Stayed in # 37 with a slim view of the lake and far enough from mosquitoes. Sites seem quite private with more than enough room between sites. this was Labor Day weekend and the noise level....wasn't! Although park was full, you didn't hear music, yelling etc....a few loose dogs on occasion (people are clueless). Lots of climbing at high elevation so take it easy. We camped at Panguitch Lake NFS Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a laundromat in the little village about 2 minutes away...when you dogs wets your bed. It also is a store and a burger barn.

Beautiful region. We have a ~40' rig (no pop-outs) and were able to back in to a site no problem. We did not have reservations, came in on a Thursday night and there were a couple spots left. The campground filled up that night. There is an unpaved overflow campground on the opposite side of the road (left if entering from Panguitch). But I'm glad we didn't have to use it -it rained 3 out of our 5 nights in the area.

There is a dumping station on the road immediately prior to right hand turn into the campground.

We fished (better luck in the creek than the lake). And went horseback riding ($40/person/1.5hr ride). Shorter rides available. Horses were in fair condition, ride was nice. We camped at Panguitch Lake NFS Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Pizza at the local joint (c-stop) was good but took >45 minutes so call ahead! Cowboy smokehouse was good enough (very limited menu).

We did day trips to both Bryce (40min) and Zion (1.5hrs). We would definitely stay here again.

Another great NFS campground next to a large reservoir stocked. Beware the site sizes listed on Recreation.gov. We reserved #48 and it is NOT suitable for coaches over 35': the site may be big enough, but the access is not, as the scarred trees attest. We changed to #20 which is supposed to be a 30' back in site, but we pulled in head to with our 43' coach and had plenty of space. We camped at Panguitch Lake NFS Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

17 miles to town, so plan accordingly. Dixie Drive In in Hatch serves great burgers and excellent fries, and is a kick to visit. Burger Barn near campground is ok, but just.

Good wifi at the Panguitch library.

Hatch Mountain Road (maintained dirt) connects Panguitch Lake and Hatch. Easy drive in a minivan, several 4WD trails off it leading back into hills. Some BLM camping near Panguitch end.

Gorgeous country!
