Overall Rating:

Sites are oddly laid out ona parking lot, however probably best that could be done due to the terrain. Each site had a grassy area with fire pit, barbecue and covered picnic table. Nearby area and easy launching for boats, kayaks and canoes. Scenery from water was beautiful and apparently good fishing. Close to Vernal. We would definitely go again We camped at Red Fleet State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of dinosaur history and places to visit.

Overall Rating:

This was the oddest CG we've stayed at. First, the good news. The scenery is spectacular. From there it goes downhill very fast.

It mainly caters to boaters, fishermen and tent campers. RVs, especially motorhomes, are an afterthought. There are only 5 FHU sites and all can be reserved online. If you're a transient, your chances of getting a FHU for more than 1 night are slim. We chose to dry camp to avoid hassles but most of the sites are too small or too sloped for a small 30' moho. EVERY site is slanted AND canted. Even with levelers, it was tough to get level.

The employees are pleasant but not very effective. I saw at least 6 dogs roaming off leash. The girl at the gate didn't seem too clear on which sites were available. Most of the rules seem to be recommendations. We camped at Red Fleet State Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

$25 per night was for an unlevel asphalt pad site with full hookups (30 amp electric), covered picnic table, and fire ring. The four full hookup sites (plus one host site) are situated on an unlevel asphalt parking area that are cramped together with connections in inconvenient locations and virtually no place to park a tow vehicle. It was lucky for us that there were few others using the campground during our overnight stay. The electric only sites had a bit more room. The picnic tables and fire rings are on a large grassy area behind the sites. The campground is located on a reservoir, which is great for boating/fishing and beautiful scenery. Vernal is the nearest city and is surprisingly well equipped. AT&T cell service was non-existent. We used our Milliencom jetpack for internet access but it was really slow. There were no OTA TV stations. We camped at Red Fleet State Park in a Motorhome.
