was a pleasant, easy walk, although not handicap accessible. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Highlight of our trip was the U-drive T-Rex 4x4 guided tour onto the slickrocks. Highly recommend. Quesadilla Mobilla (open 11-5 daily) was fabulous and inexpensive for lunch/dinner. Village Market had good, fresh food, and some of my favorite things I wasn't able to find elsewhere.

Large sites that can fit just about any size rig. Very quiet while we were there and lots of open sites. Could use some shade trees, however. We would camp here again. Rate reflects our Senior Pass discount. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate reflects us of a Senior Pass and is half of the regular nightly rate. Ken's Lake is a beautiful campground south of Moab. There are views of the red cliffs and a babbling waterfall within the park. This campground is boondocking only, but, for a few days, it is the best value for a visit to Moab. The camp host is friendly and helpful. There is no water or dump at this campground. Locations of dumps and available water and showers are available from the visitors center in Moab. The park is separated into two sections. Motor homes are better suited for the first section as the road to the second section contains a deep "V" shaped dip that may cause damage to the front cap on most Class A motor homes. Sites are of differing sizes, but all include a picnic table and fire ring with grill. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Fifth Wheel.

We liked this campground. There are 2 sections...and upper and a lower section. To get to the lower section you pass thru a dry wash. The spaces were large and for the most part, pretty level. Unfortunately, the government shut down and we had to leave early --- even though the cg doesn't receive any federal money. The camp host was apologetic. We didn't have a chance to hike up to the water falls.....but will next time. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderful!! BUT no dump station anywhere near. Primitive (no HUs), mostly huge sites; mostly level; mostly private, quiet; oh, the views! $7.50 w/Sr. pass. Hwy 191 ~3 miles, ~1/2 mile of gravel makes it great for overnight or whole week. Restrictive quiet hrs 8pm-8am (but more peaceful) plan accordingly. CG was full by 4pm Friday (weekend bike race in Moab). As camp got full, two big rigs even fit themselves into 1 site, side-by-side, [nose to tail, like horses swatting flies] they both paid. Faux Falls is worth a look as is 'Steel Bender' jeep trail. Kayakers/fishermen having fun on lake, we had a peek of lakeview from our site. We prefer SP, BLM, FS, COE, etc., to the 'pack' RV parks, so my ratings reflect the amenities we value: space, privacy, serenity, views, $value, vs playgrounds, golf, pool-spa, etc. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful BLM campground. There is are no hook-ups (electric, water, sewer) and there is no water or dump station. There are clean pit toilets. Nevertheless this is a pleasant place with level, gravel campsites for boon docking. The view of the valley and the red rock cliffs is outstanding. There are several hiking trails of a mile or so leading from the campground. This is a very nice BLM campground in a beautiful rural setting. There is a nearby lake that offers fishing. The $6 rate reflects the rate charged for holders of the Golden Age pass. We camped at Ken's Lake - BLM in a Motorhome.
